Pentagenarians & Beyond: June 14, 2026

I did Jane Adams yoga today for 18 minutes. I’m going to my daughter‘s apartment to continue the work of clearing it out.

Cathy, nice job with LMR Cardio x 2 and Body Parts Back, No Repeats. Your trip to the zoo with your husband sounds interesting. Did he enjoy it?

Hello to Valerie, Judy, and Dad Sue.

This morning I did STS 2 Body Parts Chest and Triceps No Repeats.

Carolyn it's hard to tell how much he. enjoyed it since he was in pain.

Valerie during the years the boys played baseball I would get a light tan, but I never tanned beyond that. As a teen I sunbathed some, but I would gets so bored. DH burns easily, and so does Nick. He uses sunscreen any time he's going out.His hair naturally has reddish highlights, though he keeps it blond now. Derek while born a blond, now has brown hair and he's the only one of us that tans well.

Rain rain go away. Tomorrow is going to be the only decent day this week.

Friday was an active rest day. Yesterday I did a 45-minute Peloton Outdoor Walk and got caught up on laundry and housework. Today I did Live #350, Hip Hip Hooray It’s PHA! and #428 Core Strength Express.

Valerie-Great job with your walk/hike and trail ride. I have to admit that I tanned quite a lot when I was younger. I did stop trying to get tan when I was in my late 40's and I use sunscreen religiously now.

Carolyn-Great job with the timesaver from Stacked Sets Lower Body and Jane Adams Gentle Yoga.

Cathy-Great job with STS2 Body Parts Legs No Repeats and LMR Cardio x 2, STS2 Body Parts Back and Biceps No Repeats and STS 2 Body Parts Chest and Triceps No Repeats. The weather forecast this week is not very good, I agree. It doesn’t look like this will be a great week to be outdoors.

Hi to Diane Sue

We rode the trail again this morning. had planned on driving to a different ride but it was warm early and we decided closer was better. 15 miles an hour 15 minutes.

my mother was a redhead and my father had black hair and fair skin i tanned better than anyone else but like you cathy, i could not stand lying out in the sun cooking. UGH Awful!. I always tried to gradually get exposure so that i had enough tan to avoid burn. of course now we know that's all nonsense but there was no real sunscreen until i was well into adulthood anyway. we all did the baby oil and iodine method. DH and i spent a lot of time in the mountains and on snow. i had two very small skin cancers, both on one leg so that was when i stopped sun exposure. i was about 70 so i guess I did reasonably well. i wore hats or visors, nylon shirts and tried to minimize mid day in the sun. there is nothing like being in the mountains on snow to absolutely fry. the direct sun and then reflected sun will burn you in places you didn't know you even had! the older sunscreens would sweat off too. i made it thru reasonably well. mostly i wear clothes to cover

Today I did Live Crush it Low Impact, Restorative Yoga and Balance workouts.

Valerie I've never heard of iodine in relation to sunbathing. Definitely did the baby oil, and when I was in High school it was popular to do Sun In on your hair. We had sunscreen, but not the higher SPF's we have today, and lots of coconut oils in things.

Judy I like both those workouts.
