Summer check in- Saturday 6-25-05

Good morning everyone.
I have a TTOTM headache this morning and it sucks. Every month right at the beginning and then at the end I get these awful headaches. It feels like someone is kicking me in the head w/ the tip of a cowboy boot. I took some Aleve w/ my caffeine so hopefully it will subside.

LowMax is on my schedule. If I rest today I'll do it tomorrow. I just realized I don't take schedule a rest day. Do you guys?
DH is cutting hedges before it gets UNGODLY HOT & HUMID so I think I'll go see if he needs help.

Oh by the way I ate pizza last night. Way too much.:( Just wanted to tell on myself.

My High Step is on its way!!:7 Can't wait!!!!

Good morning!

Yep, I was right about those DOMS - they didn't fully attack till this morning and OUCH do they hurt!!!!

I only ran for 30 minutes last night b/c of the heat, but I think I'll TRY to tack on some short cardio after L&G (we'll see how fried my legs become first).

Don't worry about the pizza, Kali - yesterday at work there was an end-of-the-year picnic full of not-so=healthy foods. I declined the ice cream sundae, but that didn't stop me from getting into the cookies, marshmallow salad, and chocolate. x(
I'm just going to let it act as my "free" day and then be really vigilant about the rest of the week. Last night I was craving sugar (any kind, didn't matter) and I was SOOOO lucky that we didn't have ANY junk food at home. I was counting on finding that pack of Oreos I made DH hide from me, but I guess he hid them a little too well }(
The best I could come up with was some fruit yogurt (which was probably a good thing, I know)

Well, wish me luck today. Not only am I going to try L&G for the 1st time, but I'm also going summer clothes and bathing suit shopping (oh, the sheer joy of seeing my cellulite under those flourescent fitting room lights!!!) I've been putting it off and really need to go - (gulp!)

Hi Girls

I finally did L&G last night -- only because I knew I would have to tell you all if I did not. I kept putting it off but then at 8pm I finally pushed myself to do it - Thanks, girls!

Good luck with L&G, Cleo. I managed to do the entire tape except a few exercises I did not use any weight and this morning my legs are pleasantly sore. although i know tomorrow i probably will not be able to get out of bed. I'm scheduled for PUB today and Imax2 on Sunday and I think I am going to switch those because I don't think my legs will cooperate tomorrow.

As for eating, yesterday I came home from work and was starving. I tried to stay healthy but a mini ice cream sandwich was consumed.
I have to go grocery shopping today and the grocery store by my apartment burnt down last week so I'll get a nice easy workout from walking to the grocery store about a mile away and carrying home lots of cantaloupe (on sale) and other produce.

Kali, the rotation I am doing (Jan. weight loss) calls for one rest day per week. I'm in the first week of the rotation and I am definitely going to use the rest day because my body is not used to working out like this anymore. I don't know what I will do when I get my fitness level back. I guess whether to take a rest day depends on how your body feels.

Well, I decided to skip the cardio and do it early tomorrow AM instead b/c it's already nearing 90 degrees!! I think I'm going to like L&G, except when Cathe keeps saying "Do it again!"

I've never had knee problems before, but my left knee has been bothering me a bit (I think it started a day or two after doing BC on Monday). I also think it's partly due to the fact that I JUMPED right into an exercise rotation at high intensity after 2 years of doing nothing (not smart, I know, but I seem like to learn the hard way). I've been making sure to do a lot of extra stretching, and my knee feels a lot better this morning, but I took it easy on the squats and lunges (only did 1/2 of them) and focused more on the leg presses and ankle weight exercises. I REALLY want to avoid injuring my knees b/c I want to rely on a lot of running for my cardio.

Good luck with PUB, Jessica. I'm having a love/hate relationship with my DOMS and I think PUB is my new favorite UB workout - I can feel EVERY muscle in my arms, chest, and back. I'm scheduled to do it again tomorrow, but I might need to give those muscles one more recovery day - we shall see . . .

Good afternoon, ladies!

Today I did Body Fusion - as I continue my quest to become at least an intermediate-level stepper! - and then one of the workouts from Ab Hits. I think it was the abs from MIS - great workout, nothing fancy. I think I am going to prefer the Ab Hits DVD to CoreMax... my neck always hurts after CM.

Kali, sorry about the headache! I hope you are feeling better.

Cleo, how did the bathing suit shopping go? I DREAD that more than anything - you have to take about 12 suits with you at a time to find a style that works. I've had lots of luck with the Anna Cole line. She designs for REAL bodies.

Jessica, I love PUB, too. Hope you ahd an awesome workout!
