Stability Ball..

I love the idea of weight training with a stability ball and purchased two different ones from TJ MAXX (a dicount store here in Phoenix). I believe they were Resist-A-Balls. The small size for 5'1. However, I don't understand because mine never seem to be able to hold air. I will fill it and it will seem pretty sturdy but within a few days it is pretty limp to the point where you fall down into it!!! I used one in the gym once and was very suprised at how sturdy, thick, and "full" it seemed in comparison to my stability balls.

Can someone tell me if all of them are like this or if I am purchasing the wrong brand. The ones I have are clear and I noticed the ones on the new Cathe tapes are solid and so was the one at the gym. Do I need a solid one?
Thanks!
Janice

I got mine from Karen Voight's site. It is a Resist-a-Ball, size 55 cm (I am 5'3 and three quarters" tall) and it seems to hold air fine.

My stability ball is from Gaiam and is thick and sturdy. I have one from Reebok that I deflated and put away as it seemed much thinner and flimsy.

Hi Janice~We have the balls Cathe uses and let me tell you, they make all the dfference in the world. I was trying the PUB plankwork on my old one once and it made the workout sooo much harder. (Hard to balance) STURDY & thick is good! Here is the link for the ball. http://www.power-systems.com/CoreBalanceTraining.html Sometimes, a cool room will make the balls lose some air. (according to my hubby) We are very happy with the quality of these balls. Good Luck!

Hey Janice,
I got my stability ball at Target (on the corner of Frank Lloyd Wright and the 101, but they have them at the Target across from the PV mall and at Desert Ridge, too). Mine has never lost air and I've had it for well over a year. Part of that time it was in my office at preschool, and many a child took their turn bouncing on it! It is a Gaiam (sp?) and its green.
:)

I have a clear resist-a-ball, and it doesn't noticeably lose air. I also have a Dura ball pro and it doesn't lose air either. I think you got a lemon, unless for some reason the plug isn't seated correctly. Does it go in all the way?

Hubby is investigating my dud balls as we speak!!:) If they are bad, I know where to get a good one now!

A few of the girls at work have decided to replace our desk chairs with a stability ball!!!! One girl has already done it and she said it has really helped her lower abs! Can't go wrong, right????

Thanks guys!!

Janice
