Pentagenarians & Beyond: September 7, 2025

Today I did yoga/mobility for 18 minutes.

Valerie, the Amazon free shipping is confusing. They seem to be doing something similar to what Netflix did with password sharing. I hope that you have a good drive.

Diane Sue, great job with ICE Low Impact Step #2, LMR cardio bonus, and LMR Functional Mobility timesaver.

Judy, thanks for the clarification from Amazon’s website. That’s what I thought when I read about the changes.

Cathy, have a wonderful trip.

carolyn we are thinking utube might follow along like netflix. . we have one account and get local news in seattle area. no real news in MT. we get most of our news other ways. but the local channels are not available on cable or dish. its weird how hard it is to get straight local news.

anyway, 11 hours drive without any real problems, mostly to do driveway work and maybe a few easy mt bike rides. H should not really get on and grind that knee yet.

its weird that what amazon said is not really what they apparently meant.

costco had a sharing program that is gone too. for months now they have everyone sign in with their costco card as they enter the store. there is now an earlier hour of shopping for executive members. its an extra perk for those who pay for that level of membership, which we do. we buy enough there to very easily come out ahead even with the higher lannual fee. that early hour is really nice and uncrowded. Costco is the closest store for me to shop. we use their rx and auto shop too. its weird because i started out using costco for office supplies back in the '80's for my office and dH's office. they dont even carry office supplies anymore! nothing. the old cards had pics on them and for a while the entry person or checkout person checked picture on the card against who was holding the card to avoid non members using other peoples cards.

it sounds like i got all upset over nothing. the amazon second address business is not aimed at members who use the free shipping like im doing. I'm not sure where the fault is, if amazon worded it in a confusing way or if it was misinterpreted by an AI system. seems unavoidable these days.

not doing a lot today. acclimating and DH is on weed patrol. he gets all lathered about the Russian thistle that grows on our driveway. its an obnoxious plant. we spray Aggressively early in the season but some always germinates later and shows up in late summer. we do not want it going to seed. it is not a weed that can be dug out or pulled. no wonder it grows all over the west. an accidental import from Eurasia.

This morning I did Cardio Party for 39 minutes and 277 calories burned. My average heart rate was 135 and maximum heart rate was 169.

Valerie, I had to get a new card for Costco when they made that change. My card was so old that it wouldn’t scan. Unfortunately it was a cold day and I was bundled up in a coat with a hat on my head. The picture is terrible, but I don’t care. I have the executive membership too.

Hello to Cathy, Judy, and Diane Sue.

Yesterday I did a 30-minute Peloton Ride and 30 minutes of PT and Stretching. Today I did a 30-minute Peloton Ride, 30 minutes of Peloton Strength work with 5 lb dumbbells and 45 minutes Restorative Yoga. My shoulder seems a little better so I’m going to continue with what I have been doing for now.

Carolyn-Great job with yoga/mobility and Cardio Party.

Valerie-We have Costco and Sam's memberships. We tried going with just one, Sam's, for a couple of years but ended up renewing the Costco membership last year. They have some things that Sam's doesn’t and we like having both options.

Hi to Diane Sue and Cathy

I still have the old costco card. the bar code is getting faint but it still would work in a pinch. I like the picture on it even though i dont look like that anymore. lotta brown hair. no more.

did stacked upper body and my therapy work plus some pushups. ive been using that inflatable balance disk lately because i got tired of doing standing yoga positions for balance. its a change and funto use.

Today I did CDorner 80's cardio aerobics high or low, 45 minutes, 292calories, heart rate 134/163, 3,953 minutes. I also did some costochondritis stretches. I was really hurting yesterday. Tomorrow I have our air guy coming over to service our HVAC and put new insulation around the pipe outside. It is deteriorating.

This morning I’m did Stacked Sets Upper Body, 45 minutes, 138 calories burned, average heart rate 106, and maximum heart rate 140.

Judy, great job with the Peloton ride, Peloton strength, PT Stretching, and restorative yoga.

Valerie, great job with Stacked Sets Upper Body and therapy work. The balance disc does make balance exercises more interesting.

Diane Sue, nice job with CDorner Aerobics and costochondritis stretches.

Hello to Cathy.

Today I did a 30-minute Peloton Ride and 20 minutes of PT.

Valerie-Great job with stacked upper body, your therapy work and pushups.

Diane Sue-I’m sorry that you were in pain yesterday. Great job with CDorner 80's cardio aerobics high or low and the stretches.

Carolyn-Great job with Stacked Sets Upper Body.

Hi to Cathy

This morning I did KCM’s Cardio Quick Fix, workout one. That was 26 minutes, 174 calories burned, average heart rate 135, and maximum heart rate 156. I did my virtual WW meeting after my workout. I’ve had so many appointments lately that it’s nice to get back to my regular routine.

