Today I did PP 2x premix. It included some ab work, so I skipped PH abs, plus did ME abs yesterday. I did PP2x b/c I didn't have enough time for 3x. Hope to stretch later.

Good Morning

Today was CTX upper and PH abs. A great workout, I may have to do it again next week. Don't know why I like it so much, we do so many reps (almost 100 for back rows) but I do!!:eek: I was able to up some weight, but not to much, it is endurance, and I really want to work on my form and "squeezeing the muscle" as I work it.

I had a great weekend with the in-laws visiting and the kids and DH being off this weekend! I never know if its going to be a good visit or not with the inlaws :p

Gin ~ Are you off today? We are working, but I am sneaking out for 1/2 an hour to see DS8 at school. Its parent visitation day today. What cardio did you end up doing today?

Marcy ~ I hope you had a fun weekend. Whats on the schedule for today?

I have the day off and am soooo happy!:D
Just finished my 3 mile run and then 4ds KB/BC...whew!:p I decided to add the extra cardio since I had the time. The rest of the day will be CleanMax, then b-day lunch with a friend and then going to Dallas to a new neurologist.
I talked to an old HS friend last night that I had not talked to in ages and I think I may have decided to go to my 30th reunion next weekend. YIKES!

Deanie~Glad you enjoyed CTX today and your inlaws visit. How was DH's softball game yesterday? Is parent visitation the same as a conference? In 2 weeks we have parent conferences and I have the day off since the lead K teacher does them and not me...yeah!

Marcy~Hope you had a great weekend. What workout did you do today?

today is the first day in a long time we have no where to go after school!!!! Yippeee!!

Gin~ I hope you had a fun lunch and you have a good visit with the dr. It would be nice to get to the root of your headaches already!:eek: 30 year reunion- wow!! Do you keep in touch with anyone from H.S.? I don't. This year was my 25th reunion, but I didn't go. Could be fun if you keep in touch with people. Dh's game yesterday was fun, and he hhit a homerun to win the game yesterday:):D:)!! Parent visit day is just to observe the kids in class. It was okay, the classes are so huge and there is only one teacher I feel bad for her. She is a very good teacher, so atleast that's good.

Marcy ~ Where are you chicka??? Hope all is good and you had a fun weekend:)

Suprised that Deanie is not on before me!! Where are you girl?
I did PP lower body 2x (just couldn't do 3x!!:eek:), PH abs and SM#2. 3x of those low pulse lunges and one legged squats would have done me in! She didn't repeat the calf raises and the tibialas anterior exercise with the ball at the end.
The dr. wants me to have an MRI and EEG and told me to stop taking one of my headache meds b/c it can cause heart problems. How come I had NEVER heard that before??

Deanie~No, I haven't kept up with anyone from high school, but am going anyway. It's funny b/c I am really a shy person, so this is unlike me to go by myself.
How large is your ds8's class?
What cardio did you do today?

Marcy~I watched most of DWTS last night (between 3 phone calls!) and really lilked Brooke the best. In my next life, I would like to be able to dance like her and have a body like hers would be good too!!:D

I was so busy yesterday, I came home with a headache. Today's a little better. Have lots to catch up on so here goes:

Fri night - 1 pull, 1 chin
Saturday - 3 chins; rumba lesson and dance - did tango, foxtrot, two step, east coast swing, cha cha.
Sunday - 1 pullup, 1 set of 2 chins; 1 set of 3 chins

Monday - S&H Chest & Back
Bench Press - Set 1 - 25.4# - 8 reps; set 2 - 25.4# - 7 reps (3 more than last week); set 3 - 23.4# - 5 reps
Chest Flies - all at 18.6# Set 1 - 8 reps; set 2 - 6 reps; set 3 - 7 reps (2 more than last week)
Incline Bench Press - all at 18.6#; Set 1 - 6 reps; set 2 - 7 reps (1 more than last week); set 3 - 6 reps (1 less)
Incline Chest Fly - Set 1 - 4 reps @ 18.6# (2 less than last week); 4 at 15.4#
Set 2 - 15.4# - 7 reps (1 less than last week); Set 3 - 13.4# - 6 reps (down 2#)
Had to skip pushups - no time and hurting too much
Dbbl Rows - All 3 sets at 20.6# - 8 reps (set 1 5.2# more than last week)
Dbbl Pullovers - All sets and reps at 26# (set 1 - 2.2# more than last week)
Dbbl Deadlifts - All sets and reps at 23.4#

No time for supermans either. Did plank work though.

