Low carbers - July 2009

Hey, everyone. I didn't realize it's been a week since I was here. Last week I finished up meso 2 wk 2 and thought I couldn't do any more (getting that bored feeling), then I somehow just started doing wk 3. Yesterday I did the leg part, so I'm moving right along.

Well, DS is on his way back home from CA. That lasted 5 weeks. He ran out of money and got kicked out of where he was staying. He decided to ride his scooter to LA (don't laugh). He got 20 miles south and was on a rural road, a rabbit ran in front of him, he swirved and crashed. He totalled the scooter. Someone saw him and took him to the hospital. He got released and called home collect saying he wanted to come home. Here he was in this small town, so the Greyhound bus came to mind, there was a station 3 miles from him and the bus happened to be leaving that evening. So I bought him a ticket home. He has no money for food, called me when he was in Reno asking if I'd put some money in his account so he could get some food. Well, I didn't do it because I thought he's just going to buy a sandwich and gamble the rest. I told him to just drink lots of water. So he's traveling with no money (I know, I'm mean), but I am praying that something sinks into his head on this ride home. He needs to feel a little hungry and vunerable, he needs to see how things can go wrong quickly when you are careless with spending money, and life choices. So anyways, he'll be here Friday afternoon. He can not stay here and just go back to the way he acted before, we can't live like that.

Melinda - It sounds like STS is going great :D! As for DS.... I hope he has learned a lot from this experience. I don't think you're mean at all - you're paying his way home which is the biggest part. Like you said, he's got some serious thinking to do about what happened and how to not go there again ;). Hopefully when he gets home all will go well and it won't be so hard getting him to turn over a new leaf :).

Hi Everyone,

STS is going better the second time around. I'm on wk 4 of Meso 2. I notice that this meso really does make me feel more bulky. As I remember the last time, meso 3 I felt the puffiness went down.

All is going ok with DS so far. It's going to take time to see if the changes are permanent or not. We're just taking it day by day.

Melinda - I'm glad things are good so far with DS :)! Seems to me that Meso 2 should make you feel bulky so it sounds like things are going great!

Hi babes! Melinda, I was thinking that this whole move to CA was going to be a good experience for DS and the fact that things didn't go as he planned may have taught him that it's up to him to make his life a success. I'm glad things are going well since he's been back and I don't think you were mean at all by not giving him money. Tough love is a GOOD thing! :)

I'm glad STS is going so well for you too! You know, I never notice any difference in bulkiness or leaness with me. I just seem to stay the same! My body type has a hard time putting on muscle and what little I have just isn't budging! (But at least it's not going away either!) :p

I can say I have gotten stronger though, yippee! I've been increasing the weight on my other workouts and have surprised myself a few times at the weight I can use. Thank you Cathe!

Lita, the July rotation has a big emphasis on leg work, no fun for either of us! I didn't grab S&H this week after all. Maybe next week. We'll see how I feel then.

Have a great week babes!

Good for you, Tracy :D! I hate to say that while I can lift heavier, I don't always take the time to add on the wrist weights .

No wonder it didn't work for me  ;)....

OK, I'm on week 4 of Meso 2. Just finished chest/shoulders/triceps. Wed will be a long work day so no exercise for me.

Thanks for the input about DS. It seems something has clicked inside of him, of course I'm still taking it one day at a time. The CA trip was good for him. I got an email from the man who picked him up off the road after he crashed his scooter. He said that he had seen a bear just down the road, so he was glad to get DS. Apparently DS was on some road out in the forrest. God certainly has watched over that boy.

Good evening!

Haven't been working out much myself, too darn hot. I'm just not a very good exerciser in the heat. I'd rather take a nap, that's for sure.

Going camping Thurs-Sun, while DH plays in the golf tournament. It is the same one we always go on, but this time we are taking our own tent, etc. Taking my bike with me too this time, so I can walk, jog and bike, if I want. It hopefully will be a little cooler, so I will want to put forth some effort in getting some physical exercise.

Well, have a great rest of the day, I'm off to the sewing room again.:D

Melinda - Hopefully DS realizes just how fortunate he's been! Thank God for the kindess of strangers! Are you going to take a break before going into Meso 3?

Rhea - I don't blame you for not going gung-ho in the heat! I think you're much better off sewing ;). Have a great - and cool - trip :D!

Hi babes! I think it's a great idea to take things one day at a time with DS Melinda, I try to do that with everything, makes my life less stressful. :) I'm also curious if you are going to take a break after meso 2!

