Pentagenarians & Beyond: W/B 4/19

Hi Ladies,

Happy Friday! No wo for me today. My Dh and I are going out to dinner and tomorrow I will be doing my usual spinning 2 classes and one on Sunday and I might do my lower body weights since it's only 32 minutes. That way I don't have to get up early on Monday.

I asked my DS to come over this weekend, but he has not gotten back to me. I have not seen him in a while. He is supposed to leave for his 4th deployment on May 27th for another 6 months.

Linny, You need to call in sick one of these days.

Deb, I'm glad that you like the products, try to blot some of the day cream before you put on your make up. You may need a less olier day cream for the summer. I use the Advanced All in One Max self-adjusting perfecting lotion with spf 15 during the summer.

It is supposed to be in the mid 60's this weekend. It is overcasted today and a bit cool.

Garance, Will you be having your Manhattan today?

Josie

Hi Deb, Linny, and Josie--

This morning I did Kelly C-M's Kickbox (53 min.).

So glad you are beginning to like STS, Deb. I am doing 19, 20, and 21 next week, and I am still doubling my program, so it will end up being 6 mos. I am still amazed at my sleep. I just sleep straight through from 10:30 to 6:15. Deb, I am going to check Self.com, because apparently they have a list of the best beauty products for under 20 dollars. I was watching the View this morning, and there was some eye "plumper" by Garnier that you rolled on to fill in fine lines, and some kind of foundation by Olay that was supposed to be really good.

I think DH and I will go see Adventureland this weekend. It's supposed to be like American Graffiti, a coming-of-age film, but about the 80s, and it has been getting some very good reviews. Don't know about Obsessed--the Beyonce thriller. Looks too much like Fatal Attraction.

No Manhattans for me this weekend, Josie, but maybe on Monday, when we are having friends over for dinner.

Linny, that's really too bad about the hives. Just a cool breeze? It is finally beautiful here today--going up into the 70s.

Yay for Saturday!

Good Morning!

It's already 72 degrees here, I am loving it! I was supposed to go to breakfast with a friend, but this might be postponed because she may have to take her mother to the DR.. There is so much to do around here that it will not be bad if I don't go.

No workout today, my "official" rest day.

Josie, where will you be going for dinner?

Garance, I will check that site as well. I bought a Garnier rolling eye thing, the one that was for bags and circles, it supposedly has caffine in it, which is the "new' thing out that is supposed to help your skin..it doesn't do anything. It feels really good when you put it on, cold , but I never saw any differene. They didn;t call it a "plumper" though so maybe this is a different thing?..I would be interested in a the foundation by Olay..I bought the one that is a combination of foundation and moisturizer..it's not too bad. Only comes in one or two shades I think though.

Joan, I hope you are winning big!

Linny, what are your plans for the weekend? I bet that kitchen is starting to look really good!

Have a great day!

Hey Garance,

I tried finding that info on Self.com but could not find it...if you do can you post a link to it here? Thanks! ...the search continues...

Hi Deb, Linny, Josie, and Joan--

Deb, it's the 2009 Healthy Beauty Awards over in the Reader's Picks. It includes a lot of the expensive stuff as well. I just bought the Cover Girl and Olay Simply Ageless Foundation because I needed a new foundation anyway. I will let you know if it is anything special. So the Garnier Nutritioniste Ultra-Lift Pro Deep Wrinkle Roller doesn't work?? Darn! I disagree with them on the Murad Intensive Wrinkle Reducer for the eyes. It doesn't work--period! And it's way expensive.

It's 84 degrees here today. I did my weekly housecleaning and am really enjoying the first summer day. We're going to Adventureland tonight.

Hi to Linny, Josie, and good luck, Joan!

Garance,

I did find the info on the site...this is not the same roller I got from Garnier..I got the one for under your eyes. It's about the size of a mascara wand. .I have been looking for the one that is listed here in stores, and could not find it yet. I saw the ad for it on TV. I think I will try Ebay.

Must check out the Olay foundation. Believe it or not, the thing I like best is using the Murad Essential C, then Clinique Almost Makeup. It's a tinted moisturizer with SPF15.
