Pyramid upper is so deceptive

Hi ladies,
I have been on a CTX kick for awhile, but I got a little bored so I did Pyramid upper the other day. I was loving it, thinking "this is so easy" . When Cathe starts out with 3 lb dumbbells for shoulders I was feeling like Wonder Woman and thinking "I'll just start with fives." Yeah right. Oh Man, am I feeling it today. My lats are killing me, and I feel like I've been beaten. I went to play golf and I felt every swing. I am loving those pyramids! It really hit the muscles in a different way.

Who has chosen to blame her lousy golf game on Cathe

I am completely humbled by this tape. I think it's one of the hardest upper body tapes I own, and I really need to put it into my rotations more often.

LOL and ROTFL - I know exactly what you mean. When Cathe pulls out the 3's I think - ah you wimp! I'll do 5's. Then when I get to 7's I'm crying and I give up when I go up to just 8's. Its funny how some muscles (for me especially particular movements, like front raises) are a lot weaker, or can handle so much less weight. If I go to 8's I can do 2 or so, and then I just can get my arm up much more than about 10 inches.

I always wonder about that - is it better to do 2 full ones at 8 and then drop to 5's or try them all at 8, but just not lift very high. I always assume that if you can no longer keep the form, then you should drop down the weight. But then it makes me wonder how you can ever crash through to the next weight?

If any of that made sense! hehe

my 2 cents...

For shoulders, I do:
fly (?) 8, 8, 10, 8, 8
lats - 8, 8, 10, 8, 8
forward - 5, 5, 8, 5, 5

sometimes i have to hit the stop button because I go a little slower and have to switch weights.

I ALWAYS have to stop the tape during the biceps part - I just cannot keep up with her and I want to stay with the heavier weights.