Picked up a few finds at the thrift store on Sun - Slim & Limber (15 min. stretch workout by Debbie Siebers - Slim in 6); Winsor Pilates Accelerated Body Sculpting and Step Fusion with David Gray.

I would up doing Step Fusion today which was a 45 mins. basic step workout with some dance moves in it. Pretty much a beginner workout but since I wasn't too peppy this morning and my brain couldn't work too hard, it was perfect. But sadly it's going onto the trade pile.

I have major DOMS again from yesterday's workout and pretty much ache all over. I just realized this is almost the exact same workout for chest that's in GS with the exception of the drop sets of pushups versus slow pushups and I think the angle of the moves is a little different.

Deanie - I forgot my P90X sheets but I think I have them in my e-mail which I have to search through but I will get them to you.

Gin - Brooke and Lance were my favorites last night with Brooke at the top. I thought Susan did much better this week and even Cloris did better. I was on the phone with my mom so I had to rush through a lot of it. I'll watch it again another time. I think Brooke is going to be the winner. I don't think she's had a bad week yet. (And I would love to have a body like hers too! - although if I had my choice, I'd like either Julieann's or Kym's body!)

Hope you have fun at your reunion! I hope the dr. figures out the cause of your headaches. It's weird with all the doctors you've been too that they never mentioned the side effects of your medication.

Tonight is dancing again - Nightclub 2. They're actually going to be doing West Coast Swing on DWTS. I can't wait. I only hope they don't mess it up like they did with Country Two-Step on SYTYCD last season.

Good Afternoon

Wow I can't believe I am the last to post today!!LOL:) I slept in, since I am off, ate an apple and pb with DS12 got him off to school, got DS8 off to school and then worked out. I should NOT have eaten so much before the cardio I did today!!! I did CF, the whole thing. After the second blast from BM2 though, I thought I wasn't going to make it. I felt nauseous. I actually paused the dvd for a minute or so (which I never do) I finished the blasts, did DM drills (but did drill 5 with baby hops, not my normal full out) and really cursed at Cathe for including the squat thrusts and jumps on the step at the end of the workout. :p ;)By the time I got to drill 6, I actually felt better. Weird, but I think I ate to much PB to close to the workout. (I ate 4 TBSP-- can't seem to control myself with the PB!!:eek:)

Gin~ Didn't you love the PP premix!!!?? I hope you have a great time at your reunion. Are you not going with DH? Wow, I agree with Marcy, I'm surprised the other dr.'s you've seen haven't mentioned the side effects of the meds. Hopefully all this stuff you need to do will help... Please keep us posted. I hope you have an open MRI though..:eek:My DS8's class is 29 kids!!! He has had 18 kids with 3 teachers since Kinder., but this year "they" cut funding, and we lost a 3rd grade teacher. Its horrible. I was in the school today for the book fair, and asked the teacher if she wants help next week (I'm off again on tues and wed. next week also) and she said she'd love help next tues. So I am going in. For math and reading, they do have a "floater" teacher who teaches those subjects, so the classes are smaller. She also floats in the second grade which is in the same predicament (sp?). so for science and soc. studies, and all the "arts" the class is really large. HOpe that all made sense!!:confused:

Marcy ~ WOW what a workout!! don't you just love S&H!!?? Great job with the chins, you are really rockin' with them:cool: I haven't done any lately, my shoulder is still not 100%. Your dance class sounds fun. Is DH coming to any with you? I heard a lot of good things about the Windsor Pilates. How is DS doing?

Deanie - Yes, I think it's time for a new STS clip. I really want to see the ab clips and the plyo legs clips. You definitely dont' want to make me do Cardio Fusion anytime soon! I'm really enjoying more low impact cardio these days. I think it does better for me at keeping the fat off.

I think I love S&H except for the chest work. I don't think I'll ever like chest work. Ironically, I didn't mind all the pushups in the X. I had planned on doing the X for the next 2 weeks but then was thinking about 1 more week of S&H and then a recovery week. I guess I'll have to see how I feel.

