Moment of Truth Sept 23 /05

OKAY I've made a decision. ACK! I slept wrong or something last night and my neck is hurting in the worst way! I thought once I was up and moving around it would loosen up and feel better, but it's not at all. I've taken advil and given it time , but it is just as bad. I can barely turn my head at all and moving in certain positions takes my breath away. :eek: There is no way I can do weight work. I just can't do it. :( So this is a time where I have to listen to my body and in particular my neck and it is SCREAMING.......DON'T YOU DARE!!!!!!!!!!
Dh said "why don't you give it a rest and just take your advil and lay down". Well , I'll take half of his advice,... I took the advil and I think I can manage my exercise bike. So I'm thinking I will watch a show I taped while pedalling.

I'm sorry about straying from the rotation Jane & Kali and maybe I'll feel like I have to make it up on Sunday, but it's just not possible for me today. ;(
 
Becky, don't you dare be sorry. If you neck is hurting like that, you'd be crazy to force it and do weights. Listen to your body or you'll wind up injured! You are doing the right thing.
 
Charlotte and Wendy- Your not alone.I think we all feel as if we can't read all of the post.The last time I posted I think there may have been 7 post here and now there are 21. Just don't have time.
I would love to get one of my friends to try an Imax workout but I know that they will get confused.I agree you can handle the weight workouts better but people who aren't use to working out think its all UP and Down, Up and Down....but no...there are low ends,parcial reps...etc..you know what I am saying.But yes it was a good choice.We did MM b/c I loaned out PH and ME.Im soon gonna have to get them back though.

DH left a while ago to get a coffee and hasn't returned.Now I haven't had a "real" coffee yet so I am getting sleepy! There is no way I can run with this little bit of energy.IS it to early to take a nap?:)

Becky, listen to your body. Maybe you slept on it wrong?? Just relax and let the Advil kick in. Yes you are doing the right thing. It's not worth hurting yourself over. :)

Charlotte, I like Spam too. It's horrible for us tho isn't it? Did you say your parents are coming for a visit? How nice. Enjoy your time w/ them.

Jane, hope you're getting caught up w/ your work. I cannot even remember what we are doing today. Oh yes PLB and abs. I'm going for a walk/ run too.

Nancy, oh your night w/ DH sounds wonderful. I hope you're ok today. One more day!!! Are you excited??? Is your stepson nervous??

Kim, so glad you got a good bike. Good job with no sweets. I believe no sweets is the most important factor when watching what we eat. We need all the other stuff in moderation. But for me, sweets in moderation is just not realistic! LOL!

Lori, have a great weekend w/ your family! And try to be supportive of your friend trying Cathe for the 1st time. I can't even imagine any of my friends trying it. I did not forget to mail you back. Just been crazy this past week. ;)


Wendy, hope you're working out. I'm going for my walk/run soon as they go to school. Good luck getting the cals in today!

Good morning Kali... I won't get all of my time lost made up but I have the best boss in the world and she told me to do what I could and take paid time off for the rest. She is really great.

Charlotte - I love Spam but I have not had it in too many years go count. I'll make a note to read the nut. label on it when I go to the store, I might have to put it back on the shelf!!:p

Spam is probably mostly all sodium unky junky bunky stuff! LOL! Don't know, don't eat it myself. LOL! Gives me the heebee jeebees when I think of what might be mangled up in that concoction of meat. LOL!

It is alittle early for a nap, but that nap I took yesterday gave me some serious energy. It was only 20 mins since my NEIGHBOR woke me up hammering away like a maniac! Take one if you can though. Hope you can.

Well, I guess there are just days you aren't meant to exercise.
I'm fine, just frustrated . First I wasn't able to do the weight workout from the rotation, so I decided to ride my stationary bike. I got all ready to go and pedaled comfortably for close to 10 minutes when the display went blank. DEAD BATTERIES! and no replacements! We have every size battery in this house (mostly bought in bulk at Sam's) EXCEPT C and of course, that's what it takes. Soooooooooooo, I got on the treadmill and managed to walk for 2 miles. Not very comfortable, but manageable.

If I feel a little better later in the day, maybe I'll repeat that. Right now, I think I'm going to take a hot shower and then later maybe wear one of those heated patches and try to get this to loosen up some.

Jane, thanks. I know you are right. I do not want an injury because I didn't want to take a day off !!!
I'm glad you have a good boss, who was understanding of your situation. I'm also very glad to hear your daugher is doing better.
My migraines last 72 hours, so I can really sympathize.

Becky - I have had days like that where everything seems to work against you getting in a workout. Hopefully this afternoon your neck will feel better and you will get in a good workout.

Kali - I read that your speech went well. Great job!

Wendy - I love the christening pics. Joey gets cuter with every picture.

