Yesterday I did a 45-minute Peloton walk. Today I did a 30-minute Peloton ride and a 1-hour restorative yoga class.

Carolyn-Great job with JS One Mile of Motivation, Step Boss Extended Chair Stretch and yoga/mobility.

Hi to Valerie, Cathy & Shannon

Good morning. Friday I did balance work and yoga. Saturday I went for a 5-mile road walk first thing in the morning, before people started moving around. Traffic was light, and nobody tried to run me over. I also raked leaves for about three hours and took the dog for several walks. It would be interesting to know how many total miles I walked. Sunday was my day off, simply from lack of time. I really wanted to do some sort of workout.

Judy – I envy your weather. Wow, how lovely! We are still in the 80s, which is better than the 100’s of course.

Carolyn – Thanks for starting us off every week. I hope you had a good weekend too!

Valerie – I hope you had safe travels over the weekend and that your back feels a little better.

Hi to Cathy, wherever you are!

we did the drive yesterday. mostly ok except for one big crash near Missoula that stopped traffic for at least half an hour. nothing to do but wait. a lot of folks were driving over the concrete divider and driving the wrong way up an on ramp! or backing up the on ramp. didn't cause any further wrecks but we just waited it out. people in more rural areas are so careless about merging onto an interstate. they dont even look to see if they can merge or if there are already cars in the right lane. we were guessing that someone did something stupid like that and forced the truck to crash since this was right after an on ramp merge. my back and hip aren't especially happy but they never are. make the best of it. hopefully some info in the next 2 weeks.

shannon that is what we do when we ride on roads. pick right time of day and day of the week and get out there early. so far we haven't gotten run over.

Valerie - Sunday morning used to be a great time to walk. It's always very quiet until people start leaving for church. But now I've started going to church, so I don't have time. Sigh. I know we don't discuss religion here, so that'll be the only time I mention the "C" word, LOL. It's just that I really do miss those Sunday morning walks. Too bad I have to work. It's very quiet out there in the middle of the day.

Today I did Rev’d Up Rumble, 41 minutes, 228 calories burned, average heart rate 117, and maximum heart rate 144.

Judy, great job with the Peloton walk, Peloton rides, and 1 hour Restorative Yoga.

Shannon, nice job with balance and yoga, the early morning road walk, and raking leaves for 3 hours!

Valerie, I’m glad that you made it safely and the traffic accident delay wasn’t too long.

Hello to Cathy.

Shannon sunday morning is one of the best times to bicycle otherwise busy roads. mostly its the quietest traffic morning. no commute and most weekend adventures start saturday. im not a religious person so i will take advantage of peace and quiet and fewer people trying to kill me on the roads. thi is a farming area. even crop harvesting is less busy sunday morning. we usually are done 10-10;30 that is a lot of walking along with yoga and balance work.

i did my stretches this morning after none yesterday. turns out we need to drive somewhere today and get our truck serviced so our hopes of a "drive" day are done. its only an hour each way.

carolyn when i get my hip fixed rev'd up rumble will be the workout i will want to try. i always likeed it.

I’m still out here! Last week was a weird week. Saturday I drove to Cleveland and did the zoo, then I drove to Marietta OH. Got up yesterday morning to head out and was immediately in WV. nice drive, though curvy and (what Valerie would consider baby elevation chamges). This morning I did Boss Bands Total Body and Restorative Yoga. My sister has an old ankle injury, high school, that’s causing her issues and so our hiking is minimal. Saving it for the zoo on Wednesday. It’s a BIG zoo. We’re going to an area for sunset tonight. Fall colors are still good here.

Shannon do you have a phone that tracks steps?

Today I did a 20-minute Peloton upper body workout, a 20-minute Peloton ride and my PT work.

Shannon-Great job with your balance work, yoga and 5 mile walk. Getting out early for your walk was a good idea. This week isn’t as nice weather wise as last week was. It’s been mostly overcast today and it is cooling off a bit.

