Getting us started ;)

Okay so I'm here up late and drinking my coffee getting myself ready to tackle PP LB x3 along w/ ab work from KPC

Didn't get to bed past midnight watching a movie called The Other Bolen Girl - I really enjoyed it.

I seriously need to get myself up earlier before I start to feel the heat penetrate the house. Even with central ac and ceiling fans its starting to feel hot so I need to get moving and start my workout now lol

Hey Vilma & Everyone,

I took an unplanned rest day today -- was up for 2-1/2 hours in the middle of the night and though I woke up early, I decided it would be better to go back to sleep for a little while. I may take a little walk later, but that's nothing compared to what I had planned. :)

Vilma, I know what you mean about the heat -- when it was hot here, I definitely had to get the workouts in as early as possible. Lucky for us, our fog is back in and it's been pleasant lately.

Oh, The Other Boylen Girl was supposed to be a great book -- I heard multiple people rave about it.

Off in search of some strong tea..... have a great day!

Hey Vilma, Beth!
And all to follow!!!......

I finished today's PP, Lower Body Premix x 3. KILLERRRRRR! My lower body was pretty sore from Low Max yesterday, so this was tough to get through. Mostly all the standing work. The outer & inner thigh ball work wasn't too bad (somehow, doing exercises laying down is much easier to take, even if it burns..LOL). And the calf raises and tibialis work was CAKE after the first section...

I did a little mish mash from Ab Hits for my ab work. I haven't done ANY of ab hits since I bought it, so I figured it was time. I did the Traditional work from CTX section, and then I did Plank work from I'm not sure WHAT workout. I'd never seen it before. It was challenging, and I like doing new stuff....!!

Thanks all, for letting me post my kitties picture yesterday. They are something else. Always doing something crazy. Last night Kiwi was jumping after some imaginary bug in the air. He was freaked OUT! Funny!!

We did go to the movies to see "Get Smart". Can I just say I LOVED this movie??? The reviews were all wrong, it was funny as $#*$, I LOL ALOT! Lots of good sight/physical gags. I can't help it , I like stuff like that...

It was like a modernized old Get Smart. There were some references to the TV show (which I loved!). And I liked Steve Carrell as Max. I didn't get Anne Hathaway as 99 so much. She was very different. Though in some scenes she did seem like the old 99.

I planned on JUST a diet coke, but ended up snagging a few strawberry twizzlers from the boys. So I ate lighter for supper (salad and veggie soup) and in the end, did damn good with my eating!! Yay!

DH is off picking up our new car! I'm excited to get to zoom around in a littler car (Honda Civic) with a SUN ROOF (cool beans!)...*giggles like a girl*

Oooooh, I read "The Other BOylen Girl"... OMG, it was RAUNCHY and GOOD! I've yet to see the movie. But if you read it, you should be prepared to blush a little. LOL!

Sorry you guys didn't get great sleep. A nice long walk sounds perfect, Beth. Get some fresh air, it will make you feel better!..

okay..enough babbling...Will BBL to see who's checked in!

Quick fly by post cause I need to get outta here for the kids yearly eye appointments.

Finished my workout PP LB x3 and at one point I was like 'not again' with the leg presses but actually it wasn't bad at all- yes the floor work was easy peesy after lol

I need to go get that book 'The Other Boylen Girl' after watching the movie last night and looking at the special features. I was hmmmimg to myself that I need to read it. The movie held my interest and since I lived in England in the early 90's I've always been interested in the history of that country :)

I just got through rereading Anne Rice's 3 book series of the Mayflower Chronicles and prior to that 'The Host'. I can not wait until the last installment of The Twilight series "Break of Dawn" hits the stores lol

Ok I really need to get moving.

Have a Great Day all! :7

Chris, so Get Smart was ok for the kids? And I forgot to comment on the kitty pictures -- I love seeing them! Thanks for posting. We have one old cat currently (we call him "the cat who wouldn't die" -- we don't know exactly how old he is, but we think at least 20 and he looks & moves pretty good for that age! My 9 year old informed us that the record for longest living cats is 40, so we figure the cat may outlive us! :) ) Nothing beats kittens!

Vilma, where did you live in England and what took you there (if you don't mind sharing!)?

cheers,

-Beth

Hi all!!

OK, I'm a weirdo, but I'm really excited about the rotation next week. I've never done PP and it'll be all new to me! Yea! I love new workouts. Of course, I've had it for over a year - ya think I might have tried it??

Vilma and Chris, I read the Other Bolen Girl!! Loved it!! And, it's really not the type of book I usually like. I need to see the movie.

Beth, sometimes you just need that sleep more than a workout. A walk will make you feel better.

So it PP Lower Body 3x tougher than GS Legs or Butts and Guts? This is fun...getting previews from you guys before I do the workouts!

Chris, I love seeing pictures of your cats! I love pet pictures. Is it easy to post a picture on here? I should post one of my dog. I'm so glad to hear the Get Smart was so good. We'll have to take the kids soon. Yea for doing so good with your eating!! I can never resist the popcorn. Wow, a new car! Very cool!!

Vilma, I'm taking my boys for their yearly eye appts. this weekend too. What was I thinking, scheduling it for 9:00am Saturday? My middle son, who is 10, has seemed to have morphed into a teenager already. He'd sleep till noon if you let him! Yea, I really enjoyed the historical aspect of the Other Bolen Girl.

OK, on to my workout report. ;) Thanks you guys for encouraging me to do High Step Challenge. I really liked it! And, only two sets of leg presses. That's always a good thing!! Tomorrow is a scheduled rest day - I think I'm going to try Kari Anderson's Reach and maybe a walk.

