Low Carbers & Friends - December 2010

Melinda - I hope you can get a lot of rest until you're completely better!

Tracy - You've never let me down - and I know you won't now, either!

So far my week has been:
Sunday - Intensity Hiit, GS chest, part of CM 3
Monday - LIC cardio, GS biceps
Tuesday - GS legs (M&M), GS shoulders, part of CM 1
As I see it now, the rest of the week will be:
Thursday - cardio, GS back
Friday - cardio, GS triceps

Lita, looks like you have a good schedule. I did get some good sleep last night.

Tonight is my final for my class. Yea! I think it will be ok. then after tonight, I have to keep studying for the nurse entrance exam that is coming up soon!

Good luck with your final, Melinda :D! I know you'll do a stellar job ! I know you'll do well with the entrance exam, too!!!

Got a 96% on the final and an A in the class! Now I have a month off until the next class.

I have a cold, but am keeping it under control. I am trying to go to bed in the evening as soon as I start to feel really warn down. I believe that is the best way to get better, REST!

Yesterday I did pilates. Today floor work for legs from B&G. No ab work other than 12 pikes on the ball, then a stretch. That was good enough.

Whoo HOO Melinda! Great job on that test. Now get rid of that darn cold!

Hope everyone else is doing great! I've been just swamped with stuff, so not much 'puter time.

Way to go, Melinda :D :D :D!!!!!!!!!! Now I hope you can get well since you have a break from the school pressure for a short while!

Rhea - Glad you could pop in!!! Wish you weren't so swamped :(.... Hopefully soon you can come out and play!

Hi babes! Congratulations on your excellent grade Melinda!! Enjoy your time off!

Rhea, I hope that being swamped bizness gets over soon! This time of year should be quiet I say! But I know justice waits for no one. :D

Lita, you are so creative in your workouts! I just do what the dvd says. :p

Continuing the STS rotation, not sure if I will complete the whole thing, I'm so fickle! Hoping to get some holiday stuff done this weekend, I'm really behind on it.

Have a great weekend!

Tracy - I'm too easily bored to do that . And too anal about repeating the same timing/exercises, etc . Gotta march to my own drum, ya know :p. I hope you get the holiday stuff done - there is such a sense of relief when you can finally kick back and start enjoying the season, IMHO :D.

Okay, finally finished this week up. Man did the week seemed endless ! I think I'm going to do a tad bit less next week. I am achy and constantly starving so I'm telling myself I need to go a bit easier ;). I did get in quite a bit of walking this week on top of the cardio I was already doing and I hadn't planned on all the walking I got in when I made my rotation . Nor did I plan on spending my "rest" day last week putting in a good 14 hours of work between decorating and house work .....

Ah the holidays, nothing like 'em :p ;)!

You all look like you are doing more than us as far as holiday tasks. We don't have anything up. This kitten is so full of energy and I just didn't feel like constantly getting her out of the tree, so it's not up yet. We also haven't done any shopping. We did get the kids gift certificates to Best Buy and Snuggies. I'll pick up a couple more little items. For myself, my vacuum is about dead, so I'd really like to get a Dyson. That's going to be it, which is fine with me :)

I've been doing more pilates/yoga this week, which keeps me moving but not as much intensity. Everyday I feel different. Keeping the cold under control, but definitly not myself.

No idea what I'll do today. We have a Christmas party tonight. We'll go for a little while.

Melinda - Believe me, when I had "little ones" I wasn't done so soon, either ;). The only reason I'm decorated is because I got an extra day off the week of Thanksgiving which let me get ahead on some things so I could decorate the next weekend - even though I was still busier than I wanted to be those days. Otherwise, I would be no where near ready . As for shopping - I don't give gifts so that makes it pretty darned easy :D! Well, I buy my roommate a few things and get my boss a bottle of wine, but that's it as far as the holidays go .

The vacuum sounds like it would be a great present! I had a Christmas where I was in your shoes - and that vacuum was the greatest gift. How pathetic, huh  :p?

I think taking it easier is just what you need until you're completely well! Who wants to be sick for the holiday, anyway :(?

Lita, I have a "want" list, not really needs, but things I want to get when DH gets a job again. Can't help it, 2 years of not buying and I want to spend, spend, spend!!! OK, I'm pretty conservative, but a new bed, vacuume, van and some other things would be nice.

Sat: Meso 2 week 1 legs (wanted a good leg workout)
Sun: 20 min stationary bike and 30 min pilates

We have some bad weather here now. Wondering if schools will be closed tomorrow. If they are, it would be nice if we'd know tonight.

church meeting got cancelled, so now we can watch the finale of the amazing race!

Melinda - Nothing like lack of funds to want to inspire us to be able to get something . I hope DH can soon find some work - that's such a tough spot to be in :(! I saw you were getting some pretty bad weather according to the Weather Channel - hope it heads east soon!

DH went for the interview and said it went well, but they won't decide until January.

I passed the nursing entrance exam with a 93.3% !!!

