Who makes the best tasting Steel Oats Oatmeal? Also what is Quinoa (sp?), and it's benefits?

Thanks,Amy

Good Morning to you...

I like Bob Mills Organic Steel cut oats. It comes in a plastic bag. It cost around $2.69. It's 140 calories and 6g of protein per serving. Quaker also makes it. It's a bit more expensive around $4.99 bit the same nutritional value.

Quinoa- it's like brown rice but it taste different more nuttier. Good source of protein. It has all of the 9 esstiental amnio acids. It taste okay. I use it in substitution for brown rice occassionally. I'll mix with my beans or use it with shrimps.

Hope this was helpful.

I tried quinoa for the first time last week and really enjoyed it. I made a quinoa greek salad (served cold). This recipe kept very well and I ate it for 3 or 4 days afterwards. Very similar to brown rice but slightly different flavour (actually I think it has more flavour than rice).
I have yet to try steel cut oats but it is on my "to try" list. I just have tons of regular oats to use up first.

I"ve just had Quaker, and it's been yummy. I'd love to get some new recipes though,......someone said it could be cooked in slow cooker......yummy!