Judy, great job with the 30 minute Peloton ride and PT.

Hello to Valerie, Diane Sue, and Cathy.

Yesterday I did CDorner Fast Basic Step & Abs (skipped the abs), 34 minutes, 221 calories,3,184 steps. I also did 15 minutes, of costochondritis PT exercises. I managed to get up early enough to do something before the HVAC guy came and put new insulation on the outside pipe to the unit.
Today I did CDorner Cardio Hiit All Standing, 46 minutes, 279 calories, heart rate 128/175, 3,128 steps. I finished with Stretch balance work CDorner, for 24 minutes, 42 calories. Total time 70 minutes, 321 calories. My Garmin was off today. I was in the middle of wacky jacks and it had my heartrate at 110. I kept trying to loosen and tighten. It would go up and drop way done, but in the end I guess not bad. The HIIT was 11 moves done 2 times for 45 second each and then the 3rd time 30 seconds. I have been hesitant on doing weights because I do not want to experience the pain I did all weekend. It has improved.

Carolyn, nice work on yesterday's Stacked Sets Upper Body and today's KCM Cardio Quick Fix. I know how you feel about all of the appointments. I thought this month was going to be a month free of appointments, but my arthritis doctor decided he wanted to see me again after the prednisone.

Judy, good job on the 30 minute Peloton ride and PT work.

Valerie, nice job on Stacked Sets Upper Body and PT work. I can't seem to do pushups without chest pain. I like using the balance discs. One of mine keeps losing its air though. I guess I need to replace it.

we did a mt bike yesterday and today. about 5 miles yesterday and closer to 7 miles today. today was one of the few rides inside the park but still way too busy in general although not on the ride. I really cant stand the busy park population and September is busy yet. not hard rides but uphill and downhill. our own yard is where we saw the most. the pronghorn herd has increased to about 18, mostly females with only one male that we saw. they walk right up to our trail cam because they are curious. today when we got back from the ride we had gotten some groceries and pronghorns were all sprawled out in front of our house and along the side. they didnt get up until we drove right up to them, and then leisurely walked away. also saw several partridge on the driveway. they are an introduced bird people like to hunt. about quail size and very cute. they run along the ground and fly in short bursts like a grouse. a lot of bears seen around here lately. we didnt see any but the neighbors have. ripe chokecherries berries rosehips and fruit trees like apples brings them in close

visited with several neighbors to find out what's happening locally.

planned on riding again today but weather is not good with a lot of wind and intermittent rain. doing our house chores and hoping for better tomorrow.

had another dust-up with my sister. she wants to get a cat and asked me to get cat food. i ordered what she had used before from Chewey, except adult version not kitten. exact same food. this was early august. she finally opened the box and went into a tantrum because it was not "good quality food" and "grocery store crap" she left me two extremely rude and nasty messages that i always let go to voicemail. I blocked her calls. iwill reconsider in a few weeks. really nice not to hear her nasty complaining nonsense.

never can get any decent TV news here national or local.

I backed off doing full pushups and do countertop push ups or on the floor, on my knees. I can do quite a few and do them often. doing regular full push ups always made my shoulder hurt. so less intense and more often seems to turn out about the same. I did Stacked upper body again today along with therapy work. . weather was unpleasant this morning so will ride tomorrow instead. age and aches and pains requires modifications for sure. wish it wasnt so, but it is.

ha ha a month free of all medical and dental appts sounds like a dream! I wish!

Today I did part of Stacked Sets Lower body. My time was 25 minutes with 77 calories burned, average heart rate 109, and maximum heart rate 140.

Diane Sue, nice job with CDorner Aerobics, PT exercises, CDorner HiiT, and CDorner stretch. I understand what you mean about not causes your body more pain. I’m being cautious with lower body movements and some I avoid such as cross back lunges and step ups.

Hello to Judy, Valerie, and Cathy.

Today I did Killer Legs premix bonus barre work with the warm up and stretch, 28 minutes, 112 calories, heart rate 99/120. I then did LMR Lower Body Bonus balance discs adding the floor band work and stretch from lower body, 31 minutes, 95 calories, heartrate 89/100. Total time 59 minutes, 207 calories.

we did a tougher mt bike this morning 2 hrs 15 minutes. a long gradual climb. phew!. living at sea level makes doing things at 7000 feet hard right out of the gate. we will be driving back to WA tomorrow.

This morning I did JS HiiT Walk, 30 minutes, 248 calories burned, average heart rate 147, and maximum heart rate 190. I’m not sure why my heart rate was so high today.

Diane Sue, great job with Killer Legs bonus barre, and LMR Lower Body balance discs.

Valerie, it’s good that you could do a tougher ride today.