I gave my dance teacher two of my DVDs - Squeeze and Pure Barre. She was saying how the students in her classes are so inflexible and weak. I suggested that maybe they do Pilates and she said they usually don't have the time with all of the dance curriculum they have to cover. She also said she doesn't lift weights either. She is really thin but she still has a great looking bicep. Don't you hate it when you work so hard and can't get the look you want and others don't do anything and just have it naturally?:mad:

Sadly DH is still not coming with me to my classes. Besides it not being his thing to begin with, he's so tired to go out at night. Even though he's not working, he's still been getting up at his usual schedule of 4am.

We got a call from DS on Sunday. He asked us to mail him a plane ticket but then after talking with him, he said he'd have to think about it. GA is about the worst place right now to find a job and it would be very hard for him to get around without a car. He hasn't learned to drive yet. He hasn't needed to up till now. NY has so much public transportation, there was really no need. I didn't even learn until I was 25! He's still going through a rough patch and has a bit of growing up to do. I would love him to come down because I miss him but we'll just have to wait and see.

Classes in NY were always large so 29 doesn't sound like a huge number to me. Do you have a reduced schedule this year?

I guess I was a little chatty too. I'll be going now.

Marcy ~ I thought you were following the Oct. rotation Cathe posted. I didn't know you were doing your own. I read somewhere that to see results from a rotation you should do it for 3-4 weeks. So I would stick with S&H for one more week if I were you.:eek: I absolutely!!! hate it that I have to work so hard for the look I want and others (like your dance teacher) come by it naturally. So unfair!!:mad:

Sorry your DS is not happy. I know the job market out there is bad. One of the good things about living right out side of DC, is we have a little security bubble. Things don't hit us as hard/soon as else where; since there are so many gov't employees in the area, and of course those jobs are safe. I hope he finds something soon. Probably better to be in NY area for that reason.

I don't have a reduced schedule, but I am loving being off 2 days a week!;) this week is Sukkot (a harvest type holiday) and next week is Simchat Torah (when the Torah has been read to the end, and we start over again). That's why I'm off!!:) Its nice to be off when the kids are in school. I got alot done today, and got to relax a little!! After my eating debackle (sp?) this morning though, I am getting up early tomorrow to workout.

I miss chatting with you, this was nice!!:) Off to have an omlete with feta cheese. Cheese is my new protein source, I'm trying all kinds of cheese lately!

Deanie - I thought we were all planning to do Cathe's Oct. rotation in November. I'll give your suggestion some thought but then again, if we are doing Oct. rotation, it also has 2 weeks of S&H in it. Too much thinking to do!

Did you guys see Cathe used 50# for 1 arm rows in rehearsals in STS but said she had to go down because it was too much? I was up to 35# in P90X so maybe by the end I might be close to Cathe. Wishful thinking!

Marcy ~ I am planning on doing Cathe's Oct. rotation next month. I thought since you were doing S&H this month you were doing it. I wouldn't want to do too much s&h either.:confused:

I did see the 50# arm rows comment. don't know if I'll ever get there, but I'd like to try!!:D

Today is LL and PH abs. I am not going to raise my weights today, yesterday with all the jumping I did something to my knee. It was bothering me till the afternoon yesterday. I don't want to aggravate it today. I added spell check today!!:) So I guess I spelled aggravate correctly! LOL (I am such a bad speller!)

Gin ~ What's the cardio today? I am thinking of doing CTX and LL one more week!!:eek: I am really enjoying them. Did you get The Pyramids yet?

Today was CF All Step and Classical Stretch.
Yesterday I was talking to some of the other teachers and 2 of them said they never want to lift weights, that it is not good for you. Too stressful for your joints and when you quit lifting, you will gain weight....WHAT!?!? Sometimes it is better to just leave it alone and not try to convince people otherwise.

Deanie~Sorry about your knee. Hope it feels better soon!! I received Pyramids about 3 days after I ordered it. The first time the order didn't go through for some reason. I plan on using it next week.
I had a headache yesterday and no pain med now...:( I am scheduled for an MRI (closed) tomorrow after school. Already getting anxious about it.
DH is not going with me to my HS reunion. He has a family reunion same day.
Do you have another day off today?
You are sweet to offer to help ds's teacher. I'm sure she will appreciate it.

Marcy~I also know people that don't exercise or not very much and look great. Not fair! But, then we know it's not just for the way we look, but for our health, right??:)
Glad you are enjoying dance. Sorry you DH doesn't want to join you, but glad he doesn't mind that you go alone.
Hope things work out for your DS. I can't imagine not needing to drive, but I've never lived in NY.

