Spinning bike and questions about cathe's step videos

Just wanted to thank whoever it was(Nia I think) who suggested I check out Jeff Wimmer at studiocycles.com. I did end up buying a star trac spinner pro and absolutely love it. The whole experience was fantastic! Now does anyone have any favorite videos or iPod music for spinning--something really motivating?

Also, how does everyone mix and match their cardio using Cathe's videos? I just started with her basic step only because I want to get the choreagraphy first(otherwise I consider myself an advanced exerciser). I have the Hardcore series(doing muscle max and love it) and want some very challenging cardio from it as well--just haven't had the chance to start really doing it yet. Anyone able to share how her cardio videos compare say to cycling, running etc..intensity-wise that is? Presently I run 3-4 days a week, spin 1-2 days a week and do/teach TurboKick as much as possible!
Thanks so much,
Shannon

I have been doing Cathe for many years and only within the last 2 have I done any elliptical or spinning. So my approach has been the opposite of yours.
I was pleasantly surprised to find that both compared quite favorably with Cathe. I had begun to think that I wouldn't be able to find other activities as advanced (except swimming, which i have always done) I think you will find that she gives a great advanced workout, especially the IMAXes. Can't compare it to running since it has been yeeeaaarrrs since I've run :)

Hey Shannon,

I am SO GLAD that you decided to get a bike from Jeff! Isn't the spinner pro great??!! As far as videos, I really like the Energy Zone rides from spinning.com, as well as Spinervals. I'm finding the spinervals series to be incredibly challenging. They have an extensive portfolio, so let me know if you need suggestions.

I like the iTreads, Cardio Coaches and of course the Spinervals for spinning. Coach Troy of Spinerval fame is the only video instructor out there that I have found tougher than Cathe. If you are interested, I'd start with his fitness serious (which are under an hour) and then play from there. I really enjoy my "Enter the Red Zone" video which features the women from Video Fitness (and Brenda from Cathe's videos). He has you do 4 sets of iso squats, but if you're not into doing a leg day, you can stay on the bike and pedal hard standing up.
