New Englanders??

Hi my husband and I want to rent and RV and hop in with our two dogs and drive to New England this fall. We dont want to be stuck in one place but we dont want to drive all over either. We like to hike and camp and just relax. Any "must see" places or maybe some not so well known but great camp grounds that are pretty and also dog friendly??

One of my co-workers is a devoted dog owner (2 German Shepards) and an RVer (is that a word?!). I'll ask her to for some suggestions and follow up with you tomorrow.

We go to Glimerglass Lake in Cooperstown, NY (very well known for the Baseball Hall of Fame). The campground and beach area (even the bathrooms) are very well kept. It's a nice area. We camp there and sometimes eat "in town". There are lots of places to eat, from taverns to upscale resturants. We bring our Wheaton Terrior, and he loves it. They do ask for the dogs to be tied up while on the campgrounds though. There is a pavillion to go to in case it rains.

About an hour or so from Cooperstown is Lake George. Lake George has something for everyone and is beautiful!! Have fun! Carolyn
