I"m having a pain deep down in the very middle of my chest and I really feel it when I breathe all the way in or out. It feels like a muscle I suppose......I don't want to take a rest day, but it didn't go away when I woke up this morning.... I started feeling it about 5 minutes into yoga last night.......:( Anyone ever have this and know what it is??

I would go to the doctor to make sure it's only a pulled muscle. It probably is, but better to make sure. And I would absolutely take a rest day. Exercise is no good for you if you're in pain all the time!

Do a search on Costocondritis. I was diagnosed with this many years ago now. I was so scared because at times it felt like I was having a heart attack. It took months to get rid of. I was scared the whole time even though I was diagnosed with this and had many tests to rule out other heart conditions. I was probably 30 ish when I got this. Still have no idea how other than lifting a box - but didn't feel it hurt at the time. I would get it checked out if you are worried about it.

Good luck,

I had exactly the same experience the first time I ever did Body max 2 all the way through  I was scared, and it was a really odd sensation.. but it turned out just to be a pulled muscle. Also, it went in three or four days. If it's still there after that though, I'd go to the doctors, but for now, just try not to breathe to steeply!

I didn't stop exercise though...so I'm not sure whether that was the right decision or not
Hopw you're feeling better soon!

Not saying that this would apply to you, but when I was bulimic, I would have really bad chest pain that was related to my esophagus being burned by the stomach acid. In any case, chest pain should almost always be checked out.

Well as it turns out it's someting along those lines...the doctor said the cartilage surrounding the sternum is inflamed. He said lay off the weights for a few days and take ibuprofen and it should go away..... I read about Costochondritis and I saw that it can be caused from strain/overuse...so what do you do for an exercise regime? Do you lift heavy anymore?? I didnt' really go into detail about what I really do and how hard I push it sometimes..I didnt want to because I"m afraid of what he would say! I'm thinking of going a bit lighter for awhile...*sigh*
