Muscle soreness

I'm in PT for what seems to be muscle strain in my neck and shoulder. They apply heat when they work on me.

I think warmth is more soothing for DOMS. It probably won't help the soreness go away any faster (and neither will cold), but you may find it soothing. :)

Same here, but nice warm baths or showers sure help too. I also try to get in some light cardio, too. That seems to helps.

Marla:)

I always heard heat if used should be right after an injury (could be an old wives tale though!!) or before the injury is worked on...For DOMS...I use a very warm sports creme before I stretch and workout again and ice immediately following my workout in the painful area. I have always been a huge ice fan...whatever works...:)...Carole
