Road Trippers!!!(Fun)

Who else will be so excited to actually have room to move around the step? I'm so excited about being able to actually complete an entire figure 8 and entire triples around the board. On the other hand, maybe I'll get winded way faster now that I actually have to make the movements around the step. LOL! Either way I'm excited! Less than 1 month left!

Hi Christi, I'm excited about being able to work out on flooring made specifically for aerobic exercise. I also haven't done a group workout in 8 years, and as much as I like working out by myself, I'm excited to work out with Cathe and everyone else who's going on the road trip.:)

Oh me too me too! Ever see that Geico ad about the tiny house? I think they snuck in & filmed it while I was at work....

I wonder what it's like to be able to do a real triple step around the board? And the figure 8s? I can't wait either!

Christi -

I think the same thing everytime I almost knock over my TV doing triples around the board! And my outer thigh around the world has to be modified on one side of my step so I don't kick over the TV!

I know... It just won't be the same doing triples around the board while banging my knees on the coffee table and tv-stand. ;) And it won't be the same doing any workout without my cats trying to sit on the step, or sit on ME. Really, I think I'm going to have to bring at least one cat with me because chest press just isn't the same without a kitty sitting on your tummy! :D

My cat lies under my step when I use it as a weight bench. Occasionally she'll reach out and 'touch' me with her claws!

I'm looking forward to doing triples around the board without having to get intimate with some of the potted plants in my living room!

Christi,

I am so right there with you! I've been thinking the same thing ever since I signed up for this trip. I'll actually have room to work out! My workout space is sooooo tiny! The space is about 1.5 feet at the "front", 2 feet at the sides (actually maybe less), maybe 4 feet at the back (probably a little less than that). So when Cathe starts doing triples around the step, I have absolutely no room to do it. I couldn't do ricochets forever because I had no room to even try the move (or else I think I would've literally become one with the tv !). :) As for lunges on the step? I have to do them diagonally. I cannot face the tv straight and do them. Same with leg kickbacks. And when she goes to the other side of the step to do them? The tiniest leg kickbacks you ever saw! :p Looks so pitiful. But it cannot be helped; I have no room! But I will on this road trip!

Can you tell I'm just a bit excited?! :9

Ha! Remember last December LAURA (i'm practicing) when you couldn't see your tv for the christmas tree?! Now THAT is no room! this is gonna be so much fun!

Atta girl! LOL!

I think this year I'm gonna try to find a different place to step b/c unfortunately I have no other place for my Xmas tree. :p

There ARE going to be 110 of us. I know the studio is huge, but still, that's a lot of step benches to squeeze in. I'm figuring we'll all come home bruised from kicking each other:p

I'm not sure I'm liking the whole mirror idea. I like thinking that I look just like Cathe and her crew when I'm working out:p

I, too, am intimidated by the thought of working out in front of mirrors. Since I can't work out in front of a mirror at home, it will be the first time I'll be able to check my form, and I am sure I am in for a real shock.

"Holy cow, I look like a squid on speed when I do kick-straddles around-the-world!!"

This is so funny reading everyone else's comments about lack of room. I have a pretty good amount of space, but occasionally I do have my issues.

For some reason on peg-leg pivots, I almost run into the wall on the left hand side of my step. I guess because of the angle you are taking on the pivots.

I also have the same issue with the around the world moves, not kicking my entertainment center on one side.

I can't remember the video, but you do a series of grapevines, (I think it's circuit max), and I end up in my foyer!!

I was reading Maximus' post about Rhythmic step earlier, and thinking that I should revisit it before the road trip to refresh my memory!!

Getting excited too!!

I ddi Step Blast this morning & did triples...tripped over the corner of my coffee table and almost killed myself. Yup, it's gonna be nice to have some room to move around ;)

You know, I was thinking this morning that I always do ricochets backwards. I turn the opposite way that cathe does. It just feels more right to me. I hope there are no richochets in step class or I may bump into a few people.... Either that or I need to train myself for the next 3-4 weeks on doing it the other way...

For the time being I have more than enough room to do whatever. Jump as high as I want, figure 8, peg leg pivot and never hit a wall or bump into anything. In my gym there's a dojo area for Tae Kwon Do, so I use that area whenever I'm doing step aerobics. The only thing that bothers me sometimes is the fact that everyone outside can look inside.....glass windows & door, street level.

I still make mistakes. Sometimes I go out a little too far when doing a figure 8 and have to skip/run back to the step:+ :+

Haydee, that was such a GREAT visual. I was laughing outloud! Don't tell...but I do the SAME thing!

When I set up my living room for working out every day, I have to line my step up to the exact center of the room to get enough room for triples around the board. Figure 8's, on the other hand, are fine on the right side but the piano is in the way for the left. You know that pianos don't move when you run into them? I've been trying to sell that piano just to get more room. Anyone want to buy it?

When we get to the roadtrip my worry is that I'll be moving left when everyone is moving right as that seems to happen to me on more than a few occasions. With more than 100 people I can envision a few 'impacts', especially among those in the back who might be relying on voice alone to guide them through the moves. Maybe I should wear a helmet just to be safe.
