Pentagenarians & Beyond: September 6, 2026

Just did STS2 Mat Yoga. Did the zoo this morning with Nick. Doing a zoo with Nick is so different than Derek. Far faster for one thing. In a bit we’re going to DMU so he can show me around. The ceremony was at an events center, so I haven’t seen the school yet.

Judy I’m glad you didn’t have storm damage. Power outage is more than enough to deal with.

Valerie it’s crazy to me the things people do. I’m not a fan of fireworks anyone, but using them when the fire danger is that high is insane. I’m hoping I won’t be too impacted by the holiday traffic. With luck everyone will be headed east across ND, and I’ll be going west. My sister says people in MN go to ND why? Why when you live in a state with so much recreational land would you go to ND. Glad your UTI is better.

Hi Carolyn.

This morning I did yoga/mobility.

Cathy, congratulations to your son. Great job with your workouts over the past few days. Have a safe drive home.

Valerie, good news on your mammogram. I’m glad that the UTI is under control.

Judy, I‘m sorry about the power outage.

Have a good day everyone.

Took the day off today.
I simply cannot understand why we make it so easy for dumb young kids to make really REALLY stupid decisions that ruin the lives of hundreds of people, in addition to their own. . the kid charged so far is 18 so my guess was he had a brewski or two before shooting fireworks back and forth between moving vehicles. on a highway with dry grass all around. the fireworks were illegal of course and probably bought at an Indian reservation because they cant [possibly make enough money off gambling and shopping malls. why is this so easy and seemingly unenforceable? it is so sad hundreds had to lose their homes.

sorry, im angry and have a backache and hip discomfort and will get the hip treated this week Thursday. DH has a big dental procedure on Wed so this week will be a nasty one. UTI is settled down and yes, i will take all the antibiotics. great relief after the mamm. I get way over stressed about this but my mother developed bc when she was 74.

cathy good luck on the drive home. no clue why north dakota is a hot spot for minnesota residents!

Today I did a timesaver from Cardio Party. That was 25 minutes, 146 calories burned, average heart rate 116, and maximum heart rate 139.

Valerie, your anger with people and their bad decisions is understandable since others pay the consequences for their actions.

Hello to Judy and Cathy. Have a good day everyone.

good morning carolyn. yes i get frustrated. not expecting an answer here!. it seems crazy nothing gets done to change situations that are set ups for big trouble. kids make stupid choices, comes with age, i did dumb things as a kid like we all do. why do we make it be so easy to turn stupid things into real disasters? hundreds of people lost absolutely everything..... houses pets and these were only 2 of many fires. again rhetorical question.... who decided to make these firecrackers available and why arent they responsible.

ETA i did a 15 minute spin and stacked upper body along with several stretching/ ab workouts.

Yesterday I walked 45 minutes and got caught up on housework and laundry. Today I did a 5-minute Peloton Row and a 30-minute Peloton Upper Body workout.

Cathy – Great job with STS 2 Mat Yoga. Have a safe trip home. I follow Ryan Hall’s weather channel and he is predicting that most of Michigan will have much less snow this winter. He’s usually pretty accurate so I am optimistic.

Carolyn-Great job with your yoga/mobility work and the cardio party timesaver.

Valerie-That is horrible about the fireworks. So many dumb decisions and everyone else has to pay.

Arrived at Derek’s about 5:30 yesterday. This morning I put together a workout of the warmup from LMR2 Balance Fusion, Killer Leg Barre Bonus and SB Lying Stretch and did that. We’re heading up to Minoit today To go to the zoo. Going to be cooler and windy! I swear as soon as I got into Fargo yesterday and onto 94 the winds picked up noticeably. Though not as bad as the first time I came and all the semis were leaning sideways.

Traffic was really light all the way. Only stop and go was in Fargo, but that was because of construction. Otherwise it’s a nice drive.

Valerie I get where you are coming from there are few if any stupid things someone can do that impacts so many people than start a fire.

Judy I hope that snow prediction is accurate.

Hi Carolyn.

Today I did Strong and Sweaty Total Body Giant Sets timesaver. That was 36 minutes, 151 calories burned, average heart rate 114 and maximum heart rate 144.

