Non-workout bra recommendation

So, I spent a very crappy bra-shopping session at Kohls this last weekend. You know, you're a 38-D in this size and a 36-C or 40C or or or.... I HATE bra shopping. WHERE can I go for a less stressful bra-shopping experience?? I NEED to be fitted properly and I swear, I will buy a dozen bras if I find the right one.

The weird thing is that my chest-bone measures at about 35-36 inches but NO bra I have found feels comfortable at at 36- it's really uncomfortable, top that with the actual "girls" being somewhere between a C&D cup ... bummer!! and it just makes it a nightmarish endeavor to find the right one that lifts (not too much), and makes them look and feel natural. GOTTA have underwire also.

Help!

Thanks!
Pam

Oh! I know, the mirrors and crappy unflattering lighting! This one looks really comfortable. I don't think our Kohls offers this one.... I'm pretty sure I tried on EVERY bra they had!

Thank you!
Pam

I'm right ther with ya. I'm a 42 ddd or up, I have a hard time finding bras as well. I really don't like underwires but I guess those are the only ones that lift..sigh

Bra recommendation

I highly recommend going for a professional bra fitting. If there's a Nordstrom's near you, they do this a few times per year and it's free. For years I wore the "wrong" band and cup size. I thought I was a 36C but the fitter recommended a 34D. I ended up buying three bras and love them all.

I honestly love Victoria's Secret bras. They do fittings every day. I did find that the recommendation after the fitting didn't work for me but it at least gave me a starting point. The fitter told me that I was a 32C but when I tried that size on the girls came out the sides  (not sure that is supposed to happen and definitely doesn't look sexy!) ;) So I just told her the problem and she came back with a 32D. I actually like the Body by Victoria demi. I don't like pushup bras since they just seem to give me uniboob. The demi pushes my girls up and keeps them separate.

The bras at VS are pretty expensive (sometimes $50 or more). I only bought 1 and just kept wearing it everyday with washing every couple days (I work in an office and don't sweat so I figured that was ok). Then when they had their Semi-Annual Sale in June, I ordered 5 more for 1/2 price online!

Good luck! Bra shopping sucks! I spent an entire day (6+ hours) helping my sister find a bra back in May. We tried every bra at Kohl's and Bergner's with no luck before going to Victoria's Secret and finding her perfect bra in less than an hour!

i hate underwire. that alone makes the selection dwindle. then looking for C or D. i do have few VS bras, not the kind i can wear everyday, one is one of those strapless bras for dresses. my fav. bra now is jockey, wireless, looks kinda like a sports bra w/reg bra straps.its comfortable. dont know name of it.

I just went bra shopping a couple weeks ago at Macy's and am THRILLED with the ones I got. I got a Tommy Hilfigur, a Wacoal and a Calvin Klein. I also got a Victoria's Secrets, but I'm never really that happy with the quality of those. They don't last as long as they should for the price. They're all underwire (I'm a C) and very comfortable.

If you go to VS, don't get the Biofit. I've had 2 of them and they lose their strap support really quickly.

I also recommend you go to a place that offers bra fittings for all body sizes/types. I have to go to a specialty bra store because I have a small frame (I wear a 30DD). Being that small in the torso prevents me from shopping at a VS or department store.

Okay, I definitely need to schedule a fitting. I thinnk both VS & Nordstroms are up in Denver. I guess I'll just make a day of it and try to have fun bra shopping!

Thank you all for your advice! The girls, my back and shoulders thank you also! :p

I was fitted at VIctoria's Secret once. They were so off. Anyhow, I am only a 36 A/B.
I only by bras from Gap Body. They look like a sports bra. They are so comfortable, however, I don't need a lot of support. Melissa