Carolyn-Great job with Rev’d Up Rumble.

Cathy-Great job with Boss Bands Total Body and Restorative Yoga.

Valerie-Great job getting your stretches in. I hope you can get your hip fixed soon.

Good morning. I visited a friend after work yesterday, so I didn’t have time for a workout. I guess I’ll have to make it up this weekend. Last Friday, I worked in spreadsheets all day, doing lots of repetitive moves. Guess what? I managed to give myself tendonitis in my left hand. Wonderful. It’s going to take forever to get rid of it since I have to type all day, five days a week. Sigh.

Carolyn – good work with Rev’d Up Rumbe.

Valerie – Bummer about needing to get your truck serviced. But we have to take care of those things!

Cathy – You’re back! I’m glad all is well. I hope you and your sister have a good visit, even without hiking. Yes, I have a phone that tracks steps, but I don’t like to carry it. I remember the good old days when phones were plugged into the wall, and when you left the house, you were out of reach, LOL.

Judy – Nice job with the Peloton upper body and ride, and your PT work. Hey, enjoy the cloudy weather. Sometimes I wonder if the sky still makes clouds. Although things are looking promising this weekend.

Today I did P 30 Perfect Pump Upper Body, 37 minutes, 172 calories burned, average heart rate 118, and maximum heart rate 151. I tried to handle an estate issue with a quick phone call before my workout. It didn’t go as planned. I spent 30 minutes on the phone explaining my problem, being transferred to 3 different people only to be cut off by mistake! I was not in the mood for a workout after that but I did it anyway.

Valerie, Rev’d Up Rumble is a fun workout and easy to modify if necessary. I hope that you can get back to it after your hip surgery.

Cathy, nice job with Boss Bands Total Body and Restorative Yoga. I’m glad that you’re having good trip.

Judy, great job with Peloton Upper Body, Peloton ride, and PT.

Hello to Shannon.

it was routine service on our truck. here it works best to use the dealer so the drive yesterday was worth getting it done. we have an odd battery and oil filter and a lot of the lesser known places may not have the right thing. batteries have gotten WAY more expensive than they used to be but cant live without one! over $300 with the install fee. Ford ranger truck. the battery is not a simple connect/disconnect thing.

went to the park today and did a hike. 2 hours and 40 minutes. not a hard one but definitely uphill and down . the elevation here is about 6000 feet and that alone makes it hard. there is no way to acclimate but go do something and breathe hard. we saw lots of critters although only foot prints on the hike itself. bison, wolves coyotes and a grizzly bear. lot of bear prints there as fresh snow and mud so we got good prints to look at. didnt see any of the print makers. it is hunting season here( deer elk) so we will stick to the park. it is way way less busy than a month ago. like 5% of the previous population. much better. i will put up with colder ad a little snow to dodge a million people.

my back got kinda sore but my hip did ok. its extremely weird how this gets better and worse for no particular reason.

Good morning. Yesterday was cardio. I decided to walk as fast as possible around the perimeter of our property. It was an interesting experience. Down in the fields was fine, but up on the hill in the woods was actually a bit of a challenge. It was awkward to try and walk fast while keeping an eye out for fallen branches under the leaves, and also dealing with unstable footing on the leaves. It was also noisy up there, LOL. Very dry, crunchy leaves! Going around twice took an hour and 10 minutes. I may try just the fields next time and leave the woods for enjoying nature.

Carolyn - I'm sorry you had so much trouble with the estate issue. What a pain. But good job pushing through to do your workout!

Valerie - Your hike sounds lovely. So cool to see so many critters' footprints. I know you've got hip arthritis, but what is wrong with your back? The way it comes and goes reminds me of arthritis too, how sometimes it can hurt and other times not.

