Cathlete
Good Morning Everyone,
Wendy must have been in bed before 12 lasi night:) I was so sleepy last night that I started to fall asleep aroun 9:30 but I forced to stay awake until 11.

I am up really early (on a dat off) b/c I have a friend comming over to work out:eek: She has never done weights with CAthe before so this coupld be quit the experience.Sometimes it is hard b/c I get into a fit of laughing. Not at the person, really,. but at their facial expressions and then the one where Cathe says 15 more and they look at her like she as lost it!:)
Other then that, no workout last night.I think I am going to go out of town today for the night.MY SIL is comming home with her 2 kids and it is always worth the trip when you see the 2 yr old, see my 9 yr old.She loves her so much and she never knows what to do with herself.SHe starts dancing and going around in circles.
Can you imagine being that excited? SO we are going to have a nice family weekend. And Im sure I will have to watch myself at the christianing.
I was also right, TTOM is here, which explains why I was so crabby at work:) The guy I work with must think that I have some sort of disorder b/c somedays I am prefect and other days I am soooooo moody.I was gonna tell him that if I am like this it is b/c TTOM is comming ( I am not shy:) ) but then he is the type to nag so that is probably all I will ever hear.

Must go get ready to workout.I will let you know how it goes!
Lori:)

Good morning fitness buddies..

Lori - I'm up early this morning too. With the work I lost yesterday, I started at 4 this morning and worked until 5:30. I'm taking off an hour to eat breakfast, etc., then back at 6:30.

Wendy - about being emotionally involved in the cases I type, I find that I am, for most part, detached from them. It helps actually not seeing these patients face to face but I did use to work in the lab at a hospital years ago. I was a phlebotomist (drew blood). Even seeing the patients, I was able to detach myself emotionally. I think you have to.

Becky/Kali - I am playing around with the idea of doing the PLB/PUB bonus combo today instead of just PLB. I want to incorporate more upper body but I don't want to cheat by not giving my lower body the full workout time Cathe has written into this rotation. My other option was to do PUB on Sunday, the rest day. I don't know if I like that idea! I need to take my rest days. They are so few. What do you think and what is your plans.

Off to get some breakfast now.

LOL Lori. You are right...I was tired and in bed around 10:15 last night. I am up early for who knows what reason. I just woke up. x(

What time is your friend coming to w/o with you, Lori?

Jane~How is your daughter feeling?

Kali~So I had AIM up last night and you weren't there! Doesn't that figure!?:p

Becky~Walking "death hill" today?

Today is cardio and abs only...that's gonna be like a summer vacation after Body Max yesterday! :p

Time to get my coffee! I have been up all of 10 minutes and haven't brewed it yet...I must be out of my mind this morning!

BBS!:)

Jane,

I guess if you don't learn to detach yourself from the situation you will go crazy...I can certainly understand that. Who would want to work in a job where they were weepy all day long anyway, right? lol

Have a good breakfast! What's on the menu and can I have some? :9 :p

Good Morning Lori & Jane and everyone after.....

Wow, you are the early bird today Jane- getting so much work done already!! Please let us know how your daughter is doing today.

I like your PLB/PUB idea. I really don't want to give up my rest day on this rotation either. I think after 6 days our bodies are ready for a break, and they benefit from it. I had been looking at adding some cardio (just don't feel like I've totally worked out when I leave it out!), but I think you are more on the mark with your upper body idea. We really are lacking that in this rotation.
I LOVE what it is doing for my abs and lower body but my upper, is saying "what about me????"

I am going to do what the rotation says and then add some upper body too. I'm thinking maybe the 34 min Upper -body muscle conditioning from Body max or the upper body split on CTX....will let you know what I end up doing.
Thanks for the inspiration!:D

Hope everyone slept well and has a FANTASTIC FRIDAY!!!!! TGIF !!!

Hi Wendy! ( I wish I had a "waving" icon :) )

We were posting at the same time.

Death hill is a Sunday morning thing. DH walks with me and we go to get a Sunday paper and then back home. It's about a 50 minute walk with a STEEP, long hill to go up on the way home!}(

Oops! Your post reminds me I haven't made the coffee yet either! :p
I don't drink it but hubby will be up soon and he really doesn't function without it.

Just wanted to say hi !!

Becky,

50 mins to walk back and forth to get a newspaper??? Holy Cow! Do you intentionally make it that long or do you live in the woods?? :)

My sister used to live in the woods in VT. She literally had to DRIVE EVERYWHERE she went and couldn't really get anywhere in less than 30 mins! CRAZY! She's still living in a rural area but not nearly as isolated these days.

Good morning Wendy and Becky... I just talked to DD. She still has a headache but is feeling a little better. She is going to take another 800 mg. Motrin with her breakfast. Wendy, with migraines, you can have neurological deficits before the headache hits. I have only had one migraine in my life and it was around 24 years old. The first symptom I had was half of my visual field went dark. I could look at the page of a magazine and not see half the page. I thought I was having a stroke!!! About 45 minutes after onset of this symptom, I had the worst headache of my life. I couldn't even hold my head up, I had to lay in a dark room the rest of that day, very nauseated also. DD had a migraine when she was about 13 years old and she started with numbness and drawing in her hand and then numbness of one side of her lips, much like this time.

