Pentagenarians & Beyond: January 4, 2026

Wednesday I did a 30-minute Peloton ride. Yesterday I did 30 minutes of Peloton strength and my PT work. Today I walked 3 miles with my husband and did my PT work.

Valerie-I agree about the dentists too. We are happy with the ones we go to, but the prices are outrageous and one of them is always trying to upsell us on something. Great job with your therapy work, spin and park hike. Thanks for the tip on the Ken Burns series. We always support PBS and NPR.

Carolyn-Great job with KCM’s Cardio Quick Fix, workout one and P 30 Perfect Pump Lower Body. I hope the weather didn’t get too bad for you.

Hi to Cathy & Diane Sue

judy we are happy with the care we get. we were not happy with our last dentist. he suddenly sold his practice to another dentist and disappeared. we are very happy with the lady who bought his practice. . DH has always needed expensive complicated dentistry. combo of genetics and crummy care as a kid. we have spent a lot on his teeth. oral surgery and implants are serious investments!
DH had his eye appt this morning and is getting cataracts done in march. we'd hoped for sooner. like most people, once the decision is made to go ahead, you want it done yesterday.

judy the Revolution series is incredibly detailed. i had no idea of all the inner workings between the different groups involved. all the Indian (many) tribes, enslaved black people, freed people, british loyalists , patriots, French, British, Germans, Irish. the 13 colonies that didnt have the same interests or loyalties. allegiances that switched and flipped back and forth. it is WAY more complex than i ever imagined. it was a revolutionary war against the British but also a civil war between competing factions here plus all the international involvement. most of uuus are given an extremely simplified, dumbed- down version. I think there is 12 hours all together, but I can handle about half an hour at a time.

Thursday I did an AOLIH mix before I shopped, yesterday I did LMR Core Fusion, and today I did LMR Upper Body.

Judy that's such a crazy amount for the cats. I know my sister has pet insurance on her dog, and likes it, but not doing that for four cats, which rarely go to the vets. None of them are cats that we deliberately got. Not that we don't love them, weird hate each other bunch that they are, but they were not in our budget and with shelters continually having waiting lists to take animals in, we do rabies, and they get fixed, but beyond that just problems. I had finally set enough money in to take Tux in for what he needs and Flopsy wiped it out and back to scratch. Our vets are now under the VCA umbrella. The staff and care are wonderful, but the cost!!

Today I did Rev’d Up Rumble, 41 minutes, 280 calories burned, average heart rate 133, and maximum heart rate 162. We have rain, but the worst of the storms skipped us.

Judy, great job with Peloton ride, Peloton strength, PT, and walking with your husband.

Cathy, great job with AOLIH, LMR Core Fusion, and LMR Upper Body.

Hello to Valerie and Diane Sue.

We walked the park again this morning, 1 hr 15 minutes.

Flea and tick meds used to be inexpensive. they didnt work very well. the newer products work great but are costly for sure. Our dogused to bring fleas in despite flear collars and i found out how allerigc I am to flea bites. because our guy is indoor/outdoor he needs all vaccinations. we spent a lot on toys to begin with but as soon as he discovered "outside" he lost interest. he behaves well and stays close to home and has not had any fights. the other cats around here seem to have regular patterns of where they go. we see them on our trail cam. occasionally there were some loud territory disputes. none came to fights. seems settled down now. Puss comes in when called so far doesn't wander off.
