Snow Shoveler's Delight!

I'm pretty sure I have to blame Cathe for my stronger back this winter! }( I went out to shovel my walk and felt so good when I was done, I shoveled three of my neighbors' walks! (Much to the chagrin of the people who make money during snowstorms shoveling walks!) I've been done for 1/2 and hour now and show no signs of having to lay down with the heating pad. (Full disclaimer: I live in NYC, so it's not like I'm shoveling big ole suburban areas... but there are lots of stoop steps and uneven blue slate sidewalks, so I'm pretty sure it all evens out!)

I guess all this to say that working that core and back has its benefits (or its drawbacks, depending on how you feel about shoveling snow!:7

On to Supersets 2 Rounds 75 minute premix! (Must keep going before granny back sets in!)

Here on Long Island we will end up with 12 - 18 inches by the end of the day. It's over 6" now! Both DH and I are sick with a bad cold. The worst one in years.....We are just stairing out the window saying ....why now? Oh well. It's pretty, but more fun when your a kid. But since doing CAthe w/o's over the years, shoveling has been easier, and my cardio level as well - overall.

Gretzky! That is "functional fitness" at it's best! Thank your for the first big grin of the day! It was very nice of you to help out your neighbor.

My husband grew up n New York and we took our daughter there when she was nine months old. She's almost fifteen. It was Thanksgiving and it started to snow and it was so incredible. People were so delighted and I could see the Garfield float for the Parade and it was one of thse moments you never forget. I live in Tucson, have for the past 18 years and I don't miss the freezing temps or ending up in a ditch but first snows and seeing everything decked out in it's Christmas finery is something I have come to associate with Christmas and it can be difficult to get into the spirit when it's 80 and you are staring at a Saghuaro!

Enjoy!

I grew up in California and love cold weather, so I'm in my element here! (I would always get depressed on Halloween when I was passing out candy in shorts and a tank top). I love it when it snows... it's quiet and peaceful. The noise of the city is put on hold, people smile more and there's a neighborhood feel when the kids come out and play in the street and everyone's out shoveling (you can literally go for months without seeing your neighbors in New York!)

The snow is over and there's a little bit of accumulation to shovel today. All my friends in California don't understand how a SoCal girl could love NYC so much, but I'm much more at home here than I ever was there! (If you aren't tan all year long and don't look good in lycra, fuggedaboutit!) Pasty white snowball thrower to my dog who runs to the ends of the earth to find the disintegrated bits... that's me! :7

My parents used to live in Phoenix, and every time I'd try to cross against the light (a VERY NY thing to do!) my dad would just about have a heart attack and tell me I could be ARRESTED! New York is a fabulous city to be single in (lots to do, see, eat by yourself) but a hard city to meet men in (they are all 25 or 55 and think they should be dating a 20-year-old super model!) But that's ok. I've got great friends and so much to do here, it never gets old! (O.K., when it either pouring rain or 100 degrees with 100 percent humidity and I have to carry groceries home...) When I was going to move here, my ex-boss showed me how to eat a slice... he cut a wedge from a piece of paper and folded it in half lengthwise. We called them "pieces of pizza" in CA. They are definitely "slices" here. And don't get me started on "regular coffee" meaning with milk and sugar! It's wacky, but you just gotta love the energy...
