i'm wondering which one i should get. it looks like they both have the same concept of serious weight training. any recommendations?

Hi-

IMHO, while both series are optimal for strength training, S and H is much more hard core and focused than PS.

If you don't build muscle easily and that is your goal, than I would higly recommend S and H.

But, if you are just looking for a good, well rounded strength workout than PS will be great. You will definitely make gains.

The beauty of both is that you can make it as hard or as difficult as you want by just increasing your weight load. You really won't "outgrow" either of them.

Hope I helped.

Slow and heavy is pretty intense and so I can't stick with it for extended times. For some reason, I get better results from PS-- it just seems more doable on a regular basis. I do slow and heavy once in awhile. Though I would agree that they are both worth purchasing and they are both excellent workouts!

I would definitely go for the PS Series first. Cathe recommends not staying with the S&H Series for more then 3 weeks at at time because of the concentrated focus it requires. It is a great series but I would purchase PS and then S&H later! Have fun! (BTW, I LOVE the PS Series!)

I got PS first and think I made the right decision. It's more flexible than S&H because you can do it longer. I just bought S&H and it's tough. It takes so much more concentration than PS. If you can afford both then I'd get both because they're both great but if you only want one, then PS is probably the better choice.

To confuse matters I vote for S&H. It's great for a 3 week rotation and you will be sure to get good results (both strength and definition).

I'll help confuse it more okay...there just isn't anything quite like S&H for great muscle development. Yes it does take more concentration than PS, but I'd purchase it prior to PS if I had to make the choice, simply because it's so different from her other strength/endurance vids if your looking for SERIOUS muscle development. But, I like PS too. Boy I didn't help did I.:-(

If postural muscles or rotator cuff strength is important to you, consider S&H. Cathe recommended it over PS to me for that, and it does indeed emphasize scapular retraction & has rotator cuff exercises.

I don't have PS yet, but everybody seems to really like both series. If I were in your shoes today, I'd watch the video clips on this website and then go for the one that had the music I like better. After all, you'll do it more often if you enjoy it.
