Pentagenarians & Beyond: December 14, 2025.

Today I did Jane Adams Gentle Yoga for 18 minutes.

Valerie, I don’t listen to much music anymore in terms of streaming or radio station. When I spent a lot of time in my car I had favorite stations. Usually those with music from 90s, 2k, and today. I have access to both Apple Music and Amazon Music.

Hello to Judy, Diane Sue, and Cathy.

I did a 10 min spin warm up then 2 parts of stacked upper body, twice. trying to get back to doing the whole thing of 2 repeats of all 3 segments. I'll do two of the last two later today. unless we lose power with a windstorm today. also did therapy x2 yesterday. and a little garden work. more rain today.
I'm going to look at Sirius again and see if there are different categories i can look at for an update. i likely have apple music but never even looked at it. i know there is not much on the radio anymore. we are outside the city and with the mountains, reception takes a dive quickly.

Today I did JS HiiT Walk, 30 minutes, 179 calories burned, 136 average heart rate, and 164 maximum heart rate.

Valerie, great job with spinning, part of stacked sets upper body and therapy exercises. I’m sure that you can find something that you like on Sirius. Both Apple and Amazon are subscription services. I don’t use them enough to subscribe.

Hello to Judy, Cathy, and Diane Sue.

Saturday I did a 30-minute Peloton ride and 15 minutes of stretching. Yesterday I did 30 minutes of Peloton Upper Body and Core work. Today I did a 30 minute Peloton ride and 30 minutes of Yin Yoga.

Carolyn-Great job with Jane Adams Gentle Yoga and JS HiiT Walk.

Valerie-Great job with spinning, stacked sets upper body and therapy work.

Hi to Cathy and Diane Sue

Ill give a try to some different sirius channels. the main thing is on montana drives and DH turns the radio on and off so i will see if he would like to try something different.

going to do a short workout before dinner. already did 2 sessions of therapy.

did a 10 min spin and 10 min on elliptical as warmup and then two segments of stacked upper body, the two i skipped yesterday. all went fine. that plus the therapy work made enough of a workout.

I have been busy. I took 3 days off this week. Tuesday I hosted my ladies group Christmas, Friday my husband and I went to the eye doctor and ran errands early. Saturday I did CDorner Fast Basic Step and Abs, skipping the crunches and oblique crunches, 47 minutes, 267 calories, heart rate 122/152, 3,825 steps. I also did Jessica Valant Scoliosis work, 50 minutes, 89 calories. Sunday morning was family Christmas at my daughter's house and no workout. I spent a lot of time making pie and deviled eggs.
Today I did CDorner All Standing Upper and Lower body workout (biceps, triceps, and shoulders) 39 minutes, 154 calories, heart rate 101/135. Lift Move and Restore low impact cardio bonus, 14 minutes, 87 calories, and Jessica Valant Shoulder Mobility and Gentle Full Body Stretch, 25 minutes, 53 calories. Total time 78 minutes, 294 calories. My shoulder has been hurting for several days. I lightened up compared to what Chris was using.

Today I did 30 minutes of Peloton Strength work and a 20 minute stretch.

Valerie-Great job with the spin, elliptical, stacked sets upper body and therapy work. I hope you find some Sirius channels that you like.

Diane Sue-Great job with CDorner Fast Basic Step and Abs, Jessica Valant Scoliosis work, CDorner All Standing Upper and Lower body workout, Lift Move and Restore low impact cardio bonus and Jessica Valant Shoulder Mobility and Gentle Full Body Stretch. I hope your shoulder feels better soon.

Hi to Carolyn & Cathy

Two sets of therapy work today, then 15 minutes spinning and half of Rev'd up rumble. not sure if I can do that kind of workout anymore but the first half isn't bad. will try to ease back into it. and see how it goes.

Yes, I'm out here. My trip got delayed for 2 days because of a snowstorm in IN, not the place I had expected would be a problem. LOL Got to Nick's yesterday and we're doing the zoo today. A zoo with Nick is more of a workout than with Derek, because there is far less standing around, but with Derek I'd do the whole thing at least twice if not three times and we're only going through once. I had planned to workout while I'm here, but discovered this morning, but discovered my password had stopped working. A recurring theme in the last 6 months, but even though it said it accepted the new password, it wouldn't work, so I sent a message to support and just did some stretching.

