MIA Ectochicks

Hey ectos,

Even though our weekly thing hasn't been happening lately - maybe everyone's taking a summer break? - I thought I'd post and see if anyone wanted to check in on an occasional basis.

Things have been pretty hectic in my life. As you know, DH and I moved a couple of weeks ago AND I started a new job on Monday. I'm working for the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission now and it is so cool! My new office has a woodsy view with bird feeders hanging outside the bank of windows. Squirrels, birds and chipmunks are cavorting a few feet away. The squirrels come right up along the glass on the window sill and take a flying leap to the bird feeder hanging about three feet away. It's too funny.

Anyway, I hope things are going to settle down to "normal," whatever that is. I'm happy to say I've started a Slow and Heavy rotation this week and am seeing (and feeling!) some good results already. It's been a while since I've used this series. I did the legs/shoulders twice this week and will finish up with Power Hour on Thursday for my "endurance" workout.

I had a follow up visit with the hemotologist that was giving me the iron I.V.s. He was surprised and frustrated to see that my levels were as low as before we started. Well, at least I got a good tan. Ha. However, I feel like I'm starting to get some of my old energy back - thank goodness.

Briee, are you over the icky phase of pregnancy? Hope so!

Hope everyone's enjoying their summer!

Angela

Hi Angela! :)

It's good to hear from you! I've missed checking in too, just lurking around the boards, posting here and there. :)

I'm definitely NOT taking a summer break! I've been plotting monthyly rotations for myself. June was supposed to focus on muscle endurance but we had some bad storms earlier in the month followed by a tornado, so our power was out for a few days and of course I let that throw me off track. But with the clean up and purchasing foods to re-stock the fridge, I think I got in a couple of nice workouts! :)

I recently tried a combination that I thought was a great workout: Power Circuit intervals plus PS/SLA calf and floor work. I've started back running, so that's the main reason behind the endurance work. This weekend I plan to try PC intervals plus LL. Cross your fingers I make it through! :D

Hope some of the other Ecto's chime in! I miss the chatter! Thanks for bringing us together. And yes, I'd be more than happy to check in here and there.

Angela, sorry to hear that your hemoglobin levels are no longer on the rise. :( I hope you and your doctor are able to come up with a solution soon. Take care of yourself!

Hey Angela and Angie, I was looking for another thread when I came across this way down on the fifth page, I completely missed it, but was glad I came across it as I was looking for another. So sorry.

Angela, I'm soooo very happy for you, what a great place to work. I think the Lord opens many opportunities through the changes that we sometimes view as "tough". Are you all moved in?

I missed the Ectochick thread very much and felt kind of like a wanderer for a while, but then started checking in on a prego thread. I would be fine with both as I miss chatting with you all. If you post - I'll check in (as long as I don't miss it like this one). I've been checking the board every few days and as it's been busy, so bump if I miss something PLEASE!!

Briee

Hey, ectochicks! :7

I missed it too!

Good to hear from y'all. I've had way too many things on my plate so far. The good news: it's my ecto birthday Saturday! Yahoo!

I've been following Briee's suggestion on trying HST training and I am LOVING the results.

Briee, you're in my will as of today. Thank you.

Julie

"The will"

Oooooooooo Julie....so what do I get??? Do you have a spare bicep vein laying around the house that you can will me???

RE: "The will"

Actually, Briee . . .

It's a nice length of my favorite garden hose that you can cut to desired length and put pantyhose over so it looks like you have the most gargantuan mega-veins ever known to man/womankind.

Yup, I knew you'd love that! All the vein, none of the work.

:+ :+ :+ :7
