Pentagenarians & Beyond: October 19, 2025

This morning I did my yoga/mobility workout for 18 minutes.

Valerie, I hope that you have a safe trip today.

Cathy, you have planned very well for your trip. I’m sure that things will go smoothly tomorrow.

Hello to Judy and Diane Sue.

trip went well yesterday though the first mountain pass was black ice and crashes everywhere. must have surprised the DOT too but it was the only spot there was a problem. we met up and picked up our friends dog in Missoula and continued on without missing a beat.. 11.5 hours of pure joy! he's a very nice dog ( puppy) we know and slept in his kennel the whole time except a brief pee stop for all parties. our friends are very very attached to their dog so I know it made them nervous even though they know us very well. they were so happy to be reunited without the drudge of a long long drive to get him.

Late start this morning so I just did Restorative Yoga as I wasn't sure how much time packing would take today.

Valerie the two things absolutely do not go together in my mind. Trip went well and black ice/crashes. LOL That's great that your time with the dog went smoothly.

Cathy it went well because we were NOT the first people driving up Homestake pass! the wrecks already happened. lots of flashing red and blue lights and MSP vehicles. everyone instantly slowed down and all went ok. the problems were downhill side of the pass with a semi jackknifed and a few lesser issues. that was the only spot in the drive with issues. just a few miles were nasty. temps were above freezing but not by much. we put on snow tires for this trip because weve had trouble in october before. have a good trip yourself. drive carefully.

Yesterday I did CDorner Old School Cardio 30 minutes, 196 calories, heart rate 135/157. I also did some chair yoga and PT moves for 33 minutes, 71 calories. Today was a rest day and family barbecue. We are going to have another great grandbaby, so now one is coming around the end of December and the other May. That will be 3!! I think I feel old.

Carolyn, nice work on the yoga mobility this morning.

Valerie, black ice and mountain driving does not sound pleasant to me. That was kind of you to pick up your friend's dog for them. I am sure they really appreciated it.

Cathy, good job on getting in restorative yoga this morning. I hope your trip goes well.

Saturday I did a 45-minute Power Zone ride, yesterday I did LMR Functional Total Body and today did another 45-minute Power Zone ride.

Carolyn-Great job with your yoga/mobility workout.

Cathy-Great job with Restorative Yoga. I hope you have good trip.

Diane Sue-Great job with CDorner Old School Cardio, chair yoga and PT moves. It will be an exciting year for you with your new great grandbabies. Congratulations!

Valerie-I’m glad you had a safe trip home.

Today I did RWH Low Impact HiiT one, 28 minutes, 192 calories burned, average heart rate 135, and maximum heart rate 172.

Valerie, I’m glad that you had a good trip home after the dicey beginning.

Cathy, nice job with Restorative yoga.

Diane Sue, great job with CDorner Old School Cardio, Chair Yoga, and PT moves. Congratulations on expecting another great grandchild.

Judy, great job with the Peloton Power Zone rides and LMR Functional Total Body.

Today I did Lift Move and Restore 2 Back, Biceps, and Shoulders using much lighter weights, 41 minutes, 126 calories. I did not have time for anything else.

Judy, nice job on the Power Zone ride yesterday and LMR Functional Total Body and 45 minute power zone ride today.

Carolyn, good job on RWH Low Impact Hiit today.

Ive been doing my new exercises 3x a day and have increased the bridges from once to twice a day. i put my feet on a big exercise ball and raise to a bridge, hold it for a few seconds. 10 times. these are tough. i was and still do a lot of other ab moves and never got sore from these but she thinks these, plus stretching, will be helpful. i dont see PT for another week. also did an up and down yard walk today after doing a run to the PO and Costco. a busy day. looked at our trail cam. the local cougar walked through our yard again on october 8 at night. he is huge. i didnt hear about anyone else seeing him.

No workout today. I had to take my car in for service this morning. In addition to routine maintenance, a warning symbol came on Saturday. I’m still waiting to find out what the problem is. This is what happens with older cars. My Lexus has been worry free for over 17 years and I keep putting off replacing it. It might be time to reconsider. I have a loaner vehicle so I didn’t have to sit around all day wasting a lot of time.

Diane Sue, great job with LMR 2 Back, Biceps, and Shoulders. What do you think about these new heavier weight workouts?