So far I've lost 5.5 pounds doing this rotation. Happy dance!! I know probably 80% is because I'm eating better, but I'm finally at a place where I don't want to eat the junk because it'll sabotage all the hard work I'm doing! I used to be of the mindset that I can eat what I want because I workout. I knew it wasn't true, but just started bad habits. Hope I can keep this up!

It's an icky rainy day today. I feel bad for my kids at camp since they'll be stuck indoors.

Have a great day all!

Joanne

Hi ladies!!

Checking in today with Kick punch & crunch..

Ok..I am lost what workout is PP..I get confused with the abreviations sometimes..

Chris: glad to hear that the movie was good. It is hard to resist the twizzlers. I try to keep them out of the house because I love them sooooo..Congrats on the new car. We have a honda accord and a honda odyssey. we would love to trade the odyssey for a smaller car with better gas mileage. But, we are so close to paying it off and it is nice to have the minivan when we go on trips..Love the cats!!

Vilma: I was a sweaty mess too this morning. I got my workout done around 9am and it was still hot! I haven't seen that movie or read the book. Is it one worth renting? I will have to look for it!

Beth: I love a nice walk sometimes. I have been getting out first thing in the morning and walking the dog. I enjoy it and so does he..

Joanne: Glad you enjoyed HSC..I have REACh too and I liked that one also. Hope you enjoy it as well. COngrats on your weight loss that is awesome!! I think the same thing. When I am working out, I think ok this will be so worth the sweat and pain if I can eat better. It works sometimes and other times I think to myself oh well I am eating whatever!!

Beth, wow, I knew cats generally lived longer than dogs, but 20 years?? That's great. Is there such a thing as "cat years"? You know, like one dog year = seven human years? Can you tell I'm bored?

Kathy, PP is Push/Pull. It's a weight workout from Cathe's Body Blast series. It comes on a DVD with Supersets. I believe it uses a stability ball.

Thanks Joanne..I have that DVD. My mind wasn't working before. I couldn't think of any workouts that would fit into PP. Now I can!!:)

Hi again..

I actually don't have PP/SS , I was borrowing it. And seeing the premixes, and I also found that it has a "mix" feature, where you can pick the order of all the exercises and make your own workout! I think I want this DVD now! WHO KNEW?? I thought it was just 2 shorter total body workouts!

Beth... My boys are 12, 8 and 6. "Get Smart" was definitely ok for the 12 and 8 year old. There was a few sexual inuendos (comes to mind the part where he is trying to move a guys dead body, and it looks like he's humping him from behind), but that was it. And it went right over their head. There's explosions, shootings (no blood, no gore) and fighting. And the worst they say is "#### and/or crap" a few times. My 6 year old didn't get it so much, but he watched , and snacked. And caught a few of the action scenes. AND Omg.. your cat is OLD! That is amazing. I'd love to see a picture. To add one, I just upload to photobucket, and then add the link that says to use for "forums".

Joanne.... I can't imagine The Other Boleyn Girl movie could even match the book. it was compelling, wasn't it??? You'll enjoy PP, but when it comes to doing the exercises THREE times, ...ugh! But it definitely is a good workout, upper and lower body. You'll like it! I don't think PP Lower body x 3 is HARDER than B&G. B&G's is LONGER , first of all, and more diverse , ... B&G is more ENDURANCE and pushing it to the end. These are shorter workouts, but intense. Holy *#$%, CONGRATS on the loss this month!! THAT is AWESOME!!!!!

So we got our car! At the risk of being obnoxious with pictures, here it is! (LOL~~~ :7)

Chris, AWESOME NEW WHEELS!! :) :) I like the color - it's kind of a dark silver, right? Is that you in it? We bought a used VW Passat last year and it's silver, but much lighter. I never knew there were so many silver cars of the same body type till I had to find it for the first time in a parking lot!!

Your kids are just about the same age as mine, except I have a 10-year-old in there. My 11 and 5 year olds have birthdays in Sept.

Great new car Chris!! Love it. Our van is the same color. Although when we bought it they said the color was a blue something. It definitely isn't any shade of blue I ever saw. Ours may be a little bit darker. But, basically the same..

Congratulations on the new wheels..What kind of car did you have before??

Thanks girls!

That is me, and my cutie pie 6 year old is actually in the passenger seat! He was so cute!...

We have 2 cars, actually. "My" car has been a Dodge Durango (2001). DH's car was a STANDARD Honda Civic (2002). I never drove a standard, so I ended up driving the Durango (aka gas hog) for errands and around town all week. So , we decided, we'd trade in DH's Civic for a NEW Civic, but an automatic one. The one he had was so basic, this one has LOTS of bells and whistles!!

And even though i was thrilled when I first got my big Durango (I felt so tall and above everything on the road), that feeling has worn off, and I'm sick of driving that big boat and trying to park it everywhere. I'm dying to 'zip' around in a little car again!

~Chris

Chris, I've got to remember that your two younger boys are almost the same age as mine -- 9 and 6. Sounds like the younger one will be bored with Get Smart.

Love the new wheels -- very exciting!

I will see if I can find a picture of the cat who won't die. He is amazing. He's older than my niece who is nannying for my boys this summer!

Sounds like people had great workouts today. I'm not feeling guilty at all. I did walk to the bank earlier, but I think it was maybe all of a mile! :) I'm going to hit the legs tomorrow -- I'm going to do cross train leaner legs, which I think I have *never* done!!! and some floor work I pick out.

Joanne, you asked something and now I can't remember what!

-Beth
