We have now added a facebook "like" button that will automatically appear on every original post in our forums. If you are logged into facebook all you need to do is click on the "Like" button and then write a brief comment and finally click the post to facebook button. A link to the post you "Liked" and your comment will automatically appear on your facebook page. If you're not logged into facebook when you click the "Like" button you will be prompted to do so in the pop up window that appears.

Next up for our our forums will be our first of many iPhone apps. Our first app will let you use your iPhone to post, reply and even post pictures to our forums. We think this will be great for people attending our road trips. Texas you will be the first road trip to try our new app out! We're also working on the same app for Android users.

I've waited so long for this. Thank you!

Okay, I am obviously missing something here.

Why would you want something you've posted on a fitness message board to appear on your facebook page? Do I have that right?

I just don't get it.

Also, will replies to your post also appear? It would seem that a random post from a fitness message board popping up on your facebook page would make no sense out of context.

Somebody enlighten me.

Well, for those of us who are Cathe fans on FB and here in the forum, it saves duplication. Post in one spot - here - and it'll show up on our FB page! I have Ping.fm for posting to all my social pages (yes, I know, I'm an addict!) at once!

I hope this helps clear that up! For me, it's just called being obssessed, addicted, and not having anything better to do with my time! LOL!

I don't get it either.
So if you 'like' a post, will a link to the post appear on your FB page, or the post itself?
(I'm SO not into Facebook, Twitter, MySpace or any of that!)

Kathryn I agree. I am also "so not into' any of it either. Not a clue as to why I should be or would want to be.

That will be fun if the Android app is ready for Texas, too.

I think I will click the Like button to see what happens.
If I don't like it, I'll just remove it from FB

When you click the Like button, it seems to put the link on the last post of the time you click the button

Like buttons are a way to share things with your FB friends. If you don't want to share, you don't have to. For people heavily into FB, it's way easier to Like something than to post links all the time. Lots of sites use the Like feature. Liking shares a link to a site or in this case, a thread. If your friends don't want to read it, no need to click it. It's more interesting than the constant So and So found a stash of guns!

facebook like button

The idea behind the facebook like button is to let your friends know about things you find interesting or "Like". Perhaps you ate at a restaurant that you really liked and you want to tell your friends about it...or perhaps you bought some new shoes or clothes that you're excited about. The "like" button is just a way of sharing your excitement and interest.

In the case of our forums you might want to let your friends know about posts announcing new Cathe products or a post about something you found funny or educational. People trust recommendations from friends much more than they do advertisements from companies. The "facebook like button" allows you to easily network with your friends and to share common interests and recommendations.
