Oh boy. Well, I didn't do such a great job yesterday. My workout was great and my protein intake fine, but I also ate half a cookie and a few Smarties. I'm having a much harder time this go around with the No Sweets thing, and keep questioning why I'm doing it. Any advice or help would be appreciated.:)

How is everyone else doing?

Shelley you did better than me! Had a bad day so I messed up on sweets terribly. But I am starting my day off good! Drink 16oz water, and that is better than nothing. didn't get my workout done yesterday, so I will do it today and not have a day off Sunday. Oh, I did do 5 pushups on my toes! Hey, my goal is 10 by the end of the month.

Hope everyone has a good weekend!

Shelley~ Don't worry about doing better in June than this time around. It is only one cookie here or there, and not a whole bag and remember that you said in June you didn't realize how many cookies you used to eat. I am sure that you are not up to that previous level. I am sure that your fitness level is great and you don't need to lose much if anything at all!!

I did no sweets with you in June and saw a HUGE difference in my body. I did well with the goal into July, except for the last 2 weeks. Well in those 2 weeks I gained about 5 pounds!! For me I need to say NO completely and need this NO SWEETS check-in. I thought that I could do "one or two" of whatever, but I couldn't and I can't. If you are limiting sweets, you are doing better than pre-no sweets check-in.

That said... What you are doing having any cheats??!! You are my inspiration!!! You are the reason that I went cold turkey on my junk intake in June and finally figured out that I DO have will power!! You are our no sweets leader!!
Just kidding, of course!:)

So far I am still staying on August05 rotation. I did eat a cookie yesterday as well shelley. I am not even sure why. I was very hungry and craving it so I caved. I also didn't really get Anything done in my goal to declutter the condo. Hopefully I will do double today! I am in a bad/weird mood today and I don't know why. So I better go workout and see if that helps.

Shelley, don't feel so bad about a half a cookie and a couple smarties. I have a problem of once I start eating something bad I don't stop. For example, if I were to eat one cookie then my brain would say "okay you've already been bad so you might as well make it worth your while" and then I eat the whole bag, plus potato chips, plus cheese and cracker, plus some beers, etc., etc., etc. It's a horrible spiral and the guilt I feel afterwards is horrible. Unfortunately I'm an "all or nothing" gal. The only good side to that is that it makes eating absolutely NO sweets easier if that make sense. I just won't allow myself any or I know I'll eat half the kitchen.:p

Anyway, my goal for this weekend was to eat completely clean for the entire weekend. Now, I've done great so far, but I am fighting with myself because I REALLY would like maybe I glass of wine tonight and maybe a slice or two of pizza. But then we come back to the "all or nothing" thing. I really need to learn the meaning of the word "moderation".

So far so good!

I have already reached my water quota (it is very hot here). I have had a healthy breakfast and lunch and no sweets.

But, then again I'm motivated today because my diet went on a short vacation and had a really good time!

Moral of the story: for those who have had a cookie or two or even three, don't sweat it! I wish that was all I had!

Hello Shelly and everyone,

Shelly, I think you are being too hard on yourself. I think you are doing exceptionally well. I think what's happening now is that it is getting harder to maintain the "no sweets" rule because your duration of avoiding sweets is getting longer. And let's face it, sweets are everywhere, they are very very hard to avoid. That's why I've decided to just "limit" them. For me saying "no" is too restricting and just sets me up for disappointment. It's the same principal as "no carbs" and after awhile, that get's tired. It's human nature to crave sweets and variety. "Limiting", at least for me, takes away the "perfectionism" of dieting. This has been working out very well for me. Doing this, I get the best of both worlds and for some reason, I'm more likely not to "rebel" this way. Anyway, that's just my two cents, hope it helps.

Here's my check-in:

1) 8/8 cups of h20 -- check

2) Limit sweets--- check-- no sweets yesterday

3) Eat dinner at least 2 hours prior to bedtime---check

4) August rotation -- check--completed Day 5

5) No late night visits to fridge --check

Have a good day :)

Katrina

Thanks for the kind words, everyone. I've decided that I was insane to do a No Sweets challenge when I'M ON VACATION! Aren't you supposed to allow yourself some treats on vacation? So anyway, during this week of vacation, I'm going to be a little easy on the no sweets thing.:) I had three bites of my SO's ice cream bar tonight. That's pretty good, I think. Used to be I would have had my own and inhaled it, but three bites was more than enough.

Hi ladies!

Yesterday not only did I miss my work out but I did really BAAAAAAD on my water!!! I think I consumed a single 15 ounce glass when I got home last night and a little before bed and that was it! x( Today I did good though...I have 90 ounces in so far!!!:)

Yes Shelley. A vacation is meant to be LIVED!!!! So enjoy yourself and just do some extra cardio...if you know what I mean}( }( }( }( }( !!!

Tammy

Shelley, you are such an inspiration, so I agree, cut yourself some slack on vacation!!!
I did Low Max 1-3 today, plus most of upper body from CTX. I just can't do more than 1 1/4 hrs - I still have trouble with eating enough calories to balance it out - especially with low fat & limiting sugar. Still low on protein & high on fatsx( how does one get the rations right? No hi-fructose or partially hydro, so that's great. oh well, guess I better buy some protein powder & add it to my diet.
Congrats to all you ladies who are doing so well!
