Set Up of Express Series DVD

Are you definitely set on putting all cardio segments in one DVD and all the weight segments in another?

I recently bought a one-disc DVD player and it seems to me it takes quite a bit of time for the DVD player to "read the disc" Meaning: I will spend at least 3-5 minutes between my cardio portion of the workout and the weight portion of the w/o just setting up the player: taking out Disc. 1; putting Disc. 2 in; having the player "read" the disk; programming the player to play the section chosen; more "reading" of the disc....etc. Believe me, it takes time.

I am wondering whether I will ever get to experience one of those workouts the way it was really intended...with no dead-time between segments...

Have you consider putting the first 3 workouts in one DVD and the next 3 workouts in another? That way, those who have a multi-disc player can still mix& match workouts without a problem and those of us, with one-disc players can also do it (within each disc) without much hassle either.

I am very interested to read your comments on this issue.

Yes, we're going to put all the cardio on 1 disc, but this should not be a problem. I've never seen a DVD player that takes 4to 5 minutes to read the disc. Yes, you will have to wait until after the FBI warning plays the required time when you put a new disc in. This is a requirement in the industry. This will only last a few seconds. Then you can instantly go wherever you want.
I too have a single disc DVD that I use that only cost about $190. It reads and changes chapters just as quick as I hit the button.
I'm curious... What kind of DVD player are you using?

all cardio/all weights

I ordered the DVDs with the understanding that there were two DVD packages to choose from: one that had all the cardio on one DVD and all weight work on another, and another which packaged each workout on a separate DVD. I ordered the second option, because I want the workouts "as is", and also don't want to continuously juggle DVDs. Did I misunderstand the package info? If so, maybe I should rethink my order and change to Video?

Cardio Kicks and CircuitMax come on one disc.
Cross Train Xpress comes on two disc: Disc 1 has all the cardio workouts. Disc 2 has all the ab and strength workouts. This makes it very easy to mix and match different cardio sections from the different videos in the series in any order you like and to do the same with strength segments.

All the segments of the workouts are divided into chapters. It should take you no more than a a few seconds to change disc and go to the strength or ab section you want. I don't think this is a problem since you are naturally going to take a slight break after the cardio.

I don't know if you have ever done a DVD workout, but the picture and sound quality is so much better. And the ability to mix and match segments or instantly chose your favorite Ab workout far exceed any disadvantages.

OK, I guess I exagerated a bit...

I have a RCA DVD.
I timed one of my daughter's Disney's dvds and it does take about 1 min. The reading of the disk is 15 seconds. THen about 35 secs. is the FBI & For Home use only screen.

And, uh, um, if you don't mind my asking,

when might we expect to see these DVD's in the UPS man's hand? I haven't been able to get the Window Media Player to work on my iMac. There's a message about downloading the 6.4, even for mac but my mac can't open exec. files and the 6.3 for mac doesn't connect or recognize the URL even if I configure manually. My heart is broken. Can you cheer it up by telling me when I can have the real thing??????? Pleassssse! See, I'v resorted to begging! 8)

Hi Forgetful!

We are supposed to receive the DVD's in either August or September depending on how fast they can get them made. So, you may want to warn your UPS man to "LOOK OUT!!!"

I am going to jump the UPS man!

I live in Tucson where one gets up at 5:00 to run and we have been so crazy busy this summer.... Well, I think I am in a slump! Those DVD's are just what I need to revamp my exercise program and I can't wait. I am like a kid in a candy shop!

DVD setup (pt. 2)

Will the DVDs come with a chart showing how each routine was designed to be done (as it is on the videos?). This would be helpful (as well as having other "suggested routines" given).
