Pot belly Pig syndrome...help!

Hi Cathe,

I have a question about ab and back work to help eliminate some of the "excess" around my waist. (How many times have you been asked about this, I wonder?) I am a 27 year old, work from my home wife, so I feel I can sneak some serious ab work in during the day. (I am quite prepared to do reverse crunches to the point of quivering fatigue and exhaustion, daily, if necessary.) I also have a problem on my sides/low back, I just don't know what to do to get rid of it! I know that genetics are involved and I'm not looking for six-pack abs-but I don't want to pinch an inch anymore!!

BTW - I just ordered 5 new (to me) videos: MIC, MIS, PowerMax, StepFit, and StepJam. In addition to these I have BodyMax, IMax, StepHeat, & The Wedding Video.

As you can see, I think that I need cardio to burn off the excess fat - I can feel the muscles in there, I just can't see them!!

If you can offer any advise on a rotation or some ab/back exercises that I could incorporate?? Any of your vast expertise would be GREATLY APPRECIATED!

Tricia L.

Do the new tapes and you'll get lean,

really lean in no time. Try to eat only what you expend and that potbelly (lol) syndrome will be on its way out! Cathe's tapes are absolutely the best. Don't you think so? Keep plugging away at it!

Hi Tricia!!

I edited out my original post. . . I didn't see that you had already said you were only 27. I wrote a long post about Debra Waterhouse's book "Outsmarting the Midlife Fat Cell" without realizing that you are probably too young for this to be perimenopausal weight gain!! hehe. It sounded like that perimenopausal PATTERN (weight gain around the back, sides, waist, belly) to me but apparently not!

The tapes are in the mail, yeay!

Thanks so much for the encouragement. I agree, Cathe is making the BEST workouts available. I agree about eating only what I need - I actually think my eating pattern is a big problem. I don't usually eat until 12:00 or 1:00 p.m. (I can only stand some coffee in the morning.) Ever since I started working at home, I really only eat one meal a day. If my thinking is correct, I may actually need to eat more often (small snacks), in order to get my metabolism squared away! (I also have Hypothyroidism, so I'm taking pills to get my metabolism up where it should be.)

I'm so glad you posted - it helps to have all the encouragement!!

Susan, you cracked me up!

I did the same thing in a post last week!! Glad to know I'm not the only one who gets so interested in the threads. I love this forum!!
