Need Computer Advice/Wedding Invitations

I am ordering some plain card stock and envelopes from www.mygatsby.com, and I hope to print and assemble my wedding invitations myself.

Here is my question.... Is there a computer program that I need to do this? Or a website with templates? Or can I just create a word document and set the paper size as 5" by 7" or whatever?

Why did I decide that I wanted to do these invitations myself in the first place.....???}(

Thanks in advance for any and all help!

You can use Word - it should work just fine. You can set a custom paper size to match the size of your invites. Another good option is Photoshop or Photoshop Elements - it would allow greater control over the positioning of your text than Word would. But Word would work just fine. :)

I made my own wedding invites and used a program similar to Photoshop. Worked great!

You can go to Avery.com and get a design program for free.

Unfortunately the program uses Avery template numbers so you'd have to be able to translate the product you've bought to an Avery stock # to get the design program to work.

I use it for business cards, it's pretty slick.