Wendy - I just had breakfast.... 1/2 cup plain yogurt, 1/2 cup blueberries and one piece of whole wheat toast, 1/4 cup Egg Beaters, and a 2 oz. piece of livermush. For those of you not in the south, you may have know what livermush is but it is good!!!

Becky - I really hate not doing all of PLB, I'll feel like I'm not doing the rotation as written, so I will probably do as you are doing and add a short upper body sometimes, maybe off the BB TimeSaver which is a good 25 to 30 w/o hitting all upper body parts.

I have to go back to work in about 15 minutes, so I'd better get my dishwasher emptied. Talk to all of you later.

Wendy, you just described where I live!! I can, however, get to a grocery store in 15 minutes since they built one in the little town I am close nearer to my side of the county. But to go to the mall, the nearest town/city is about 30 minutes.

Hi Girls,

I am done my workout with friend #1 but I think my running partner will be calling be later to go for a run, which is fine b/c I will need to do cardio:) She did pretty good and I didn't scare her off.Which is a plus, b/c I think with advanced workouts, people can easily run away with their tails between their legs:) She use to workout before so I didn't have to watch her form and stuff.
Anyway, off to get into the shower and get DD off to schoolf.
Lori:)

Hi Jane.

Country living like that is beautiful. I loved going to visit my sister when she lived in VT. It was like entering a totally different world! The entire state of VT was sooo different and sooo pretty! That being said, I don't think I could do it....not after living in Jersey all of my life. I don't know how my sister did it but she ended up LOVING it! This is the same woman who graduated from college and got her first job out of school in NYC and ended up living there for a while and loving it! The girl couldn't even boil water for pasta and now she's a long time SAHM who can cook a 7 course meal in the blink of an eye!!! She is the complete opposite of the sister I grew up with. Her family only moved out of VT because my BIL got transferred with his job. Now they live in upstate NY.

Have you lived in a rural area all of your life?

Lori,

Cathe's weight work is much less intimidating than her cardio IMO because all you have to do is lower the weight you are using to make it doable. Cardio on the other hand is all about choreography in addition to intensity. The intensity level can easily be dropped in Cathe's cardio but if you don't get the choreography you are lost! So it was a good choice to have your friend do a weight vid first. Which one did you do, btw?

Ha Wendy!

No, I'm not as "country" as Jane sounds like she is .....(what IS livermush???):p
We have many stores and resteraunts a few minutes away. But I am just outside the city limits, so no sidewalks or good ways to get there w/o the car. We pick that particular walk (DH) strictly because the hill is there and it's such a good workout. The store is actually 2 or 3 minutes by car......but is a longer walk because there are no sidewalks, the big hill.....etc.. HONEST! We are walking at a good pace!!

The woods of Vermont are beautiful! I grew up in Connecticut and loved it.

LOL.... Becky, it is a breakfast meat but it is very low in fat. It eat on toast with Egg Beaters. I didn't think you could get it outside this the southeast. I know Florida doesn't have it either. DH goes there on his job and he had somebody who had moved from NC to there ask him to bring them some.

I betcha don't know what grits are either?:7

Becky,

It actually sounds like fun and it gives you and DH time together. :) So does your DH w/o aside from this weekly walk? I can hardly get my DH to WALK with me let alone anything else! LOL :p He actually wants to gain weight/add muscle. He's too thin. Has been this way all of his life and hates it. He needs to eat more and lift in order to do this though and I don't think the motivation (or the appetite!) is there...:-(

Okay Jane......but how can LIVER be lowfat? and does it taste like liver??

You lose the bet on grits!!!! I thought I wouldn't like them but my husbands favorite meal when we go to South Carolina is shrimp and grits and I finally tried them , and they were TERRIFIC! I LOVED them!
Of course, I'm sure they make them with butter and cream and who knows what else, so I dont' order them. But they were YUMMY!!!:)

All I can say is Good Morning to all of you. You all are so busy this morning that your giving me a headache! So much chatting going on already...how do you expect me to read all these post!!!! LOL!

I did read the part about livermush. I don't think I would like it. LOL! I have heard of it though. My grandpa use to eat it all the time. I just don't like liver at all so I can't imagine livermush. JMHO.

Hope you all have a great day and great workouts! Glad the hurricane has diminished some in strength...last I heard it did.

Charlotte~~

Becky/Charlotte, I just looked at the ingredients label and it has pork livers in it as well as corn meal... it is in a block and you slice it and brown it in some cooking spray. I have eaten beef liver and onions before and while it isn't my favorite, it isn't bad. I don't eat it now at all, I steer away from anything beef as much as possible.

For a 2 oz. slice, which is the serving size, it is 80 calories and 4 gms. of fat, not too bad. It really is very good. I guess I was just raised on it so I don't really think about what in it as much as how good it tastes.

It's just one of those regional things I guess.

BTW, shrimp and grits are fabulous!!! I love them!

Jane,

My hubby just thinks SPAM is the greatest thing! It is o.k. Never tried grits before, but love my seafood as I am a Maryland girl and we are taught how to eat crabs when we are in our highchairs! LOL!
