Show us your Workout area!

Cathlete
Marlas pictures got me wondering about everyones workout areas. I'll start, it's at Picture trail.

You can get a free account there for ninety days. Copy the address of the album page from your browser window. Then paste it into your signature area here at Cathe by going into the user menu (listed across the top of the page that lists all the forums) and clicking on "edit Profile" (on the left.)

I hope that makes sense, it's late, so it might not. :9

So lets see those pictures!

Wow, you neat freak! I love your one mis-step quote! So Apache likes to be in there while you workout? So does Chico & Bobble. Very cool!

My workout area is my living room. By day it masquerades as a neat and tidy room but by night it transmogrifies into a gym:p Everything is neatly put away though. I don't have any pics.

I would take pics of my work out room but right now it has been transformed into somewhat of a baby room. It is housing a changing table and a baby hamper right now lol...when Joey starts sleeping upstairs in his own room, I will get my work out room back and I will post pics...:)

My workout area is my long narrow family room and I get a warm up by sliding funiture to each end and laying down my interconnecting mats (tile floors) which are stashed in a small closet along with my weights on their rack, 3-25 pounds, two barbells and a body bar. In my laundry room I have a stack of 18 risers with the mini topper and the plates for the barbells, some of which fit inside the risers, some of which sit in front of te stack, and behind the door where the AC unit sits is my long step. Someday I am going to have a real workout room, a large one, I hope. The interconnecting mats are 4x4 I believe and I have 16 of them. At Target, I found a set of 12 1x1 (baby) mats which are great for pulling out when strength training alone is on the agenda. All the mats, the large, the small, are one of the favorite things for my cats to sharpen their claws on. They like the mats just as well as the side of the leather sofa and Ali's matress and much better than the scratching post neither of the two has ever used. :) I always put the DVD in first so the thumping baseline can call me to set up even though I find it a pain in the behind.

My workout room is the family room where I am doing the levitation hold and not my sunroom with the concrete flooring...that is just where I keep all the equipment.

Thanks, but me a neat freak??? Only that room, please don't ask to see the rest of the house!!!

Yep Kitty like to be there with me, though he's usually on his tree (which I move to the corner) by the window. Except when I'm done and doing cool down/stretches. Then he is rubbing and meowing wanting to go outside. That's our ritual, when I'm done exercising, I carry him outside for a few minutes. Other wise He's an indoor kitty. I'm always telling him "I'm not done yet, just a few more minutes, and if you keep rubbing on me....see now you're all wet and sweaty too!"

Shelley,

I used to use my living room, but I couldn't find a place for everything to go. Oh and the fact that DH didn't like finding drips of sweat on his big-screen tv. EWWW. I guess I really get into my workouts and fling all over the place....damn! now nobody will stand next to me at the Cathe classes! "<whisper> watch out for Nadine, she's a flinger!" I'll try to be careful I promise. :)

I think I'm just lucky that Apache doesn't have the royal personality that His Highness Limecat has and lets me use his room! :)

OMG Bobbi! If I had to do all that work, I think I'd always find an excuse not to workout! Good for you for keeping the motivation up!

My Puzzle mat floor does have little marks where Apache digs in for take off onto his tree. But lucky for me (and our furniture), he only uses his trees for scratching. He's such a good boy!

Cool plasma TV Nancy!! I would love to work out in front of something like that! I will have DH take pics for me manana!

Hi Liane! There you are. Let's see your workout area.
I'll bet I owe you an email, huh? I'll get to it this weekend. :D

Editing to say the thing about the couples who shouldn't hyphenate their names was hysterical! :7

Thanks, Janice. Yeah, we LOVE the TV. Definitely recommend plasma. The HD channels are awesome.

I can't wait to see your pics!!

Nancy...how are you copying your pics into this thread? The only way I know how to upload pics is thru picture trail and no way no how am I messing with that again for the third time! (I can only change my name for the free trial so many times, lol). I have a digital camera. Please explain.

Janice-
Sorry, but I had to use picturetrail. Once you have the pics uploaded to picturetrail, you just copy the locations into your post. I think the picturetrail subscription was only like $19.99 for the whole year, Janice, and I use it a lot, so it's worth it to me. Maybe you should consider subscribing?

I would have just posted the picturetrail link, but I'm not sure I want everyone to be able to see ALL my picture albums. I have a lot of stuff on there. ;)

LOL, Nancy! I can relate to the bikes hanging on the living room wall and the step stuffed under the coffee table. We don't have room for a coffee table, and I have only a high step, not the full size thing. But our bikes are on the wall, and a third of the living room is stuffed with workout stuff, and my treadmill is jammed in next to the bed. Will get around to taking pics; just too lazy. :p

Bunbun-
I knew you would be able to relate. It's a new york city thing. Where else are you gonna put the bikes, right? :7