Rhea, I am with you on the heat and not working out! It was bad here yesterday so I did an easy cardio. I told DH that I have seasonal workouts. :D What are you sewing? Enjoy your camping trip! I am hanging around at home this weekend 'cause DH threw his back out last weekend. :(

Well Lita, I don't always add the wrist weights either and grab higher weights instead. I have gone too high in weight and then give myself DOMS! Overdid it on the leg work in Muscle Max today, I won't be doing that again! :p

I may get a workout in Friday but we have a heatwave coming so I may just take a nap instead.

Later babes!

I just did MM Sunday :D! I do occasionally go with the heavier wt & then drop down but sometimes that just makes me pull things . I was thinking this week that my form is MUCH better when I go with the ligther weights . And I hate to tell you how much DOMS I can get on the lower body with no weight at all !

Sounds like a great plan!

Hi everyone,

Thur: Meso 2 week 4 legs. Only one workout left in this meso, then I will take a break because I'll be headed off to Rhode Island for work for the week. That was good timing, and I didn't even plan it. The hotel has basic cardio equipment, so I'll probably do that. I will probably bring a couple dvds that I can play on the computer just for stretch or yoga. Don't know if I'll go right back to Meso 3 or give it another week. We'll see.

Yea, someone from work said it was 110 in Boise! Is it that hot in CA and WA as well? Ohio has been so lucky for weather this summer. We've had the windows open most of the time. Been a few days that got a little warm, but so far we only had the a/c on 2 days this summer! I love the fresh air and open windows!

Morning, Melinda :)! Yes, I did even though I hate cardio and can't do high impact . I figure it will still be good for something, ya know ;)? Have a safe trip to RI!!! Are you going to be able to come visit us while you're there?

Fri: Did HIS cardio + BM2 abs and stretch. Why or why have I been skipping my stretching when I know it's so good for me??? My back let me know it last week, so now I'm taking the time to stretch again.

Lita, I'll try to get online in the evening at the hotel.

That would be great, Melinda :)! But if you don't, I hope you have a great trip even if it is for business!

Camping was fun, but I'm glad to be home.

Did Dance Fit today. Today was a back to the workouts or else Rhea!!!! So I threw in the long cardio/interval and just did it.....of course the fan was blasting away. Now I've got to clean up this back room....yuck..oh and get ready for a garage sale this Saturday. Oh joy.

Have a great rest of the evening everyone!

Hi All,

Well,.... I'm not aloud to work out till I'm able to get my weight up. I've lost 20 pounds since May...ish. I just went in for some tests this morning. I'll have results in 10 days. I also have to see another doctor about my stomach. I can't eat without having stomach cramps that double me over. Thats why I haven't be able to eat much. I've lost so much muscle. My doctor pretty much told me the stress is eating me away. I'm kind of scared.
My rotator cuff is really messed up. I'm seeing my chiro about that.
It got really dramatic at my old place with those roomates. Patrick moved me out in just a few hours. He didn't let me do anything. He didn't want me around them to stress me out.

I have to create a stress management reduciton plan.

I went to the river this weekend. I got compliments on looking great in the bikinii. I just don't feel buff anymore. I look alright just don't look fit like I like to look. The swimming was a bit much on my shoulder. I just to keep it light but the water was so much fun. Everything was so green and gorgeous out. Patrick took me on a motorcycle ride on Sunday and he fished while I swam. It was a great weekend. I love Montana.

Hey there Reese, I sure hope those stomach problems are just stress related and will go away soon. Good for Patrick! Is it better where you are now?

Well, I rolled out of bed this morning and did a Yoga Booty Ballet. I think I can handle those workouts in the morning! Have a massage later this evening. Yippee.

So how is everyone else in this heat?

Hi babes! Rhea, I'm doing OK in this heat but it certainly isn't ideal to be 95 degrees outside, up to maybe 100 tomorrow. YIKES! I hope I don't get cranky! I didn't sleep worth a darn last night but hope tonight will be better! How are you doing in this heat? It wasn't this hot when you camped, was it?

110 to 115 degrees in Boise is normal for them when we are in the 90s here. The last time we had a hot summer was in 2006 so we were due! We will be getting a/c in our new house, whenever it gets built!

Hope you get to enjoy RI and not just have to work Melinda! And yes, I preordered Shock Cardio. I preorder just about everything Cathe makes because I am a Cathe vidiot!

Lita, I can imagine the DOMS you are getting now from lower body workouts, you've been restricted for so long!!

Reece, I am glad you are out of your stressful home! Patrick sounds like a sweetie and I am happy that he takes good care of you. A stress reduction plan sounds like a good idea and I too hope your stomach issues are due to stress only and not something else. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you! I'm glad you love Montana, I adore where I live too with the great outdoors that we have. Now, if only DH would buy a motorcycle I can ride on the back of....

Doing the Slow and Heavy series this week which is perfect for this weather. I'm sweating more now typing with this laptop in my lap than I did in my workout today! :p
