Good Morning all,

I did 4DS Legs, core and stretch today. Did not go the kickbox portion. DH and I went to the play yesterday. It was called "Glorious"...about some singer in the 40's that was so awful , but no one would tell her because she was so sweet and fun loving...anyway it was a pretty good comedy.

Kelsey's vet visit was good, no issues thank God! We are actually looking at puppies.. I want another dog, but part of me feels disloyal to Clancy, since he has been gone only 2 weeks. I think I miss having him here so much that part of me thinks that getting another dog will make me feel better... I don;t know...we will have to see how it goes.

Linny:
Sounds like you are going to be pretty busy today..I have a list of things to do ( does anyone else make lists?) that I am slowing working down.

It's starting to snow here...yuk!

Deb: Glad you had fun at the play.I make lists when I have a day off during the week. To make sure I do everything that needs to be done.So glad that Kelsey is healthy.I have a friend who gets a new dog everytime one dies.She seems to have bad luck with dogs getting cancer.It fills that void in her life.I find nothing wrong with it.It just shows what a great dog Clancy was that you want another.
Well got the rental this morning,I hope my son is careful with it.Now just waiting for older son and DGD to be here any minute.I'll try to check in later.

Hi Deb and Linny--

This morning I did 4ds Kickbox with legs and abs. Tomorrow I will try my new Leslie Sansone which came with a band. It looks like it's 56 min.

I went shopping yesterday and bought 2 nighties, a U-Plunge bra at Victoria's Secret with my 10 dollar off coupon, a pair of slippers, socks for DH, and three summery blouses at Old Navy.

What kind of dog are you looking for, Deb? Another Clancy cutie? Or a new breed?

How sad about those adopted children.

I watched two DVDs this weekend--Gone Baby Gone and Becoming Jane. Both were very well done. Gone Baby Gone has a very disturbing ending though.

So I'm going to grade 5 papers this afternoon, read a little Pride and Prejudice, and treat myself to the new HBO series on John Adams. It has two of my favorite actors--Paul Giammatti and Laura Linney as Abigail. I loved the bio, and this series is getting rave reviews.
 
Good Morning and Happy St Patrick's day!

I just finished an I-Tread 30 minute walk...We e-mailed a wire fox terrier breeder yesterday. He is in the Syracuse area. We've seen him around for years at shows etc. Hopefully he will have a puppy or one being born soon! I think Kelsey needs a "little brother" to take care of. She is so mopey and down most of time..

Hope all turns out well with the rental. How do you feel after 3 days off?

Another shopping spree! Well I went on Ebay and shopped too! I got some clothing from a line that is hard to find (Ideology). Also some lip gloss...I think we have spring fever!

Hi Deb, Linny, Jen, and Josie--

This morning I did Leslie Sansone's Walk Slim Fast and Firm: 4 Really Big Miles with Band. It clocks in at just an hour, but you can pick a mile or do any combos you want. I like this one, but not as much as the 4 Fast miles. First, you cannot turn off Leslie, and the final mile with the band seems silly--cannot get much toning or serious walking done, so I will probably just walk and skip the band. But it's a good aerobic workout and the music is pretty good.

I will have to google the wire fox terrier to see what they look like. Am I wrong, or was Clancy a Yorkshire terrier? Good luck finding that special pup, Deb!

Did anyone watch John Adams last night? It was terrific!! It made me feel patriotic. The acting is brilliant. I'm really looking forward to my Sunday nights. Tonight it's Dancing With the Stars--a new round.

Deb: I think that getting a puppy is a great idea. My neighbor's dog always brightened up when she got another dog after one died.They truly love the companionship.Hope you are able to find puppy. Well my DS's car was not ready today so its another day of car rental and its St Patricks party night.EEEK! So far part for car is $200 and about $100 for rental.My DS is having a bad week between car,he and girlfriend broke up and MD told him today he should think about having tonsils removed.He has chronic tonsilitis and sleep apnea,poor kid.
Garance:I didn't get to see John Adams special,my DH really wanted to see it,but we don't have HBO.Is Priscilla Presley still on Dancing with the Stars?Good luck with the paper grading.
Had a prettty good day at work,met more patients.I just don't like not being able to work out for 4 days in a row.I'll be starting 11-7 next week.Maybe then I'll be able to put myself on aschedule of workouts.Have great night~Linny~
 
Good Morning ladies!

Today I did Pure Strength, Chest, Shoulders & Triceps. This is a good straight forward weight workout. Sometimes I wish she would go a little slowere with the reps. I like to go heavy and the rep speed doesn't let you do that. It's still very cold here, however it's supposed to go up to 50 tomorrow Yahoo!

Clancy and Kelsey are both Wire Fox Terriers.. I taped Dancing with the Stars..will watch tonight. What did you think?

Sorry to hear about all the car trouble and illness with your DS :-(
I think once you adjust to the 11-7 shift you will be able to do a workout early in the morning and get it out of the way!

Hi Deb and Linny--

This morning I did 4ds HIS with chest and back. I am alternating my 4ds with new workouts, so tomorrow I will do Cardio Dance Fusion.