Valerie, great job with the new PT exercises.

Hello to Judy and Cathy.

I got to my sisters late afternoon. Once I got out of Columbus this morning, rush hour, and rainy, the drive was actually really good. Almost straight down, saw a lot of small towns. Yesterday the weather was really nice for the zoo, and I got over 18,000 steps in. Which balanced today when I'm sitting here at under 2,000. LOL

Today I did KCM’s Cardio Quick Fix, workout one, 26 minutes, 182 calories burned, average heart rate 135, and maximum heart rate 155.

Cathy, glad that your drive was a good one.

Hello to Valerie, Judy, and Diane Sue.

Yesterday I did a 20-minute endurance row and 20 minutes of Peloton full body strength. Today I did an hour walk on the walking pad.

Carolyn-Great job with RWH Low Impact HiiT one and KCM’s Cardio Quick Fix, workout one. Nice that your car is still doing so well. I’ve always heard good things about Lexus. They seem very reliable.

Diane Sue-Great job with Lift Move and Restore 2 Back, Biceps, and Shoulders. I want to try that one soon. I will be using much lighter weights too.

Valerie-Great job with your new PT exercises and your park walk.

Cathy- Great job getting in over 18,000 steps. I’m glad you had a good drive.

I did CDorner Leg Sculpt today, this one she did not work, she coached, and the guy was using lighter weight. She has an injury and yesterday's cardio she did super low impact and had Amanda do the high impact. The workout today was good for what I needed. This was 45 minutes, 127 calories, 83/132 heart rate. I also did her stretch for hips and low back, 32 minutes. It was a good stretch and no down dogs. It also had neck stretches in it at the end and hit everything. This was 84 calories.
My doctor told me to stop the med he gave me. I keep having lots of nausea and constantly sleepy even though I am taking multiple naps and sleeping all night. I still am feeling off today even though I have not taken it.

No workout for me today. I had to pick up my car and return the loaner. I didn’t have enough time for my workout before I needed to leave.

Valerie, nice job with your park walk.

Judy, great job with the 20 minute endurance row, 20 minutes of Peloton full body strength, and walking on the walkway pad.

Diane Sue, great job with CDorner Leg Sculpt and stretch. It’s good that your doctor discontinued that medication.

Hello to Cathy.

Today I did CDorner Cardio & Toned Arms no equipment, 45 minutes, 316 calories, heart rate 141/175, 4,359 steps. I followed it with Coffey Fit Raw Flow Stretch + 25 minutes, 63 calories. Total time was 70 minutes, 379 calories. I am pretty sure my heart rate was not that high. The workout was all low impact since Chris Dorner is healing from something going on in her back.

Carolyn, nice work on KCM Cardio Quick Fix yesterday.

Judy, nice work on Tuesdays 20minute endurance row and 20 minutes Peloton full body strength and yesterday getting in an hour walk on the walking pad. I still have not done the chest, triceps, and shoulders. I am hoping to try it out before long. Cathe uses some pretty heavy weights on the back and biceps. I was at least half the weight or more.

Valerie, nice job on the park walk.

Cathe, that was a lot of steps at the zoo.

Today I did 40 minutes of Peloton rides then went to the gym with my husband this afternoon. I did 45 minutes of legs, back & triceps using machines. I finished with 10 minutes on the recumbent bike.

Diane Sue-Great job with CDorner Leg Sculpt, stretch, CDorner Cardio & Toned Arms no equipment and Coffey Fit Raw Flow Stretch. That’s good that your doctor told you to stop the medicine. It sounds like it wasn’t a good one for you. I agree, Cathe is using pretty heavy weights for these bonus workouts. It’s impressive, but not something I can do right now, at least not for upper body. I did try one set of chest press with 20 lb dumbbells the other day, just to test my shoulder. I was able to do a few, but it was difficult. At least my shoulder is getting better so hopefully I can build some of that strength back.

Hi to Carolyn, Valerie & Cathy

Today I did JS 15 Minute Calorie Burst, 15 minutes, 118 calories burned, average heart rate 128, and maximum heart 173. We had vaccinations done this morning. After I went to the headache of getting prescriptions they are no longer required!

Diane Sue, great job with CDorner Cardio and Toned Arms and Coffeyfit Raw Flow Stretch.

Judy, great job with the Peloton rides and working out at the gym with your husband.