I listened to mostly audio books in the car this trip, and when I did the big trip to visit both of them in May, but audiobooks wouldn't work so well for two people unless they can agree. I also have a Spotify account, though I may switch to the free version, since while I use it a lot when I'm driving more locally, and some at home, I don't really use a lot of the features that come with the pay version, I just don't have to listen to the adds. My music tastes are pretty varied a lot of 70-80's stuff, some country and some current. For a lot of it it's more artist specific.

I didn’t work out yesterday. We spent the entire day in various medical appointments, only one of which was planned. It was a very exhausting day. This morning I did KCM’s Cardio Quick Fix workout one. That was 26 minutes, 162 calories burned, average heart rate 132, and maximum heart rate 162.

Diane Sue, great job with CDorner All Standing Upper and Lower Body, LMR cardio bonus, and Jessica Valant mobility and stretching.

Judy, great job with Peloton Strength and Stretch.

Valerie, great job with therapy work, spinning, and part of Rev’d Up Rumble.

Cathy, I’m glad that you made it to Nick’s despite the bad weather.

Have a wonderful day everyone.

Today for a change I did Jessica Smith’s Walk On 15 Minute Calorie Burn Walk, Power Posture Walk and Gentle Yoga for Back Pain Relief.

Valerie-Nice job with the therapy work, spinning and half of Rev’d Up Rumble.

Cathy-I’m glad you made it to Nick’s. Indiana has had some bad weather. I’m sorry about your password problem.

Carolyn-I’m sorry about your day yesterday. Great job with KCM’s Cardio Quick Fix workout one.

Hi to Diane Sue

Today I did CDorner Dance Hiit 42 minutes, 244 calories, heart rate 122/164, 3,769 steps followed by Jessica Valant 5 minute upper back and 5 minute lower back stretch + 5 minutes of CDorner mobility, 15 minutes, 39 calories. I would have done some more weight work, but I had a lot of back and shoulder pain last night along with my knee. Even my ribs were hurting again last night. All I did yesterday morning was cardio and stretching. I will wait on it guess. I won't be working out Friday as I have an appointment with my Rheumatologist. I guess I am going to lose my primary doctor that I have had for many years. They are going to a concierge format. I am just not willing to pay to subscribe and pay a monthly amount when I am already paying for insurance. I have been on the fence, but the more I thought about what I would be paying over a year when I rarely go in more than once a year it seems ridiculous.

Valerie, nice work on the two sets of therapy work, 15 minutes of spinning, and half of Rev's Up and Rumble. I am not as aggressive with the kickboxing workouts as I used to be.

Cathy, that is too bad your password quit working. The zoo walk is probably still a good amount of exercise. I like 70's and 80's music although it is funny, because my husband purchased me a record player that has cd, and cassette, along with blue tooth and I find I really do not like a lot of the music on those records all that much. I think I enjoyed John Denver and Neil Diamond the most. The Creedence records were not my favorite. I do not know where half of them went to. The 45's are fun, but it is too much work playing one song at a time so I have to be by the record player. I am mostly using Amazon and Bluetooth.

Carolyn, nice work on KCM Cardio Quick Fix #1. I try to keep my appointments at 1 a day and mostly no more than 2 in a month. I hate sitting in waiting rooms.

Judy, good choices on Jessica Smith’s Walk On 15 Minute Calorie Burn Walk, Power Posture Walk and Gentle Yoga for Back Pain Relief.

I got a temporary password and used that to do Travel Fit this morning, assisted by Beeps, who in the last section managed to get on the keyboard and somehow while not affecting the video, turned off the audio. But it was planks and then stretching, I could not figure out how to get the video back in the moment. I'll try to redo the password in a bit. I'm now hot and need a shower.

Diane Sue, I find that one of the things I like best about streaming is that there are a lot of albums that I like but there are always a few songs I'm not crazy about and it's easy to skip them. Very few albums over the years where I like all the songs, and back when it was all records, it was too much of a pain to skip songs. I've found it fascinating how much physical albums have made a comeback.

Carolyn sorry to hear about your day. I hope things are okay.

Hi Judy and Valerie.

