Good Morning Ladies!

Just getting us started .

My scheduled WO is a cardio premix of LIS/HIS; I may do it or may not depending on how I can resist a run today :p

Have a Great Day , hoping to check back later on to see who posts ;)

Hi friends, I'm back. I haven't checked any old posts yet, so I don't know what's new with you guys -- I'll try to go back and find at least a day or two to catch up.

My vacation was ok -- it was extremely smokey in Tahoe from all of the fires. Just driving up, middle of the day, I needed no sunglassses because the sun was so blocked by the smoke. I don't know if any of you have ever been to lake Tahoe, but you couldn't even see the mountains around the lake it was so smokey. On top of that, I apparently was working in poison oak when I cut brush on July 4th, and my body reacted with a vengence while we were gone. My arms are swollen like Popeye (and not with muscles!) and my torso is freakishly all red and dotted. Really gross. Went to the dr. yesterday and she put me on prednisone with all sorts of supplemental stuff. I guess it's going to take at least a couple of weeks for it to go away. So, things could have been better. Good stuff -- my BIL took my boys fishing and they all had a blast, we all went river rafting and had a blast, and it was nice to be with my extended family -- playing games, cooking, hanging out.

I am not even sure I can do much working out, but today for the first time in days I just had to, so I did Strike Zone. Felt like a good workout to me.

Hope everyone is well.

Hi Vilma!

I'm thinking no one can keep you from your treadmill TODAY ;) ... though HIS/LIS is a fun workout...what will she do?!?!

Hey Beth!!
Welcome back!! Ohhhh the smoke and poison oak sound horrible!! I remember getting a nasty rash from something and the doc put me on prednisone. Holy CRAP, it made me hyper , I cleaned and cleaned and moved like crazy on that stuff! I bet that's what gave you the oomph to do a workout today! :7

I had another extended play workout today: 4DS Bootcamp & Lower Body Circuit , followed by 4DS calves, and then Coremax #3. I'm really enjoying discovering the 4DS premixes. It's fun to split up the cardios like that. And I'm thinking I'm going to be feeling that CM#3... I'd forgotten it involved all those weights.

Nothing exciting planned for today. Probably heading to the grocery store to re-stock from my boys eating us out of house & home over the weekend!! I hate grocery shopping!! x(

We head out for vacation next week! I can't believe it's almost here already. Time is flyyyying!!!

Hi all! I haven't been around for a few days...weekends are busy and DH left camping with 3 of our 4 kids yesterday so it was a whirlwind of getting them ready to go. Our oldest son is home with me - he's doing this summer program at a college for a week that he really wanted to do. The timing was bad, though. So, me and him will head out Friday for our week at the cottage we rented.

I think Vilma is CCing on her treadmill right now!!

Beth, so sorry about the fires and the poison oak!! Yikes!! Hope the meds help soon.

Chris, I really like those premixes too. It's like a different workout every time.

This weekend I did Amy's Slo Mo upper body stuff. Today was Gym Style Legs. I might just wing it for the three days before we leave with workouts and start the rotation again when we get back.

Have a great day all!

Joanne

You guys are too funny but sure enough I ended up on my TM with a nice 60min CC steady state mish mosh :p I also did some ab work. It was a good solid run nice and easy on my joints.

For some reason its just so much easier for me lately to plug into my ipod and do a good sweaty run. I love getting into that zen like state & my TM is really nice and quiet than having to set up my puzzle mats and turn on the tv plus it tends to wake everyone up.

Enjoy your day ! :7

Hi everyone!!

Checking in today with FIRM Super Cardio Mix and FIRM Core Solutions 2 segments..

Beth: welcome back!! That is too bad about the smoke blocking that view. I have never been there. Sounds lovely!! Sorry about the posion oak incident!! Not fun..Hubby got that when we first moved to VA and he was clearing the yard to put up a fence. He was miserable!!

Vilma: I wish I was more of a runner. I think it would help with some weight loss..

Chris: I was at the grocery store today too. I only need a few things and came out with several bags!!! UGH!!

Joanne: have fun at the cottage. Is the whole family going to the cottage too? Sorry your missing the camping!!

Chris, re: prednisone.... I'm reading all kinds of awful things about it, like weight gain and "moon face" -- did you have any of that? Maybe you cleaned off all the calories! :)

-Beth

Hey Beth..

Re: Prednisone...

I think the weight gain and 'moonface' is from LONG term use. not short term, like for a rash. It happens to people that have to take it for chronic conditions.

I swear, I think I ended up LOSING weight. I felt hyper and always needing to move. And to tell you the truth, it didn't make me hungrier either... Maybe even LESS hungry.

Everyone, of course , is different. But the serious side effects are DEFINITELY from long term use... No worries!!
