Ladies,
I'm wondering if any of you can give me some input concerning the home microdermabrasion kits you buy at the drugstore(Neutrogena, etc). Did you get good results, if any? Were there any cons? All imput is appreciated!! Thanks!!

Hello,

I bought the L'Oreal version and have been very happy with it. I use it two or three times a week, and it really makes my pores appear smaller!

Doesn't do anything noticable for wrinkles, but I don't think anything over the counter helps wrinkles anyway...

I got the Loreal one too. I like it, my skin is smoother, it's not getting as oily during the day (BIG difference there) and I think my pores appear smaller too. I want to try the peel system by MD Forte. I saw it on skinstore.com and it claims to help with discolorations and acne scars, both of which I have. Acne scars aren't severe but they're there and I got discoration from being out in the sun while on an antibiotic (I even had SPF 15 on). I tried OBAGI for awhile and it didn't help. I got a peel once by an asthetician and the skin on my face literally fell off. It was awful, I was at a restaurant w/ my DH and friends and I went to the bathroom and a sheet of skin that covered my entire chin was hanging off!!! It was like something out of a horror movie. My skin was super smooth after all the peeling subsided but I don't want to go through that again. I really don't think the peel system by MD Forte is near that strong. Good luck deciding what to get!

Carolyn, I highly recommend dermadoctor.com. This is a great website and they carry microdermabrasion kits. They offer tons of information as well as product reviews and it's really helpful. I buy all of my skin care products from this website which is run by a dermatologist, Dr. Audrey Kunin, an Ohio State grad (go bucks!). I have never had a problem ordering from them they are very good about answering questions via email.

Ashley, I heard that MD Forte is going to stop selling their products through online vendors--that they are only going to be available from dermatologists. I have always used MD Forte and have had to change product lines.

I've been using the Olay Regenerist kit. Two parts - one is a microdermabrasion cream followed by a lactic acid gel (like a peel). I love it!! My skin feels so smooth and soft after I'm done and I've noticed a definite difference in the clarity and tone of my skin. My skin feels and looks better than when I get a professional facial!! I highly recommend it!!

I've done the L'Oreal kit and liked it a lot, and made it last a long time. I need another one! They're spendy but like they say...I'm worth it!

Another vote for L'Oreal. My ex SIL (I know funny huh - when I was married we weren't close but now we are!) bought it for me in 04 for xmas. I've bought it a few times since.

I highly recommend it.

I have the Neutrogena microdermabrasion kit and liked it at first but then my skin started breaking out. I have pretty sensitive skin (any oil and I break out) and I don't think it is an oil free product so it didn't work for me.

Does anyone know if the L'Oreal kit, the Olay Regenerist kit or the MDForte products have oil?

Thanks,
Diane