Wire Fox Terriers are sooo cute. Do they shed, or are they one of those breeds that just needs grooming regularly? Are they very expensive? I inherited my sister's miniature schnauzer, and really enjoyed her, although she really wasn't a farm dog.

Linny, that's too bad about not getting John Adams, but eventually I'm sure it will come out on DVD.

I enjoyed Dancing with the Stars. A couple of the men--the Hip-Hop artist and a Latino--are already getting some pretty high marks. Steve Guttenberg is a real enthusiast, too. Tonight the ladies. Priscilla Presley looks as though she has had too much work done--or maybe it's just too much makeup. My money is on Kristi Yamaguchi.

I have been reading your post, but keep getting interrupted by work.

Today I will be running or spinning, my running partner has not confirmed for tonight.

My DH has been sick with the flu and he is such a Drama Queen that I can't wait for him to get well. I don't even want to go home, he has been like this for 1.5 weeks. I might need a Manhattan this evening.

Well finally brought the car rental back,dent free!Cost~$130.Fill gas tank before return~$30. Repair of ignition cylinder~$195. Sons gratitude and love~priceless.
Deb:Its still freezing cold around here too. They say we are getting some snow tonite and then rain tomorrow.Hope its not slippery for morning commute. I think once the 11-7 starts I'll have to do a afternoon workout because I won't get home till 8:30am and then if I workout I not be able to sleep.I can't wait till friday so I can do a workout.I miss not working out daily.
Garance:I'm sure that the John Adams is a definite dvd purchase.I'll have to check out DWTS tonite.Maybe I'll be able to wrestle the remote away from DH.I need to get a good nites rest tonite,the state surveyors showed up today and will be there till friday. Alot of high anxiety when they are in a facility.One of the surveyors I recognized from a facility I worked at and she is one tough lady.She digs and digs till she can find something to nail us on.
Josie:Good to see you're still with us.I know men can be such wussy's when it comes to being sick.GOOD LUCK! I agreed a Manhattan may help.

Good Morning!

I did the newest I-Tread this morning..( #27 Drills). I still can't do the last drill at the speed that Grace recommends. I guess that will be my goal in seeing if I am improving. I just ordered a new strap for my HRM. Needed a smaller size Yeah!

Garance:
The Wire Fox Terrier has wiry hair ( hence the name) that is curly and does not shed. However the down side to this is that they have to be groomed about every 8 weeks. The show cut is a stripped hair which keeps the color and makes it lie flat. We used to have Kelsey and Clancy stripped (rather than clipped) but once they got older, we went to clipping. I am not sure how much they are now since we have not purchased one in 11 years.. but as DH says, the cost of the dog is the least amount of the expense! I only watched about a half hour of Mondays Dancing so far.. I will need to catch up and then we can compare notes!

Sorry to hear your DH has this nasty flu...mine lasted 2 weeks, and my DH's lasted over 2 months. It's a pretty bad one..go ahead and have that manhatten...:D

Linny:
I'm sure your inspection will go fine! I know it sounds nerve racking...glad to hear your car troubles with DS are coming to an end!

Good Morning Ladies,

I did not have to drink that manhattan yesterday, the running took care of my stress. I ran along the beach in Santa Monica and it was a beautiful run. It was about 63 degrees at 5:30 PM.

Today I will be Spinning and doing my ab workout at the gym.

Linny, Good luck on the inspection.

Ded, Congratulation on the smaller strap, I feel the same when I have to tighten my water botle strap.

Garance, I have not had a chance to see John Adams, but I can see it this weekend on our cable.

Hi Deb, Linny,and Josie--

This morning I did the Cardio Dance Fusion (45 min.). I'm definitely liking this one. Starts out with a jazz dance warmup, moves into a great cha-cha routine, then the jive (rather like swing), and ends with a ballet-like routine that segues into a stretch. The jive is the hardest one, but it's really fun.

Watched American Idol first, then started switching back and forth between DWTS and Idol. I really like the young kid on Idol--David Archuleta (sp?). Kristi Yamaguchi was already getting 8's last night. She is definitely good.

Deb, you are so right about the expense of a dog. The purchase is nothing compared to the veterinary bills. Still, those Wire Fox Terriers look pretty irresistible. I don't think I have ever seen one around here.

Sorry about your husband's flu, Josie. I have been so fortunate (knock wood!), because apparently even with a flu shot, this year has been really bad, and I am around students who are real carriers of colds, strep, flu, etc., and haven't had even a sniffle. A couple of my colleagues caught IT and the coughing just seems to last forever.

Linny, I understand how you feel about exercise. I am wretched when an injury takes me down like it did in the fall. Maybe that personal trainer can give you advice on how to fit it in your schedule.

Well one more day and the state surveyors will be gone.Yippee!Everyones nerves are on edge.Next monday I start on my third shift,I hope my body can get used to it again.I noticed today in the employment ads that my last job as assistant director of nursing is posted.I quess the director must have scared off my replacement.I'll definitely call and find out why she quit.
Deb;Congrats on the smaller HRM strap.Must make you feel good. I watched a clip of DWTS on comcast news and saw the skater.Wow she's wonderful,I quess skating is alot like dancing.
Josie:That run on the beach sounds beautiful.My DH and I loved Huntington Beach when we went out there last April. Glad you didn't need that manhattan.
Garance:Who does Cardio Dance Fusion? I brought salsa cardio afew months ago but haven't tried it yet.I quess that personal trainer will be coming in on the 24th hopefully I'll be able to see her and figure out a workout schedule and a eating plan.

