PROTEIN POWDER

Hey guys! Well I wanted to start a new rotation next week. I've currently been doing PH twice a week and some sort of cardio three times a week. I'm not overweight and want to build muscle and increase strength. I was thinking about doing each PS tape once a week (splitting the leg tape and tacking each half onto the upper body tapes so I could consolidate the whole series into 2 days) and then on another day do MIS... so I'd be doing 3 weight workouts each week and only 2 cardios. I was worried about dropping down to 2 cardios, but I'd be adding another weight day and I'm pretty active in my daily life. So, I was thinking about taking protein powder in my soy milk at breakfast. Would this be beneficial to me and help me meet my goal? Is the above rotation enough to build strength and muscle? I can only spare 5 days/week for roughly an hour each day to workout, so this rotation is the best I could come up with. Then I was thinking about getting LL and the CTX upper body split, and after doing the PS/MIS rotation for about 12 weeks, move on to do CTX Upper twice a week and LL once a week, still staying at 2 cardios. Sorry this is so much at once! But I'd really appreciate any advice on rotations and protein powder... and if you could give me a brand name of powder to try, great! Thanks again! Healthy regards to all....

Hi! I've tried several protein powders and I like Designer Whey Protein powder, in chocolate, and Labrada's Chocolate mix. Labrada is VERY high protein and a bit more costly than Designer but you do get double protein in it, compared to Designer.

I can't give much advice on the nutritional impact adding protein powder would give you, but taste-wise, we really enjoy Spirutein, especially the cookies and cream flavor, but any that we've tried have been good!

Thanks guys! I have heard that Whey protein is more complete then soy, but then again I thought that soy protein was as complete as animal protein. I have asked a nutritionist which she recommends and am waiting for her reply. Anyway, I still want rotation suggestions... any advice is helpful! I'm going to start the PS/MIS rotation next week. I can't wait!
Thanks again!

Hi Sarah!

I think both of your rotations sounds wonderful! If you're not really needing to lose weight, then dropping down to 2 cardios per week shouldn't be a problem. And if you find that it is then you can always add in another cardio session. I've never occured to me to split up the PS series in the way you're planning - great idea, I'll have to remember that! :) This sounds like a good plan for building strength and hopefully gaining some muscle mass (or just definition). I would think that if you were increasing the poundage as you became stronger there would be some muscle gains. Maybe some of the more experienced, more knowledgeable posters here will comment also. :)

I can't say much in regards to the CTX UB and LL because I don't have either of these tapes, I plan to purchase them soon though!

Hope you get more responses! :) I can't wait to read them myself!

Enjoy your workouts!
:) :)
