Spring Into Summer Check-in 6/1

Hi everyone, long time no post?

I haven't had any time to read any posts for our group except yesterday's so I have no idea what's happening. Hope everyone is doing well!

Vegas was absolutely wonderful but I was so wiped out last week and could barely function- too little sleep, too much drink, time difference, etc. We went away for the Memorial Day weekend and just now I'm starting to get back into the swing of things. My eating was terrible, not on vacation but afterwards so I feel like the shape I was in is starting to slack which is bumming me out. However, today has been a nutritional start-over so hopefully I'll feel better in a few days. I'm cutting out alcohol for a while to detox myself (and my liver). I think even the 1-2 glasses I was having last week is adding up to my physique.

I've still been going to the gym, doing my HIIT, and continuing w/the HST for weights, but I'm not sure I'm getting enough out of it and I really miss doing my Cathe ME/Power Hour so I may be retiring that routine.

I needed to jump back on here cause I think this helps w/my motivation so I hope everyone had a great end of May, and here's June!! Are we changing the name? The pools are open...

Sabine, when do you leave?

Shywolf, when's your surgery?

Pinky, back on schedule w/your workouts?

How are you feeling Joy- still stretching?

Judy, how's the tennis been? I asked my husband for lessons for my birthday- we'll see if he comes through.

Welcome back, Brenda! Sounds like Vegas was an indulgent break! I had a hard time getting my eating under control after coming back from vacation, too, and I REALLY liked not working out! Last week I just forced myself to, but this week I've felt energized and motivated. Thank you for turning me on to HIIT...it made a great difference in my physique that even DH commented on (he usually doesn't say anything)!

Last Sat, DH and I did lots of yardwork and a 90 min. spinning session. I did the same workout yesterday as I want that to become my "norm" for spinning. Today is really busy, but I'm craving some Cathe, so I'll do some sort of circuit since with the increased biking I'm having trouble fitting in weights. Gauntlet, anyone?...if I have the time!

I still have to read this weekend's stuff...I'll check back later! HI to everyone!

Hi Guys;
Well today was a total flop as far as my working out, didn't sleep very well...painful heartburn and so I didn't get up early enough to do my workout before I had to go and take my kids to their eye appointments. It is 90° at the moment and I have tons of errands to finish. My best time to workout is always in the early morning.

My surgery well... I have an appointment next Wednesday for the details with my surgeon. I'd prefer not to say what it entails as it's very personal for me to post on an open board. Suffice it to say when a woman pushes out the baby from the birth canal that sometimes the baby is not the only thing that gets pushed out LOL.
Oh well it happens and I'm just dealing with it...I know I'll be more comfortable after the surgery and once I recup from the surgery itself. :::shrug:::

Pinky I want to cave and buy the new dvds too but I honestly don't have to extra $$$ as I'll be needing to get my 3 kids new clothes for when school starts up again in August. I hope to live vicaroiusly through you all who have it until I can get my own set.
 
Hello everyone. I apologize for not taking the time to read everyones post ahead of time. Buisy day today!
This weekend I was a bad girl, we had junk food fest at my house. Bad, bad, bad! Ok, but I have to say this much for myself, I had Baked doritoes and twizzlers, and low fat popcorn. It's not that bad, is it?
So, today I have to get myself to do something, but I'm not sure what just yet. It's been raining since thursday of last week, and my mood is being effected by it big time today. The weather person says that it's supposed to be sunny and 70 tomarrow though. I sure hope that they are right. Or my strawberry dreams may wash away!
WEll, I'll inform you all what it is that i fianlly worked my sefl up to doing tomarrow. Have a wonderful day!

Hi everyone,

Today was Timesaver #2 and I added on Sunrise Yoga to try to stretch out my back. Today started that TOM and my lower back is quite sore and tight. I usually don't get that much discomfort so this is unusual. I'm just happy to get THAT out of the way this week as opposed to next week when I would have been on my trip.

Good to see you back Brenda! I leave for Maui a week from tomorrow. It seems still far away and yet when I look at my list of last minute errands I'm wondering when I'll find time to get everything done. While on my vacation I plan to enjoy myself and eat and drink whatever I feel like. I've been working hard and deserve to treat myself! I'm sure I won't go to pot in just over a week!

Shywolf- Is the appointment next week just to discuss the upcoming surgery or is it the procedure itself? My thoughts will be with you.

Kathy- I'm imagining that most of us probably went 'off the wagon' with regard to nutrition because of the long weekend, bbq's, ice cream etc. Even your off the wagon is quite healthy. What's cool is that you don't seem to be stressing and are just picking up again.

Cindee- Way to go on the biking! How much longer till the big race?

ShyWolf, I hope that heartburn gets better. Also, I'll be thinking of you once you have that surgery and sending you healing vibes, for all they're worth.:)

Today has been an unplanned rest day for me. I woke up with a stiff neck, so there goes my shoulder/triceps/biceps weight work for today. I didn't want to make it worse, and I guess I could've done cardio, but I've done cardio the last two days and I don't want my knees to start complaining... So I did lots of chores and got a haircut, which I haven't done in four long months. I guess wearing one's hair in a ponytail all the time keeps one from realizing how haglike one is getting.

I hope my neck feels better tomorrow. I want to hit each upper body part twice this week.