Good Morning!

DH got home late from a club meeting last night ( 10:30 which is late for me!) and I woke up, could not get back to sleep for a long time. Needless to say, I did not get up to work out this morning.x( . I got an e-mail from the site that I ordered the HRM strap from that they are back ordered until June! I asked them to cancel my order. I think I will just take the strap I have and overlap an inch or so and sew it so it is smaller. I should have just done that to begin with.

Josie:
The sign of a true excerciser...using excercise to help with stress and not turning to alcohol! I am proud of you!;) I wish I was where you are ! 63 degrees is perfect for outside running etc.

Garance:
I am going to go over to Collage and look at a clip of that dance workout. It sounds like fun. I messed up my taping of the Tues night Dancing show...had the wrong times. I went on YouTube and was able to just select and see the videos of each of the women. I like the skater too.

Linny:
Isn't it satisfying when you find out that you were justified in leaving? It looks like that director needs some management training!

Good Morning Ladies,

I will be running again this evening, the weather is still great!
I got on the scale this morning and I weigh 163lbs, I had gained 7 pounds and felt terrible. My trainer put me on a diet of no white bread, rice or yeast. She wants me to loose 2 pounds per week and so far I'm right on track. I want to get down to 150lbs. My running feels easier withou those extra pounds.

Next week I will be in New York and Washington D.C. visiting colleges for my daughter. She wants to go into journalism and has applied to Howard, American, Hofstra, Pratt and Pace.

Garance, Which one do you think is the best one for journalism?

Where are you, Jen? We miss you and news about your new job.

This morning I did 4ds LIS with shoulders, calves, and abs. I think it's 68 min.

Josie, in Journalism, I have only heard about American University, which is supposed to be excellent. I'm sure your daughter has done her research, though, and the other places all have good reputations. The other places I have heard about in Journalism specifically are Northwestern and U. of Missouri at Columbia, which may have the oldest school of Journalism in the country. Ahh--the college tour. I remember those days. Our older son went on two tours, and during the first our younger son decided to throw a party. Of course we had to take him along on the second tour! Yikes--the house was a sticky mess after our return from the first.

So the Janis Joplin wannabe got knocked off American Idol last night. The dippy chick from Montana is the one who should have been gone.

Deb, I just hate that when I wake up and cannot get back to sleep. So DH woke you up when he got into bed?

Linny, it sounds like you were wise to leave the old job and not try to stick it out. It just wasn't getting any better. Good luck on the personal trainer!

Done with grading papers. Now it's exams, which go a lot quicker.
 
Hi Ladies:
Well tonight is my friday nite,no work tomorrow.Glad I'm not there with the state being there.Everyone is irritable because of lack of sleep,worrying about the tags and fines the company will get.
Deb:Sorry to hear about lack of sleep.Once I get woken up I put my earplugs in and it helps me go back to sleep.Because any little noise keeps me awake.Tomorrow I get to work out Yeah!Then I have to go and have my car starter checked out.It works ok for a few days and then it stops.We brought it in 2 weeks ago and it had blown the starter fuse.I think that there is too much high tech going on with the car and it blows the fuses.We'll see tomorrow.Good idea about adjusting your HRM yourself.You never know you may have to adjust it smaller again.
Josie:You lucky girl,I wish I was out there.My parents sent me a Easter card today asking when we would be out to visit.They live near Huntington Beach,we probably won't be able to go out this year.Hopefully next spring.Good Luck with the college hunting.Is your daughter your only child?
Garance:Good Luck with grading exams.Bet you're done grading those papers.I do pity the next ADON,good luck to her. I think my new director is going to offer a manager position.I don't think I'd want it due to the fact of being on call.

Good Morning,

I just did Pure Strength Back, Biceps & Abs. These are perfect 3 day split workouts, only 43 minutes and you are done! I think I am going to switch my workouts to the Pyramids starting Sunday. I will do the total body pre-mix once, then the upper and lower on 2 other days. This will be doing each body part twice a week.. although I really like the leg work in 4DS..

High ^^^'s on the weight loss! How tall are you? What other things did the trainer tell you besides eliminating "white" food? Have fun in DC & NY!

Happy Friday Ladies,

Today I will be doing my boot camp class at the gym and tomorrow I see my trainer for one hour. We ususally do lower body because that is where I carry my weight. I will also do 30-45 minutes on the elliptical. I will probably not be able to workout during my trip, but will take wome workout clothes just in case.

Deb, I' 5'6" and my weight is usualy well distributed, I was just feeling so out of shape because of the weight gain. If you send me your e-mail address, I can send you the instructions for the diet.

Linny, I also have a son that is 27, my kinds are 10 year apart. DS is like another father to her, he takes good care of her.

Garance, have a great weekend and don't grade to many papers.
