Modern chicks! Plz help me with my 'do!!

Kel - I couldn't handle going short all at once either. That is why I kind of did "progressive" cuts until I worked up the nerve to do it. I still haven't gotten it as angled as I want.

What a transformation for that woman on Oprah--that took off years!

IA w/ the others -- I think going shorter is the way to go for both of you. I know it's hard to do when you've kept your hair long for some time, but I think turning 40 is the perfect time to do something radical!

Can't wait to see the pics!

Kel, I think you are so pretty and, when you're feeling ready, a new 'do would make you feel terrific.

Maybe I've watched too many episodes of What Not to Wear with SO (and wanted to SMACK that woman every time) but I have to say that every person on there who has the same style for years and years looks, well, old. I know I do.

Then when they get made-over the new hairstyle just really freshens up their looks tremendously.

So, that's where I'm at. I know it's time to lose this do. I just don't think my curls have the same chutzpa as Carols so I'm looking for something intermediate.

I'm scanning the fabulous model I mentioned earlier and I'll post her later on.

Dial up. x(

OK, here she is - it may come out weird since I scanned the image from a visual journal I keep and, well, technology.

Oh my goodness... that's it, I think! It's not too short, the curls are soft, it's nice & layered, & there is still some height on top too. I love it & I can't wait to see how it looks on you!

Thanks for the kind words, Suzanne.:) All of this talk is really making me want to do something. But I haven't even scheduled an appointment & I'll have to find a salon I want to use first too. For now, I'm just really looking forward to seeing your results!:D

You look fabulous dahling!;) Proud of you for taking the plunge, you look younger too.:) Not that you looked old at all! But I am the same, my hair cannot be too long or it ages me, you look awesome!

WOW!!! How good are you!!!

VERY VERY NICE. BET YOU FEEL GOOD TOO! :) :) :)

WHAT A SPUNK.

Fashion Police love it!

Andrea;)

SUZANNE! It looks FABULOUS! It really, truly suits you much better than the long hair did. Congrats on taking the plunge!

YEA SUZANNE!!!! I love it and it takes years off your lovely face ;). That's a very nice length on you, by the way, and the style looks very similar to that last picture you posted. Your SO is going to flip over it -- just you wait and see.

Okay Kel -- it's your turn :p :7

Pizazz - looks great.

What I like about having wavy/curly hair is if I want, I can straighten it.

With that length you have tons of options if you opt for something other than wash 'n wear (always my fave doo!).

So the fun part for me after cutting my "butt" length hair was the first time washing it in the shower ! All of a sudden you only need a few drops of shampoo and your hands are at the ends of your doo but seem to want to go further - they're looking for the rest of your hair}(

Again, very very nice.

Thanks everyone! I do love it. Now that I've had a couple of showers and styling activites - wow! So much easier to scrunch and go.

SO was a bit taken aback. I showed up with it still blow dried out and I'm never that "styled". He said I looked "windblown". So, I know that he doesn't really like it, but he likes me and over time he'll get used to it.

I greatly enjoyed this whole experience of asking all you wonderful folks for your opinions.

You are the best!!!

OK, Kel, you're next!

Sorry I'm so late posting but I was just so busy over the weekend that I didn't have any time. First, your new 'do looks wonderful, Suzanne! ITA with everything everyone has already said... but I'll say it again anyway. It's very flattering!:) Now I'm even more inspired & excited about doing something with my old style. I found a few pictures of styles that I'm interested in but I'll start a new thread after I've uploaded them. I've also found a couple of local salons that I'm interested in but I still haven't made an appointment yet. Thanks for sharing this experience with us, Suzanne! I'll be sure to do the same thing when I take the plunge!;-)