Yesterday was a power out day. power went out tuesday night around 3 am due to a wind and rain storm. we are having a miserable stretch of weather right now. a lot of peoples' power went out!. took much of Wed to get back on for a large area. . we had not officially used our generator before. its fairly new but didn't work the first time we tried it so we got warranty service last year then never had a long enough outage to try it again yesterday we did its a lot of work moving fridges and hooking up extension cords. whole house generator is more than we need . this runs fridge freezer and charges small things like phones. cable and internet went out too. not a pleasant day. and my sister called 10 times, yes, 10 times. i am not speaking with her anymore. i cant fix broken, and some of it is her fault and some is the result of the current administration. her snap benefits have been reduced. she needs a lot of meds for mainly her seizure disorder, and other health issues, and its expensive. it might be cut off. or it is threatened which is almost as bad. she relies on support people to manage her Medicaid benefits because she is completely computer illiterate. she is now blaming me as the reason why she cant use a computer. yeah, right..... it made for a stressful day but power is back up, generator works, and now internet is back functioning. i

i did several sets of therapy yesterday and walked the yard for 30 min later in the day.

my car still has a CD player, its a 2018 model. i have a few CDs i still like but most of the time im not driving long enough to bother. easy to skip a track you dont like. unfortunately 20 songs from the same group is usually tedious because there are a few good ones and the rest filler.

Today I did P 30 Perfect Pump Upper Level, 36 minutes, 90 calories burned, average heart rate 108, and maximum heart rate 134. I didn’t work out yesterday. It was another day of medical appointments.

Judy, great job with JS Walks and Gentle Yoga.

Diane Sue, nice job with CDorner Dance HiiT, Jessica Valant stretch, and CDorner Mobility. That’s too bad that your Primary Care doctor is going to a concierge format. That concept is very interesting to me.

Cathy, nice job with Travel Fit. That’s always a good one to do when traveling.

Valerie, I’m sorry that your power went out. Nice job with therapy and walking the yard.

Have a great day everyone.

I had a dental appt yesterday to evaluate what might have been another cracked tooth, right below the one that cracked last year. it turned out ok. a minor small crack that i could eventually crown if needed but not a big deal, nothing urgent. costs a lot just to find that out. i am always stunned at how expensive dental care is. we have insurance but its pretty useless it covers so little. it just barely barely is worth having.

there are thousands of people still out of power. that usually means no Tv or landline phone service either and often no heat and sometimes no water. varies a lot with who and how your service gets to you. we wanted to walk the park today but its in the "power out zone" and probably has a lot of trees down and maybe power lines with them. Generators are a huge help of course but they are sometimes a challenge to run, and you need ethanol free gas which isnt easy to find.

diane sue that is too bad you doc is basically leaving. its hard to find new people sometimes because practices get "full" and dont take new people. when a popular person retires or leaves, all his/her patients are looking for a new doc. even if a practice is full, you can write a personal note and ask to get care from them and you will often get accepted especially if you have decent insurance. i would start looking for a replacement doc. dont wait until you need to see someone. this is so crazy.... we should have Medicare for all.

and everyone has a different MyChart! each medical group is separate here. some MyCharts can link notes but most are independent, needing complicated passwords and two factor ID to sign in. Grrrrrr!! speaking of passwords they all require long complicated passwords with upper and lower case, numbers and symbols.

yesterday did several sessions of therapy then a 15 min spin , then assorted upper body exercises for about 30 min but no particular workout.

Today is another rest day for me. My youngest daughter arrived yesterday. The rest of the family will be here Monday. We’re planning a smaller Christmas, but thats fine with me.

Hello to everyone and have a great day.

our favorite park was partly open today so we walked it. our normal trails were not open due to power lines being down somewhere in there, so we worked out another similar route. an hour and 15 minutes. incredible amount of small debris and quite a few much bigger limbs and trees.. the park sticks out into the water a ways, has a boat launch and gets full force of the wind. theres a beach area but it was under water today. it was too windy today to see much of anything on the water, which was wind driven and choppy. the whole area around the park has been out of power until later yesterday but the park itself looked like it got the worst of it. camping area and bathrooms were closed so it was quiet.

today is our anniversary. 47 years. wow!
