Oh my gosh! Kali that is what my family calls me! My best friend at work also calls me that. Well whatta know!:p


My mom and grandmother used to call me Kim Kat. I have not figured that one out yet!;-)

Kali, you are going to be great! Just remember to take a few deep breaths before you go on stage and that the best thing to do is to talk slow. Often people get on stage and are nervous and speed through their speech. No matter how slow you think you are talking up there, talk slower. It makes it easier for people to follow along & really understand what you are saying. It very rarely happens that people complain about a speaker talking too slow (too long, yes and definitely too fast but hardly ever too slow).

Plus, you are going to have friends there for support. Look at them if that helps you.

You've already done the hardest part - staying sober - so this talk is a piece of cake (or with our healthy lifestyles, a piece of cantaloups!)

Just got off work and trying to muster the get up and go to do ME. I'll get into the groove in a minute... I just feel so lethargic. I've had a big weekend and it is beginning to tell on me!

I am feeling that way too.

My day has had many changes to it......we didn't go out to breakfast, cuz dh decided he wanted a breakfast sandwich from that golden arches place......so he got that and I made 4 egg whites with spinach and salsa. So far so good on the diet. But then we went out for chinese for lunch! ACK! Now, not so good!:eek: We split what I always get (chinese vegetables) and what he always gets (sesame chicken) and egg rolls came with it.
Then we came home and ate some Ben & Jerrys!! WHY??? I don't know!!!! Cuz it was there????? I am not used to the fried and breaded stuff and I am paying for it by being soooooooooooooooo lethargic and blaaaaaah this afternoon.
Dh is watching the Bengals play and I am just laying around. ugh

We are going to hike in the woods when the game is done but I am going to have to FORCE myself! No energy here at all !!!

Advice to self: THINK BEFORE YOU EAT!!!!!!! And remember, I felt GREAT after the eggwhites& spinach, HORRIBLE after the ice cream and heavy chinese food!!!

Kali, go get 'em! We are ALL thinking about you and supporting you!!!!!! You CAN do this!!!!

Hope you get ME in today Jane. Maybe it will give you a boost!;-)
 
Hey Becky... I've got on my work out clothes and about to put on my shoes. I am NOT wanting to do this but I will NOT let this feeling control me, I will control it.... (that sounds good at least:+ ). I am hoping the endorphins kick in and give me a boost.

Becky - sesame chicken is my absolute favorite. I can't go to the chinese place with DD because they have a buffet and DD can eat only chicken and broccoli which is the best thing you can eat... No I have to have the sesame chicken, the crab ragoons, the egg rolls, and everything else on the buffet that you shouldn't have. She has gotten mad at me a few times because I refused to go there with her. Don't beat yourself up because it is so hard to resist that food when it is staring you in the face. I know, I face it all the time!

Becky, that concoction you put together with the peppermint patty?? I can't remember what all was in it but it got me thinking.... how does this sound?

1 scoop of chocolate protein powder
1 T instant coffee
1 cup skim milk
1 tsp of creme de menthe
ice cubes.


Do you think that would taste like a peppermint patty iced coffee? It would be low in fat and calories. I'm not sure of the amounts, I may have to tweak it some.

I don't have any creme de menthe but I am planning to pick up some.

Ok, ME is history thank goodness. I really wasn't into working out today, I'm just so tired from all my running starting on Friday.

Gone to get some food!!! I'm starving!
 
Becky/Kali... this week is cardio-heavy isn't it? I hope my new SJP/SB DVD gets here before Wednesday but if it doesn't, I just stick to my original plan of piecing together SJP from the TimeSaver.

I have IMAX3

Don't have the new Total Body Stretching so I'm subbing a StretchMax segment

I have LowMax and CoreMax

I don't have any of the PS series so I'll be subbing PLB and Ab Hits #11 to cover the abs on the PS Legs and Abs

Sat - Again I don't have the new w/o's but somebody had posted this substitution on another thread and it looks pretty good, LowMax premix and PLB stability ball w/o..subbing for Lower Body Cardio Blast... what do y'all think?

Again, using SM for the new stretch DVD.



Alot of subbing this week for me.

I'm PROUD of you for doing ME even when you were tired and didn't feel like it !!! WAY TO GO!

I too, dragged my sorry butt out the door to the car and we drove to the state park and had a FANTASTIC walk in the woods! I even took some pictures. Lots of hills and climbing , and we walked for over an hour. I feel much better than I did!
And thanks for the pep talk....that helped too. ;-)

YES, your smoothie idea sounds great!! It would work because I've made it exactly the same way with Torani (brand) chocolate mint syrup. I hope you like it as much as I do. I think they are a great, refreshing treat and you can have them w/o the guilt you would have drinking a Starbucks concoction. ;-)

Tomorrow is another day! :)
 
Yes good job Jane! I know it's not easy working out when you're tired or not into it. It seems to last forever!

You too Becky for walking! I love walking in the woods. It's such a nice change from walking on the Main St.

I'm gonna try that smoothie too Jane. I've never even tried to make one. Hec I just started eating yogurt a few months ago.

I got All Step in this afternoon and DH and I just got back from a ride on our Harley. It was nice. I got my thoughts together while we were riding up the country.

Thank you so much all of you for your support! You have no idea how much it means to me to know you guys are all here for me. How we're all here for each other. :)

I hope Wendy is having a great time at the party! She is probably exhausted by now! And being sick the poor thing! Hope she checks in later.

Hey Becky/Kali....

Becky, do they make that choc mint syrup in sugar-free? I buy Torani Hazelnut SF and I have a variety of Monin O'Free SF syrups to use in my Italian sodas.

Great job on that walk Becky, it feels good after you get started. I am so glad I am done with my workout. I am going to be early tonight but Kali, I'll be up at 8:30, don't worry. I'll be thinking about you then.

I hope Wendy did alright at the party today too. I know she has to be tired Kali with all the preparations this week, the wedding Friday night and then today. Wendy, get plenty of sleep tonight!!

I've seen a lot of the flavors in Sugar free but haven't found the chocolate mint in sf yet.:-( Maybe somebody carries it , just not the stores I've checked.

I am a very bad girl today. I did not get in my workouts or eat enought! Get out the whip! YEOW! I had soooo much fun decorating that I just didn't want to pull myself away. It is a special time for me to decorate for Halloween. I really get into it...brings out the kid in me. I got green glow in the dark cob webs on my black shutters and some green primitive candles to put on the windowsills. I got bats and furry "real looking" rats out there. Our very own graveyard and still got inside decorations to do. Not to mention painting again. I have to go over the ceiling that DH did. It looks too patchy.
Tomorrow is a new day, but I am happy my decorations are up. It took me a long time. Fighting off biting gnats from hell all the way. Cows still lurking up and down our road. Seems like someone did not fix the fence to keep them in. Needless to say, today was entertaining!!!! LOL!

Hi. I feel like I've been run over my 10 trucks! LOL I am soooo tired and the cold is still kickin' my butt in addition! Christening went well. I am relieved. Had fun but it was a long and stressful time also. Glad I can relax now. Some pics are up in picture trail...

Ahh Wendy Joey gets cuter every picture! He is so adorable :) Sorry to hear you are still sick and I hope it goes away soon. You look great too by the way! Oh and mom's cousin Lee is very HOT!!!! Is he single? :) Sorry I couldn't resist.
