As you all know, my son is being Christened one week from Sunday. My SIL and I are working on getting the party favors put together right now...a pic of Joey in his outfit that we are going to put in a magnetic (refridgerator) frame...

So I was telling my mom about this and she told me that I didn't have to do this...she said she never recalls receiving a favor at a Christening party. Have any of you???

I didn't even think about it...I just figured, there is going to be a "party" afterwards so there should be party favors! lol

We are doing it regardless cause it's not like it's gonna hurt but I'm just curious if this is going to be the first Christening in history where the guests received favors!? LOL :p

I have never NOT gotten a favor and I did favors for my three sons christening.

Your favors sound perfect - great choice!

I've never gotten a favor and didn't give favors. I never heard of doing that before and now I'm worried that I should have given them!

I'm sure that everyone will love the favors you chose - very nice idea.

Who knows...my mom said she never received a favor so I guess some give them and some don't...I wouldn't worry about it.

That is a cute idea! I never did that for mine. Never even heard of doing that. OOH! You are starting a new trend!! Wendy, the trendsetter! We have to call Glamour! LOL:D
 
When DH and I got married our favors for the wedding were pics too. We hired a photographer who specialized in this. He came and took pics of all of our guests before they went into the cocktail hour. By the end of the night everyone had a professional photograph of themselves all dressed up. They all LOVED it! That's where my idea for the Christening favor stems from...:)
 
Sorry this has nothing to do with Pary Favors but wanting to say your son Joey is so adorable and cute:).

I know my sisters didn't do favors for any of my nieces and nephews Christenings, and I would not call favors a "must-have". But I think your idea of the picture on the magnet is really sweet and totally appropriate.

I wouldn't listen to my mother if she didn't think it was a good idea :) Hmm wait--- this is ME talking now-- I had my kids like 20 years ago--- I would think she was right and not do anything. x( But right now-- Id do the opposite of what she suggested

I think its a wonderful gift. You know the people you are inviting are special to you-- what better gift than a picture of the *star*
 
I think people will love it!! Honestly, I really don't pay much attention to what other people do. I like to be different and blaze my own trails. I think people will come away from your party with a beautiful picture and a lovely memory.