This week has been crazy and sometimes when I log on there are 50 replies to the check in and I feel bad not reading those before I post. It is also TTOM and last night I had to give in and go to the store and buy a bag of Sun Chips. I had started craving them on Tuesday and I figured I should just buy them so I didn't eat everything else here.

I got my new DVDs so I am excited to try those. Probably not today. I have a jam packed day. Getting my oil changed is being inserted into my workout time slot. It's a month overdue and I jsut cannot find the time to get it done.

Kali-thanks so much. That homemade pasta dinner was worth every calorie and the air was so cool and breezy outside while we were sitting at the outdoor cafe. It was delightful and smoothed over all the rough spots of the day.

Well, ladies, today is finalfittingmax. I'll go with my DH to make sure his tuxedo fits well, then he'll come with me to see how my dress fits and to learn how to tie the shawl on my dress for the big day. I hear the weather is going to be nice on Sunday, thank goodness. Rain would have been such a bummer.

Good Morning :)

I skimmed through all the posts quickly as I have class in an hour and have to get ready still. Yesterday I did S&H Shoulders and legs - I really like that workout but I never get DOMS in my shoulders and it's annoying me! LOL, only a Cathe fan would complain about NOT being in pain. My legs, especially glutes, have light DOMS but nothing in my shoulders, oh well! They are shaping up nicely since starting this rotation, so I can't really complain.

Today I'll maybe do a cardio plus S&H bi's/tri's...We'll see, I'm a little distracted by "Rita" since my in-laws are just NE of Houston. They decided early on to stay put, but then when it reached cat 5, and changed course, thought they should go but didn't want to risk getting stranded in traffic (who can blame them? what a mess.) We tried to call them last night but all cell phone curcuits were busy and their home phone was busy. We finally got though to them via IM and found out that they weren't even on their phone, they can only make calls out. It's so frustrating that this is happening again, I really hope that FEMA, or whoever really, is able to get all those stranded motorists to safety...

Ok, on a lighter note! Hi to Lori, Wendy, Becky, Kali, Nancy, Charlotte, and anyone else I've missed :)

I came to the conclusion that YES..it is to early to nap.So I went around the house and moved the clocks forward.So now it is 1 and I am free to nap. Good night:)

Hi Gals.

I got in my cardio before Joey got up this morning...CTX step and intervals + Kickbox back to back with S/I w/u and K/B cool down and stretch. Burned up 500 cals! Now I'm getting ready to take that ride up to my old job this morning. Coremax tonight, I PROMISE! Even if I have to do it at 10pm after I put Joey down for the night! I'm not goin' out tonight like I usually do though so I'll have more time to get it done....

Have a great rest of the morning everyone and I'll be back later in the day!:)

Oh and BTW...those LARGER size bottoms I had to buy after Joey was born are gettin' loser on me every time I put them on! ;) :D :7 I have the capris on right now and they are not as snuggly as they were the last time I wore them. Gotta love it! :+

Today I have stepblast ans push/pull. I find it to be a bit easy so I do he pre-mix and do it twice.

Hi Guys. What's happening?

Jane, I am having brown rice w/ chicken and some salsa. I had scrambled egg whites on ww toast w/ low fat cheese for breakfast.
I walked this morning for 40 min. and I just got done w/ PLB and I did stability ball abs from HSCI. I was going to do upper body too, but I'm feeling my arms from all the stability ball work today so I think I'll pass. I can always do it later.
How DD doing? Better I hope.

Lori have a great trip. Try not to let anyone aggrivate you. I know someone in my family always does. ;-)

Wendy, I'm so happy for you that your clothes are getting bigger on you! That is so inspiring. Good job getting your w/o in too.

No guitar lesson today. :-( DGT is on his way to see the Yankees. He's a HUGE fan. Die hard. Bums me out but tomorrow is his BD so......I'm glad he has the opportunity to go. :)
Hey Terri, that place I ordered the guitar picks from is closed due to the hurricane. They plan on opening on the 27th. I'm glad I wasn't planning on giving them to him tomorrow aina?? I just hope all those people will be ok. :-(

Hey Kali... I am just finishing lunch and heading back to work. I am going to start PLB as soon as my feet hit the ground when I get off work, I'm even putting my w/o clothes on now. This afternoon is going to be pushed and I wanted to get my w/o in. We are meeting DS, DIL, and in-laws at the fish camp for DH's birthday. He will be 46 Monday. DD is doing good, she went back to work this morning with still a little bit of a headache. She won't get to go this evening because she has to be with her cheerleaders at the game since she's the coach. We are doing some things together tomorrow though.

I get broiled flounder at the fish camp and limit the hushpuppies to two, so I can be good there.

I'm back home. Joey seems to be workin' on taking his afternoon snooze and I just finished eating something. Now I have to wash dishes and toss in a load of laundry....I'm hankering for a cup of java too so I'll have to get the a-brewin' while I'm washing the dishes. :9
