Long Beach, CA

I'm going to be in Long Beach on business for about three days and nights in May. Can anyone give me ideas of things to do? I won't have access to a car, so taxis, public transportation, and walking will be my modes of getting around.

I've read that the East 4th Street area is kinda cool for funky shops and to get away from chain restaurants. Any suggestions on restaurants, music, museums, non-touristy things/plasces to see.

Thanks!

Hello,
I worked in the Long Beach Area and there is a lot to do there. Pine street has a lot of restaurants and they have a new shopping center with an adult arcade, shops, etc. The Queen Mary is also there. On Friday there is a farmer's market in the downtown area with great food and shopping.

You can take the Blue line into LA, Universal Studios (exit Universal), and Hollywood (go to the famous Kodak Theatre were the academy awards are held and see the walk of fame). I hope this helps. Have a good time.

Thanks!

I did a little research and I think I'll be going to the 4th Street area where there are lots of vintage stores and funky bars and restaurants. Are you familiar with that area at all?
