Staying logged in

Hey everyone,

I need some help from the PC savvy folks out there. Has anyone been able to set up their profile to just stay logged on unless you log off? For instance in the old forum, everytime I came to the forums I was logged on - I believe that is because of the cookies on my pc, right? And now I have to log in every time I want to post. I tried to edit my profile and I see the option "stay logged in" on my profile preferences but there is no "yes" or "no" and no option for me to say "yes" or "no." Does this make sense? Can anyone show me the light?

Lizzie

I was still logged in when I came back. Did you bookmark the new page and use that link to return to the page?

Lisa

Nope, didn't bookmark but I never had to do that before. I just always clicked the box that said "remember my password" and I was automatically logged back in when I came back.

Same thing happens to me. And it's hard to catch, because there doesn't seem to be a "logged on as kathryn" notice like there used to be. I only figure it out when I want to post and am told I have to be logged on to post.

I think I've figured it out...

You need to make sure that you have your browser enabled to accept cookies from this web site.

In Internet Explorer go to

Tools/Internet Options/Privacy edit Websites and make sure that the following is always allowed.

69.0.137.118

Mine was initially set to block it so the cookie wouldn't save on my machine (allowing you to remain logged in).

Hope this helps!

RE: I think I've figured it out...

Sharon- thank you! I never knew about that. Where do you get those numbers? I don't see them in the address bar...

Editing to say oops, there are the numbers in the address bar!

Nope.. that wasn't it

Well, initially I couldn't stay logged in to do posts and the above fixed that.. I'll have to keep playing around to figure out how to stay logged in.

RE: Nope.. that wasn't it

Thanks Sharon. I just edited my preferences so hopefully it will work. I am having the same prob

It didn't work for me

I stayed logged in when I shut down the page and came back right away, but when I came back a few hours later, I had to log back in again. Sigh. Any other suggestions? ;(

There are still many things we have to change with the new forum software. However, we have now turned on the option to let you stay logged on.
