Pyramids...is it just me???

Or does everyone else feel sore in every single solitary muscle in their body after doing the Pyramid tapes? Wow. It's a deep, intense, "that's the way to work" soreness too. These tapes are just insanely good. They move quickly and get SO much done in what feels like such a short time. And because you only have to do 8 reps at the highest weight, I'm using heavier weights than I ever have before! What I continue to forget during these workouts is that we have to come BACK DOWN the pyramid. Yeeouch! It's incredible what the lightest weight feels like once you get back down there. Shakey, shakey! And how about the ab work on the upper body tape??!! Incredible! I've fallen in love with these Pyramid tapes and honestly, out of the entire Series, these were the two that I anticipated the least.

Someone asked earlier about results with the Intensity Series...and I'd say that these two deliver them PRONTO! (It also doesn't hurt that the rest of the Series is stellar too and the tapes compliment each other, as well as Cathe's other tapes, perfectly)

And, hats off to you DVD'ers. You are coping well. By now, I'd be a wreck with anticipation. I guess I'm not helping matters much, huh?

I must agree with you. It's actually been about 3 days since I did PLB and I'm still feeling it deep in my legs. That stability ball work - WOW! :-wow
I love these 2 tapes and love the effect they're having! Susan

I love them also. I did the lower body tape for the first time today and I'm wondering if I'll be able to walk tomorrow. I need to go heavier on the squats and lunges next time. I didn't know what to expect, so I went kind of light. I think when I wake up tomorrow I'll be glad I went light though. I've done the upper work workout three times now and the third time was the first time I was able to balance on the ball and actually start to feel something. I did try a couple of the pikes, but it wasn't happening. I won't give up, though, as it is getting better. You notice I didn't say easier.

Yeah, they seem to work deep into the muscles, because by the time you get back down the pyramid to that lightest weight, you're glad to be there, but even 12 reps of that is frying your muscles!
And the sore you feel afterwards is like WOW!
You can really feel the muscles working with these workouts!

No, it is not you at all. I just did the upper body pyramid this morning and it was a killer. I, too, enjoyed the fact that they were quick sets but you got all muscles worked to failure. Shaking is putting it mildly. I used the same weights as Cathe but decided I need to bump mine up a few pounds (gotta hit Sports Authority this weekend). I will definitely let you know how sore (since I am already feeling it and it has only been 4 hours since I did the tape). I am doing lower body tomorrow. I hope it is as smooth as upper body was...)

Oh, you guys! I ordered DVD, and you're making the wait soooo hard! These are the ones I've been most anticipating! Thanks for sharing~ They sound well-worth the wait!

I'll be different

Pyramid upper body isn't making me very sore. I'm a more um....mature exerciser & I find I need to allow 72 hours between weightlifting sessions. I've actually been able to do PUB with only 48 hours rest. I will say I'm working my way up the pyramid very gently, especially with my shoulders, but I'm seeing strength gains already without monster DOMS, actually it's more like baby DOMS!:D Today I invested in a pair of 1 lb. wrist weights to help shorten the gap when I'm able go from 12-15 & 15-20 lbs. on some exercises.

I love these pyramid tapes. I can really feel it the next day!! And I have noticed more muscle definition. I have to admit I love the ab work but am terrible on that stability ball. At least it is giving me a challenge whew!! Those up in the air pike/jack knife things are going to kill me!

I just wanted to add also that I love PUB. I did it for the first time this morning. It moved so fast. I liked how biceps were last,
usually after working them it is really hard for me to do triceps.
I need alot of practice with the ab section though.

It's the leg presses with the loaded barbells that absolutely, positively wipe me up. Boy, is it ever a lot harder than doing it with dumbbells!! I was panting by the end.

Could be too that I raised my stool to 14 inches. I had previously done the leg presses with 12 inches because my rationale was that I was short at 5 ft tall. The way I'm feeling, I just might go back to 12".

But what really tuckered me out was the leg work with the stability ball (hate the thing but will hopefully grow to love it).

I love PUB, especially the fact it's done with dumbbells only. Those barbells are cccccccccold - I'm surprised my hands don't stick to them like tongues to frozen flagpoles. I'm having trouble with the heat (or lack thereof) in my apartment and it's been recordbreaking cold here in Toronto.

Well, have a great weekend everyone! I'm off to buy a space heater.