Gin ~ actually, I think its true about when you stop lifting you will gain weight. ...Unless you cut back on your calories... My brother and I were discussing this last night. That is the reason he doesn't want to lift weights. he is starting the X today and that has some weights in it, hope its not too much for him. He has been doing "turbulence training" which is body weight exercises and he's been getting good results and liking it. I'm thinking of trying it in Dec.... thinking being the operative word!!! I'm not sure I want to go a month without lifting weights!!!!:eek: I do wonder what will happen to my metabolism if I stop the weight lifting.....

Good Afternoon!

Today was S&H Shoulders, All About Legs - Medicine Ball and Slim & Limber stretch.

S&H:

Front Raise: Set 1 - 5#, 2-8# (3# more), 3-8#
Side Lat Raise - All 3 sets - 8# (elbow was hurting on set 1 - I think my form was a little off but I corrected it for sets 2 and 3 and it felt better)
Posterior Delt Raise - All 3 sets at 8# (Set 2 - 4 more reps at 8#)
Seated Overhead Press (glad she only does 2 sets of these!)
Set 1 - 15#; Set 2 - 13# (did 1 more rep this time at 13#; had to drop to 10# for my last rep last week)
Side Lying External Rotations - 5# both sets

All About Legs was good and has a little bit of cardio in it and some balance moves and one-leg deadlifts and a move similar to one in Legs & Back from P90X where he does the kicks front, side & back but she does it with a knee raise.

Slim & Limber was a 15-min. stretch with Debbie Siebers. This is from the Beachbody Slim in 6 program. Okay, not any new stretches. It also has the countdown timer like in the X. I actually want to get the Slim Series which is supposed to be more advanced and lots of people at VF rave about it. I got Cool it Off which is a 60-min. stretch workout and part of the Slim Series. Got it for only $3. I hope it's better than Slim & Limber.

I also heard Tracy Effinger is coming out with Squeeze Stronger (80 mins.) and Squeeze Lower Body Challenge (30 mins.) which I'm really looking forward to.

Deanie - I hope your knee gets better soon. How's your shoulder doing? My DH lifted heavy weights for years. He concentrated more on his arms and he still does have big arms (I think around 18") but definitely didn't cut back on his eating and he has the belly to prove it! He's glad and proud of me that I lift weights but just doesn't like all the time my workouts take. He's always telling people that I lift weights.

Gin - Back when I started lifting, I told my mother and she said to make sure I don't get too big. I tried to tell her I'd never get big unless I took steroids. Not that she does any exercise, period. I hope the MRI will help you solve your headache problems. You never had one before this? Did you see DWTS? I know the results but in case you didn't see it, I won't spoil it for you.

Today was ME.....good workout. Tomorrow run and then I think I will do PUB Sat morn. before I leave for Houston to go to my HS reunion. It is tough to fit all the workouts in. Just call me obsessive-compulsive!!:eek:
I have my MRI this aft. Hope I don't stress too much about it!

Deanie~How is your knee? What is the "X" that your brother is doing? And tell me what you know about exercises using only our body weight. Is it back to work today for you?

Marcy~That is sweet that your DH is proud of you for lifting weights. I have had an MRI before (2 years ago), but for some reason this dr wanted me to have another.
I did see SWTS results. Cloris will probably be the next to go although she is amazing for her age!!

Today was 4DS KB/BC cardio only. A great workout, I really love the cardio from these workouts!!!

Gin ~ Good luck with the MRI today!! Sending good - finally figure out what's going on- vibes your way. good job with ME :) I don't think you are workout obsessed, I am the same way ;)!! My knee is better today, I wore new sneakers. I think I've been wearing the old ones for almost a year, so it was time for a change. I needed the padding/cushion I think. My brother is doing P90X, I gave him all my dvds, and he just won Kenpo on ebay. Enjoy the reunion!!! It should be fun seeing all the "kids" you knew in HS!! Do you look the same??? Were you blond in HS??

Marcy ~ Isn't it nice when DH brags about your lifting??:p;) My DH tells people I lift too, and that I can out lift him!! LOL (I don't' think I can but its nice he thinks it) Great workout yesterday. What did you decide? continue with S&H or stop? For some reason I thought you already had the slim series.... I've also heard good things about it..