Congratulations, Melinda :D :D :D!!!!!!

And my fingers are crossed for DH - that would be a GREAT way to start the new year !

Hi babes!

AWESOME job on your entrance exam Melinda--yippee!! I too hope something comes throough for DH soon--I understand your wish to spend! :D It's always been a favorite thing for me to do.

I'm buying for a few people but I try to keep it low in the expenditure department. Especially this year 'cause we're getting a puppy! And puppies and all of their accessories cost money! Last week was a bit of a whirlwind--we met a second breeder and found a puppy we'll be bringing home on the 19th. :) I am nervous but very excited! He is a boy, born on Sept. 30. DH and I went round and round on names--he came up with names like Tiberious, Spartacus and Khan whereas I wanted Satchel or Ronan. He fit none of those. We settled on Basil. I will send photos soon, just haven't had time yet.

Melinda, what is your kitten's name? We are not going to put up a tree this year--don't want to tempt the little one!

Did a new stair climb today with the meetup group. It's indoors at the hospital. It's the tallest building in the area at 13 flights, hee hee! We shared the stairwell with emergency personnel at one point when a code blue was broadcast. Anyhoo, it was quite the cardio and leg workout and it was done in 20 minutes. Awesome.

Melinda, I hope your weather is getting better--I saw how bad it has been on the news!

Lita, I admire that you walk regardless of your frigid temps!

Talk to you soon!

Tracy - Congratulations on getting your puppy selected :D!!!!!! Not sure how you got Basil out of the names you were picking from :p! Looking forward to the photos !

Rhea - Are you out there ??????????????

I'm here, just buried until today!! At least there is no more formal court until after the first of the year. So now I have some time to catch up. huff, huff, huff.

Tracy - a new puppy? From the name it sounds like a beagle type dog? How fun. I love puppies, they are so much fun, well, most of the time.

Melinda - congrats on the exam! whoo hoo!

Lita - I have not been able to get on to post lately. Been able to read, just not a lot of time to post. I have not even kept up with logging on with my BFFM stuff. I've been good with the workouts though.

Finished up Meso Cylce one this morning. I already feel it in my gluts, which means I won't be able to stand/sit very well tomorrow. Geesh.

Talk to you later.

Rhea - So glad to finally see you :D!!!!!!! Hopefully you can hang out a bit more now that things have slowed down :). I really miss you when you're not here :(. I am glad you're still rockin' on the BFFM !

Let's see - this week's workouts will end up being:
Sunday - GS legs (M&M); GS shoulders
Monday - CK
Tuesday - GS back, GS triceps, most of CM2
Wednesday - Super Cardio Mix (I think it'll be a while before I do that again ....)
Thursday - GS chest, GS back and ab work of some kind.

Plus at least one walk every day :).

I had a whole thing written out and got kicked off the internet!!!

ok, the short version. I am in RI and it's about 20 degrees here. It was 8 degrees in Ohio this a.m.

Tracy, we have 3 cats. 1st is Kitty, he was a stray that came to us 8 1.2 years ago. 2nd is Gracie, I got her at the shelter. She is gray with medium length hair. Her original name was Darla. Yuck! The kitten's name is Mary. DH was calling her little Gracie, but that was too confusing, so I named her Mary which everyone is finally used to. I am not original in naming at all. Our hamsters we used to have were all called Hammy and the guinea pig was GP. We have a hard time getting past calling the animals what they actually are, ie Kitty, Hammy, GP. Oh, well! I definitely know Basil is not a herb! ;)

Will be home Friday. Going to hop into bed and get warm and watch some tv.

Hi babes! That is so frustrating to create a post, just to be kicked off the internet! Grrr.

The coldest we've gotten here is 10 degrees. And that's pretty rare. We stay above freezing for the most part in the winter. The rain itself keeps us cold though, brrr!

Melinda, I didn't know you had 3 cats! Hope your trip home went well and you can relax this week! And you are too funny--I informed someone this week in a snooty tone (I was joking though) that Basil is not an herb! :D

I'm glad you're finally getting a break Rhea! Aweome job keeping up the workouts despite your crazy work schedule!

The pup we're getting is a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. DH and I were both trying to find a name for him and I even asked for suggestions at work on the whiteboard in the kitchen. We did get some suggestions but none of them were Basil. DH liked the name Hayden but I didn't want to call for him like, "Hey Hay!" I knew Hayden came from Basil Hayden bourbon and suggested Basil. It fit the little guy. I wrote on the whiteboard at work that we named him Basil. The other day, some smart aleck crossed it out and wrote Terragon. Too funny!

I'm hoping I'll get to workout before 8 p.m. with all of the attention Basil is going to need! I will be winging things for awhile. I have a photo of him I will send to all of you too.

Lita, did you survive Super Cardio Mix? Is that by Cathe or the Firm? I have one by that name by the Firm. And it's tough!! :) Are you going to take it easy a little for the holiday week?

I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas if I don't get back here again before then. Love to you all!
