Hi everyone. My name is Julie and I'm new to Cathe.com. I am a 32-year-old mother of two beautiful little girls, 3-1/2 yrs and 20 mos. I bought a step a couple of years ago which included Cathe's AllStep video, but as soon as I started to learn it, I got pregnant and put it on hold. I have been using the Allstep video pretty regularly for the last year but I think it's time to start getting serious about fitness and get myself into shape. I was wondering which Cathe videos are best to get started on. Thanks for your help. :)

Hi Julie. Welcome to the forums! Allstep was my first Cathe video too. If you are looking for step only workouts, i would say to get either Lowmax or the DVD with Imax2 on it. (it also has a cicuit workout called Cardio and Weights) Those are the most fun step workouts in my opinion. They are both interval workouts (so there is a step routine and then a blast, then a different step routine, then blast and so on. Watch the previews if you can. Have fun choosing:D

Hi Julie. I'm new to Cathe.com too. I have been doing her workouts for a while, but also needed some help on what I should be doing and when.
I am a 35-year-old mother of two beautiful little boys, 7 and almost 6 years old. I've always worked out, but I am sick of going up and down with my weight and want to get healthy and fit.
From what I've been reading we're in the right place. Everyone seems really nice and have been great with advice.
It's so nice to have somewhere to come at any time and get some support, some ideas or just a laugh.

Hi Julie...http://bestsmileys.com/signs13/24.gif[/img]..My advice would be to start with some of her beginning workouts. Not sure if you use a DVD player but there is the Classics Vol 1 that has 3 workouts. Step Jam, Step Heat and Step Max. I think they might be good to start with as far as step....:)...Carole

I gave my friend a Basic Step Fusion & she loved it. She said it was totally doable for her.

I agree with what the others have said about step. Beginners Basic step and Body Fusion are good as well as the Classics Vol 1. If you are also interested in other types of cardio and are interested in incorporating strength training into your fitness program, I would recommend the CTX series which are a set of workouts, one for each day of the week (if you include a rest day). These workouts are an hour or less, not as intense as her other workouts and have varied cardio (step, kickbox, hi-lo and mixes of these). In addition, you will work out each body part, 1x/week if you follow the program. Timesaver is also good for beginners because the workouts are short and less intense. A good circuit for beginners in High Step Circuit for beg/intermediates.

Hi Julie - welcome to Cathe and the forum! I've been working out with her for about a year. First found her on FITV doing Boot Camp (love it!) and then found this website. Let's just say a lot of money has passed under the bridge since then. I don't know what your fitness level is, but when you are ready you may want to try some of her strength workouts. I love the Pyramids and Muscle Endurance, but they are advanced. I really hated using weights until I tried hers and now I love them. I am stronger and more fit than I've ever been at 40! Keep checking into this forum, too. You will learn so much from all of these experienced exercisers here. Take care!

Hi Julie,

Welcome to the forums! You will not find a bunch of ladies as nice and supportive as this group, let me tell you!
Anything you want to know, just ask. We are all here to help and support each other.

Ditto the above suggestions for you. You ( and your wallet ) will never be the same, but you will be soooo happy with your results!

Julie, welcome! I am 32 also, and have 2 boys, ages 2 and 4. I started watching Cathe on FitTV. I have the Hardcore series and love it. Since you have the step, buy what appeals to you, either cardio or strength, or both. I love High Step Challenge and Muscle Endurance (both require hi-step). I also love Muscle Max, and Low Max. The Pyramids were my favorite for a while. Good luck.

Hi Julie! I have a daughter Julie who is 32! Welcome, you have come to the right place to get in shape. You really cannot go wrong with any Cathe video. If you accomplished AllStep go for any of them. If you need to modify, do so. Just have fun and before long you'll have every workout Cathe has made. Again, WELCOME! We look forward to getting to know you.