Hello to Judy and Cathy.

shannon i developed scoliosis, enough to require lumbar fusion surgery in 2023. one leg is a little shorter and suddenly it was a problem. lumbar 2 to 5. my hip problem developed on the same side, left side and are recent. i think its related but that doesn't much matter, i now need the hip fixed. getting old is a bitch.

i have the same issues walking our lot with the leaves, we get a lot of exposed tree roots and fallen branches and if you cant see what's in the leaves it can trip you up!. we have sort of a trail but i need to repeat and circle around to make it longer. its easier than walking on asphalt plus quiet and no traffic. we have the same issue on the bike trail. lots of fallen leaves can hide a lot of bigger debris. big risk for skinny tires.

Yellowstone was incredibly busy a month ago and this time the population is way down. a little snow will do that! its hunting season in MT so we are not looking at trails outside the park.

This morning I did KCM’s Cardio Quick Fix, workout one, 26 minutes, 167 calories burned, average heart rate 125, and maximum heart rate 144.

Valerie, nice job hiking in the park. That’s great that you saw so many animals along the way.

Shannon, great job with the fast paced walk around your property.

Hello to Judy and Cathy.

Yesterday I did a 45-minute Peloton walk and my PT work. Today was an active rest day. I got caught up on housekeeping and laundry.

Carolyn-Great job with P 30 Perfect Pump Upper Body and KCM’s Cardio Quick Fix, workout one. I’m sorry about the estate issues.

Valerie-Great job with the long hike. Nice that you could see so many animals.

Shannon-Great job with your walk, that sounds pretty challenging!

Hi to Cathy

Yesterday I did yoga and it felt really good. Nothing fancy. A lot of deep stretches.

Valerie - I agree with your viewpoint about getting old. I'm sorry about your back. That sounds rather miserable. I envy your trips to Yellowstone. I worked there for a summer way back when I was in college and hiked every free moment I had. It's an incredible place.

Carolyn - Good job with Cardio Quick Fix. I hope you had a good WW meeting too.

Judy - Great job with your workouts, and even more on getting caught up with housework, LOL. The walk wasn't challenging from a cardiovascular standpoint. But I did come out of it with a nice, big bruise on my calf!

Hello to Cathy.

This morning I did P 30 Perfect Pump Lower Body, 35 minutes, 100 calories burned, average heart rate 105 and maximum heart rate 126. I finished up with the Extended Stretch which was 8 minutes.

Judy, great job with the Peloton walk and PT. I did that same type of catching up with household tasks yesterday.

Shannon, nice job with the yoga. The WW meeting was good. I find that the meetings help to keep my head in the wellness game, similar to this forum.

Hello to Valerie and Cathy.

Still here. Did a kickbox work out on Tuesday and then we drove over to Asheville, and yesterday we did the North Caolina Zoo. It’s a big zoo and I got 16,000 steps. Beautiful zoo with large exhibits. Derek was super jealous. Today I did LITE Body Weight and Bands And then we went and drove the Blue Ridge Parkway. We’ll do something during the day tomorrow and then tomorrow night we’re going to the pumpkin festival. This is Transylvania County and Halloween is a huge event here.

Valerie I’d actually be quite good just seeing foot prints of several of those animals. I was at 6,000-7000 elevation today, but we were just driving. My sister”s place is at 3,500.

Shannon do you have issues with snakes.where I live there aren’t any, but here there are copperheads, and some places we go there’s potential for encounters. My phone and I probably have too close of a relationship, plus I also have a smart watch.

Hi Carolyn and Judy.

we did a harder hike today, 4 hours 15 minutes with a steep climb first down and then back up. no, my back is not happy but we stop and let me sit for a minute often and that is how i deal with it. its harder going down than coming back up. we will drive back tomorrow. we could stay anoter day but we hiked 3 days in a row and thats enough. we would just sit around so we best do the drive. i have several medical appts next week.

i "kinda sorta" follow the WW program but i dont track food much for a long time. i record exercise and WATER and eat things that fit in the plan.
