Summer check-in 7/12/05

Good morning, ladies!

Today was PowerMax for me. I was going to do KPC but it was 4 AM and I wanted to do something that struck me as fun. lol I still haven't finished the third segment, though.... but the first two are really fun and I am finally feeling comfortable with the choreography.

4AM Marie! Wow I thought 5:30 was early. I do not consider KPC fun,so IMO Power Max was a better choice.lol.

I did all of LowMax but had to lose my step my combo 5!!x( I was feeling terrible. I usually do the premixes and split it in half, but I'm trying to get in an hour of cardio so I wanted to do the whole thing.
It's really hot and humid here, I hope that had something to with it. I guess my body just has to get used to working harder and longer.

Gonna do some CleanMax then out in the SunMax (my favorite). I have PLB on schedule for tonight since I walked last night instead. I don't want to be a wimp, but if I don't feel 100% I think I'll skip it.

I didn't eat nearly enough yesterday either. Think that might have something to do with feeling crappy?

Hi ladies!

I'm scheduled to do L&G and a 30 min. run, but it's not even 10:00AM yet and it's already nearing 80 degrees outside (and almost 80 in my tiny apt/oven, too!). So, we'll see how I feel about going outside after I'm through with L&G. I really want to get the best overall effect by doing cardio right after my weight w/o (especially after going out to eat a fairly unhealthy dinner last night!), but this unbearable heat is insane! It's supposed to be like this all week long (YUCK!)

Marie, PM was my very first Cathe w/o and I still love it, although I haven't pulled it out in forever!

Kali, I know what you mean about getting enough calories in to fuel the workouts we do. I really don't want to become someone who's overly obsessed with counting calories and weighing foods, etc., but I do want to make sure that I'm eating right for my body. All I've been doing is semi-keeping track of my daily protein intake. I figure that that's the most important thing to make sure I get enough of while I also try to eat clean at the same time.

Well, I think I've procrastinated enough - off to do L&G!!!

Just finished L&G and it was all I could do to keep the rivers of sweat out of my eyes - and that's with 2 fans on me the whole time!!! Needless to say, there will be no interval running today - it'll have to wait till early tomorrow morning. }(

Hi Kali--I have yet to do Low Max in full. I've only done a couple of the premixes. I will be trying it soon enough though. Should I be dreading it??? }(

Hey Cleo--How you work out at all w/no a/c is beyond me! You are one tough cookie! I have a/c on as well as a ceiling fan and in this heat I STILL sweat buckets!:eek:

So today is Circuit Max for me but not until much later in the day. I woke up later than usual today and have been lazy about getting motivated. Joey has to eat in about 30 minutes now and by the time he is finished we have to get ready to go to a dr. appointment for him. I probably won't work out until after dinner. Haven't done that since Joey was born...I will not be eating a heavy dinner then!

Good going Cleo! I always feel like I moved a mountain after that workout. I'm doing it tomorrow morning.;( I have one of those love/hate relationships w/ that wo.lol

I slept in yesterday Wendy and had a hard time getting into the swing of things. I'm still not feeling right. I see that my cylcle is due on Sunday, which means I'm PMSing, and could get it any day. I always get it 4-5 days early. So that's probably why I feel so fatigued. That and working out like a fiend. I'd probably feel fine if I were'nt working out. But hey, who wants to feel fine!;)
What is CM like?

I think I might walk again tonight. I'm supposed to do PLB, but I have L&G's tomorrow AM so I don't think that's a good idea. Plus it's a nice diversion to get away from the house for an hour. I should get to a meeting, hey I just realized I will be 17 months sober tomorrow!:7 Hooray for me! To be honest tho, I have been doing tons better since I started coming to this forum. AA saved my life, but I am not one that wants to make "it my life" as some do.

Kali, congrats on 17 months of sobriety. That is so awesome! I have not had a drink since Nov 13, 2001. I don't really go to meetings any longer except on the odd occasion, but they were really pivotal for me at one point.... they are really very much like free group therapy. ;-)

Working out works better for me! :)

That is awesome Marie! I am so proud of you. God, I've been trying since March of 2001. Took me a while to throw in the towel. I am a very strong willed person. ;-)

Today I did muscle max and the just the cardio section of cardio with weights. I also removed about 30 fairly good size stone blocks from my landscaping (we are renovating a house and the landscape is in need of some major work). However, I did not eat good today. Breakfast was clean however I went out to lunch with a friend who is pregnant with twins and ended up eating at McDonalds followed by some ice cream. I just hope I do better tomorrow with my eat...I will do better tomorrow with my eating:)

That workout sounds really good Padame. Hee hee. I absolutley love Star Wars. Don't worry about today. It's almost over. You WILL do better tomorrow. I'm using my jedi mind powers on you. lol. I'm just joking. Don't think I'm wacky or anything.
Glad you checked in. If you've been lurking you pretty much can tell we just tell each other what wo's we're doing, how we do with them, a little bit about what's going on in our days and some motivation when we need it. That's what were here for.

Boy guys, I don't want to think ahead too much but I think we'll have to continue this after summer. We can have a "get in shape for the Holidays" check in. :7 I really like checking in with you guys. It really helps keep me on my toes.

I walked again tonight for 45 min., did 200 lunges,(not walking),and the Shoulder section from L&S. So I feel pretty good. Going to jump in the pool now. Sorry Wendy. I'd fly you here if I could to hang out with me by the pool.

Hey ladies.

I STILL haven't gotten to my w/o yet and it's after 7 at night! x( My day got away from me. Right now I am eating a little something. I am going to try to start my work out before 8pm so that I can be done by 9pm. Don't give up on me yet ladies---I am determined!;)

Thanks for the encouragement. Both my husband and I are big Star Wars fans. I really like that there is a cheak in daily. I think that it will help me stayed motivated and inspired. I think a "getting ready for the holiday" check in would be great. I may not be able to check in on weekends because that is when I work (I work 12 hour shifts and have to communte 40 min. each way) but I will try. I will also try to eat cleaner on the weekends since this is my true weak spot (the cafeteria food at the hospital that I work at temps me). Anyway, I talk to ya later. I also added a 30 minute walk to my w/o. Bye!:7
 
Kali & Marie: congratulations on your hard-won success! I'm someone who has a lot of alcoholism in my family and I seriously admire those who totally turn their lives around after a difficult battle with the bottle. You two are definitely an inspiration!!! :)

I think having seasonal check-ins is a fabulous idea! I know that this check-in is DEFINITELY a major reason for my continued exercise. I can just hear it already:
- Fall Fitness Challenge
- Winter Workout Fest
- Pre-Holiday Shape-up
- Holiday Survival Challenge
- Fat Blast-off Check-in
....... and on and on......:7 :7

OK, so my goal is to get up REALLY early (for me, that means by 8:00) and do PUB and then go running. I hope it doesn't heat up till after my w/o!!!

Wendy, how'd the evening w/o go? I haven't done Circuit Max in a long time, but it was my favorite circuit w/o for quite awhile (I loved those kickboxing segments!).

Hi everyone!

Well I didn't get to post last night but I DID do my work out at about 8pm or so. I couldn't finish it though as my Joey got hungry so I did 40 minutes of CM and was about to feed him when DH came home so I gave him the bottle :) and went and did Stretch Max. I was in DESPERATE need of that! CM is definately a killer work out and I didn't even finish it! My shins were bothering me during some of the high impact though. I think I need new sneakers. I'm sure my floor isn't the best either. :-(

GOOD NEWS! I figured out how to use my HRM. It says I burned 500 cals during CM! :7

Kali and Marie: Congrats on your sobriety ladies! That is awesome!
