What did you do? I start my "active rest week" tomorrow and I am in need of ideas. I am a little nervous about not lifting for an entire week....Do we really even need to take a rest week??????
Yes, you need to take a recovery week. I did cardio and yoga during my recovery week and didn't miss lifting at all. Your body needs to recover from the exertion of the Meso so you can return refreshed. If you keep lifting during the recovery week, I don't think you would have as good results as if you did the program as Cathe prescribed, IMO.
Yesterday was the last day of my rest week. I walked and did some pilates as well as moved my house (which felt like a cardio and weight workout!) I was concerned that it would feel very weird and wrong to not lift for a week, but my body appreciated the break. Today I went for a 8 mile hike and tomorrow I begin again with Meso 2. Don't worry your body will appreciate the break.
Definitely take the rest week, Cathe knows what she is talkin' about!
I'm finishing off M3 this week, both rest weeks I was kind of freaking out about it, and both times, I came back and felt so much stronger for it. It also gave me a chance to get in some of my dvds that I'm not able to fit in as much during STS weeks.
