Question about weights in Hardcore series

Cathlete
Hi Cathe,

I'm a huge fan and have raved about you to anyone and everyone who'll listen since I discovered you in December. And I can't wait for the new series to come out so I can rave even more! (I'm sure some will think I'm ranting, but who cares about them:))

Here's my question: Would it be possible for you to mention the weight amounts you're using during the strength segments in the Hardcore Series? I like to guage the amounts I use based on what you're lifting. I've noticed in the PS series that you'll mention the weights you're using at times. Other times I try to see the amounts that are on the barbell or the free weights and guesstimate. It'd be great if you could help me out. Then too, I can aspire to lift the same amount as you on all the exercises-one day!!

Many thanks,

Klaudia

Oh I would LOVE that too! I know we're supposed to do whatever's best and most challenging to us personally, but for some reason knowing what you're doing helps me A LOT - for my own personal goals and as a gauge to my progress. Funny, even though I rarely do the same weight as you do, when you don't mention how much you're using I feel a little lost!
thanks!

me too! me too! Even tho' I don't always use the same weight, it helps me to know whether to pick up a 12 pounder if Cathe's using a 15 or a 15 when she's using a 20 until I can get there!! Additionally, having the weight amounts listed on the outside packaging would also help so that we can get all our equipment out and ready to go before getting started. Thanks! Cathe, you ARE the best!!!!

eEs! Giving the weights used gives me a place to start. I usually can go with the weights given. When the weights aren't given I have to experiment and find the right weight, then rewind and start the exercise over. That's frustrating.

Hey Stephanie...is GoWings referring to the Detroit RedWings???

I'm a huge Stevie Y fan...DH takes me to all the Blues games when Detroit is in town. Hope there is a season this year.

Just curious!

Sami

Hey Sami,

I've been a huge Steve Yzerman fan since I was 14. He's the only man I'd ever leave my husband for!:) I have an autographed hockey stick, photos, etc. We live in the suburbs of Detroit and love the Wings. Stephanie, if you live in the metro Detroit area, we have to get together! How great to have Cathe and the Wings in common.

Sorry about the tangent everyone-just got a little excited!

Klaudia

Sami and Klaudia -

Yes, I live in Plymouth, and Stevie Y is also the only man I'd ever leave my husband for! (And my husband understands...) Matter of fact, I have a signed lithograph of Stevie staring at me right now across from my desk...hard to get work done! We are Wingnuts, and yes, I sure hope there is a season this year. I have tickets for a game in September that I don't think will be used:-(

(I actually have a huge Wing on one wall of my workout room that my brother and I sketched and then painted when we first moved in...and banners of the most recent three cups - it's inspirational to workout around items that exemplify such dedication and workmanship).

Where 'bouts do you live Klaudia? That would be awesome to get together sometime!

(Sorry about the tangent, everyone!)

Oh My!!

I have a huge Stevie Poster from Sports Authority that my husband got out of the store - you know the really huge ones they hang around. Its in my workout room. He got me an autographed picture for Christmas - and YES my husband knows he's the only guy I'd leave him for and he too understands. For my birthday (obviously a few years ago) he took me to the Stanley Cup Parade in Detroit - the 2nd one! It was exactly on my birthday. I took a ton of Stevie pictures.

Cool Klaudia and Stephanie! DH is a HUGE Blues fan and it was his fault that he took me to the first game at St. Louis when Brendan Shannahan was traded to the Wings...I went to watch him and got hooked on the guy I said "Hey, he skates much better than Shanny...hubby says, yeah thats Stevie Y...hall of fame material". We've only missed one Wings game since at St. Louis. Tried to get tickets to watch a game IN Detroit but haven't have any luck.

:D :D :D Sami

Sami,

When (if?) the hockey season starts, I really hope you can see a game here in Detroit. There's nothing like Joe Louis Auditorium full of Wingnuts! We get offered tickets quite a bit; email me your email address and I can offer some to you in case you are in town! (DH is a little agoraphobic and it's tough to get him to games sometimes...)

My email addresses (either works) are:

[email protected]
[email protected]

I even go to the Red Wing's dentist... I have issues!

I'm so excited!!

Stephanie, I live in Chesterfield Twp. And I totally agree about seeing a game at JLA, there's nothing like it! I haven't been in 2 years and it looks like it'll be longer now.:( Sami, you'll have to try and make it up here-you can stay with us! We're like family now!:) Stephanie-ain't no better dentist than one that caters to hockey players! I can't wait to chat more.

I'll go now-before I'm kicked off for being way off topic! I just love these forums! Thanks Cathe!!

Cathe - it does help

Another "Please Cathe". It really is very helpful when you tell us what weight you're using as you start an exercise for us to use as a gauge. I know we're supposed to be keeping that little notebook handy but it doesn't always happen.

More thanks.

Debra