Valerie, great job with 15 minutes of spinning, Stacked Sets Upper Body, and Abs/stretching.

Judy, nice job with 45 minute walk, 5 minutes of Peloton rowing, and Peloton Upper Body.

Cathy, nice job with your mix of LMR2 Balance Fusion, Killer Legs Barre Bonus, and SB Lying Stretch.

Have a wonderful day everyone.

We rode the trail this morning, an hour and 15 minutes. not busy today especially compared to last saturday when it was a zoo!. already did three sets of stretches.

are your winter forecasts following the el nino pattern? Im sure forecasters all use the same information. Are reports in the midwest based on the intensity of the el nino pattern forming this year? the west is dominated by what this weather pattern does. Ive seen different variations on the seasonal map that sometimes show WA getting more snow than usual, but most are predicting way less precip with the jet stream dipping south and giving California and the SW more precip. most forecasters are saying warmer and dryer this fall/winter, exactly what we dont need. we are in a long term drought some areas worse than others. last year snowfall was very light especially at lower elevations. it was pathetic. whatever happens here will get pushed east by the jet stream .

the "firecracker" the kids were shooting between trucks was this..... A “Trooper Turret,” a cluster of eight Roman candles arranged in a circle to resemble a machine gun turret, which can fire hundreds of explosions in seconds." the device was recovered by side of the road and there were witnesses who ID'd the vehicles and reported what they saw.
ok i've gone on long enough about this but it really really made me angry! how come kids(or anyone) can buy things like this.

Cathy-Great job with the LMR2 Balance Fusion warmup, Killer Leg Barre Bonus and SB Lying Stretch. I'm glad you had a good drive to Derek's.

Carolyn-Great job with Strong and Sweaty Total Body Giant Sets timesaver.

Valerie-Great job with your trail ride. I've never heard of a trooper turret. I agree, I don't understand how anyone can purchase something like that.

This is Ryan Hall's winter forecast, he follows the El Nino patterns. His forecast for last winter was accurate.

I just did Live Sit-ups and Planks and it’s tough! We’re going to the zoo here this afternoon. It’s fun going with Derek because the animals he takes care of recognize him and come up to the fence. Not that visitors can get to the fences, but it certainly gets them closer. Was very glad that I had a sweatshirt with me yesterday as it was cool and very windy and more so in Minoit which is 2 hours north. Derek wears hats, and most of them tie on, but the one yesterday didn’t. And it had blown off a few times, but he optimistically kept putting it back on. Just as we were wrapping up for the day, it flew off again and landed in the penguin pool! So Mr. Zookeeper had to stop at the desk on the way out, and tell the person that his hat was in the pool. He opted not to wait for it to be retrieved.

thanks for that video Judy. I hope it holds true for us.

Challenging day so far. DH had his dental procedure and is sleeping it off now. harsh. it will take a while to recover from. its a front tooth that is no longer there. there will be a temp in there as soon as i get it but its in UPS system somewhere.

judy i never heard of that device before either but wow. fires all over the place and these guys think that was a fun thing to do.

we get a more nuanced look at the west with not much attention paid to where the weather goes after it heads east. they are telling us CA will get a lot of rain and snow and that WA and OR not as much. last year montana got very little snow and the temps were so mild the elk stayed in the mountains and didnt come down like they usually do in November. it doesnt take alot to change the angle of the jet stream though so we will see what happens. last year was considered a mild el nino here but the upcoming might be way worse. its nice when the weather is mild and not as wet and cold as normal but wow we pay a high price the next summer. it seems to me that when the jetstream dips south then those polar vortexes can happen.

I just realized that I didn’t check in this morning. I did KCM’s Cardio Quick Fix workout one, 26 minutes, 160 calories burned, average heart rate 125, and maximum heart rate 143. I spent the morning trying to get a title for my daughters car. I couldn’t get the registration today because I need to have the emissions test first. I forgot about that step since I’m exempt for my own car. Anyway I have the process started which makes me feel better.

Waving hello to everyone. I hope that you’re having a good day.
