Premixes?

wonderwoman

Cathlete
If I do premixes only from cathe's dvd's in your opinion will I reap the same benefits as if I were to do the full workout?

I'm asking because lately all I can seem to get in is 45-50 minutes a day and I thats in the early morning before I go to work.

For those early folks what do you guys eat before a weight training workout? I know you can fast for cardio.

Thanks for your opinion guys !!!!!

Hi,

What kind of benefits are you talking about? Health, emotional, fitness, strength, endurance, weight loss? You can get great results from the premixes for sure in all of the above categories.

Here are a few of my thoughts:

1. Just because a workout is longer doesn't mean it's better or will get you better results. My workouts are 20-60 minutes and I don't exercise more than 5-6 hours a week.

2. I used to think that if I didn't have an hour a day to exercise then it wasn't worth it. Now I understand that there are days/times in my life when I can only get 20-30 minutes and that counts too! In fact, when I know I only have 20 minutes I really make it count.

3. Consistency in doing exercise and the intensity and focus that you bring to the workout are more important than duration of exercise.

Personally I usually workout on an empty stomach (cardio or strength) or if I really feel like I need something I have 1/2 banana. I'm one of those people who don't feel good with food in my stomach before exercise. However I always have a good mix of carbs/protein after a workout.

Congratulations on your weight loss!

I'm talking about overall all fitness and just keeping the muscle definition that I already have.

I was just like you too about thinking if I didnt do cathe's workout in its entirety that it was just a waste and I'm trying to get away from that train of thought.

I really never did premixes and I realize that I'm just getting tired! :(
I discovered cathe in nov. 2005 and just love her and do all her workouts!

I also know diet in most important so I'm trying to convince myself that if I do her rotation with the premix options and keep the diet clean all week and lighten up on the weekends that I should be good.

Thanks for your input and for listening...

Don't be scared off by the premixes as alot of them are much harder than the original workout, especially in her newer workouts where the premixes are not just shortened version of the original but the original put together differently, and even the shorter ones can be harder or even entirely different workouts. I do the Upper Body x2 premix from BodyMax2 for a great upper body workout that makes me more sore than doing PUB as is for instance. And in PUB, I do the "up" only premix almost all the time, and though it's shorter than the original, I can lift heavier b/c there arent as many reps and I see better results in half the time.

Dont Fear the Premixes!!!

The premixes are a lot of fun and they can add variety to a workout. They are really useful and fun!
