My Road Trip Observations

These are random thoughts and not in any particular order. I am still incredibly tired (I believe I actually spent more time in airports and on planes than I did in New Jersey):

- The Ramada Plaza really needs to update their decor
- Jes has the most adorable accent, especially when she says "jug handles"
- New Jersey is weird - you can't pump your own gas or make left turns
- Cathe and crew are absolutely gorgeous and tiny and perfect and SO FREAKIN' NICE
- My roommates were .... there actually are no words to describe how I feel about them. They know how I feel.:)
- Emily looks cute with her sleeping mask on
- Angie thinks Wisconsin is cool
- Women who work out using Cathe videos represent a very beautiful percentage of the population - honestly, I've never seen such an attractive group of people
- Cathe does not sweat - ever
- Lorraine is breathtaking
- Mark should be in the next kickbox workout - that boy has got some serious moves (and he's single)
- It's a very bizarre feeling to have your reputation precede you - walking into a room full of strangers and hearing your name being whispered is kind of unsettling:p
- Becky needs to move to Canada so we can open a gym and eat Indian food
- I look really aggressive when I kickbox
- We all really need to do this again SOON
- Cookies for breakfast gets old really quick
- Dani couldn't be cuter if she tried
- I have immense respect for Laura after she helped me leg press 270 lbs on one of the machines in the gym - do NOT mess with that woman!

I have pics but no way of downloading them right now. Mostly they are similar to Angie's and Emily's.

I had the most incredible time this weekend. Thank you to Cathe and Chris and all the crew and the coordinators for making this happen. I met so many fantastic people and made lifelong friends and pushed myself and laughed so hard I couldn't speak. So many people need mentioning but I don't want to miss anyone! So I'll just say you ALL ROCK:D

Hi Shelley! :)

Heehee...oh my yes, that Ramada Plaza sure does need to update their decor! :) And I HEAR ya on spending more time in airports/planes! I was at the airport yesterday from 1:30 until close to 9:00 p.m., when my plane finally took off after a 4-hour delay! Woo-hoo!!

Love your observations/comments and feel the same way you do...just an incredible experience...I'm ready for the next one! :) It was great meeting you and everybody else...just a great group of women!! :)

I think it was Coordinator Debbie who mentioned that the Ramada is being bulldozed down in September and a brand new one being built! Hopefully they won't choose mustard colored sinks this time around...

I cannot believe how tiny Lorraine is. All the girls are totally adorable!

Pleeeeeeeeeeease Linda - it's "Harvest Gold":p

And what the heck was with the glass-walled elevator overlooking the gas station? How scenic!

MAJOR DITTO's!!!! & I lost 2 pounds without even having to SITG!
I have never been in such a wonderfully diverse and COOL (literally & figuratively) group of women. Wish I had been more outgoing & gotten to know more of them:( - next time!
Shelley, keep stepin' outside that comfort zone - that's where the fulfillment is (from one who needs to take her own advice):D

Well, it's great to know that now ya'll can read my numerous posts and imagine the accent!! :p And i can still hear all of your accents too!

It's true that MOST of us had horribly frustrating travling experiences and that SUCKED! But it was SO worth it. I had the best time and i very nuch enjoyed meeting all of you! I will remember that trip forever:7 i don't think i have ever laughed so much in my ENTIRE life. (that could be attributed to sleep depravation or the fact that it is a halarious group!

To the Rooster in the Henhouse, Chris, i think it was very cool of you you to join us and great to meet you! Please keep in touch!

Ditto to all of Shelley's observations!!!!

love you all

jes :D

Okay,

No more Maximus. She's Laura from now on! It's hard enough remembering one name....now two names for one person. HEAVENS :)

I know LOL--I've learned a valuable lesson, I will never again sign on to a message board without my first name. :p

I added a signature line so hopefully this will eliminate future confusion.

I have some rambling Home Tripper thoughts myself. Who pumps your gas and why can't you turn left? I am very bad at lefts when it's trafficky. I used to get major adreneline surges when driving but after years of having to drive kids everywhere, I don't get quite so scared. My dad MADE me learn to drive. Sometimes I still make a right and then turn around to get where I need to go. I am obviously weird. I should move to New Jersey. I wish you could upload the images in your head so I could feel like I had been there. I recognized Dani easily in the picture SNM posted but searched and searched for you and others, but it is true what they say about turning forty plus. My kids mock me when I make the text larger but I could not make the photo larger. Believe me I tried. :) The Home Trippers made it all bearable and I love them for that. It's July and I am not in Michigan for those three weeks and I am jonesing for my mother in a huge way. I am going to try to get to Michigan in February, on Rodeo Weekend when the kids get out of school on Thursday and Friday because the rodeo is that important here in Tucson. I plan to take Sam out of school Monday through Wednesday and go see my mom, leaving my teens and Rich to fend for themselves. Start saving and meet me in Chicago. We'll rent a car. I'll pump the gas if you'll do the left hand turns. Was there any talk of a new series? I missed you and all our road tripping friends and it's good to have you back. :D

Tell me, what it is you plan to do with your one wild and precious life? -Mary Oliver

LOL! I could figure out who Laura was either! I finally got it after looking at so many pix! (2+2=? lightbulb!)
And I just figured out who Becky was, too! I am so used to everone's screen name! :p

Missy

Shelly, great observations! You guys were cracking me up :) all weekend.

I noticed that Cathe didn't sweat either!

It was such an amazing experience, meeting everyone and working out LIVE with Cathe and crew.

And, Lime Cat, YOU ROCK too.

ps...I bought Terminator on Sunday morning :D

She definitely didn't take it EASY on us! We EARNED those showers! The kickboxing one was the toughest. They were all really great workouts. Cathe grunted and groaned with us and at one point heaved a huge "ARRRRRGGGGHHHHH!" while we were doing push-ups! That either helped you through it for longer or helped you collapse on the floor in laughter!

Angie

OMG Angie that was one of my favorite moments of the w/e--it is really difficult to do pushups when you're laughing so hard!
